I decided to explore the Deeping to see what had changed since cc2010 - When it was last in use.

My great uncle use to work at the toilets at the underpass and my late cleaned the underpass road when he worked at exclusive
Great cafe at the top of that underpass.
I remembered that underpass before it was closed and is now used for deliveries for shops inside Victoria shopping centre.
I remember it like it was yesterday lol
Used to get the no. 29 into town and get off there then go for breakfast in the little cafe i think was called cambellas? I may be wrong lol
I remember when i was young going flat out through there in cars with loud exhausts, used to echo so well👍
Spent a lot of my childhood and school years waiting for busses under that underpass. And using the public toilets which were actually quite clean but always smelled nasty
One of the last memories I have of waiting for a bus there was some rude-boys drove through in a suped up white Ford Orian and threw some FireWork Bangers out the window as they went through from the Odeon side back towards Southchurch... JEEZ !! the noise was mental under there !!! 🙄😮😮.. the toilets were on the right (in the bus stop area... ) ..but was there something else against the back wall ... ill probably remember eventually.. but for now I have brain block...
I remember waitin for buses there. As a child in the 90s i hated it down there lol. Always wondered what it was like since it closed
I remember walking all around there looking for phone cables when I worked for BT
Was there a room or tunnel etc underneath this area ? Only I noticed a vent near the back by the yellow rail ..?..
I used to get off the bus there every day for school and get on the escalator to go up into what is now the plaza.

Cool stuff, remember trying to explore this in 2012 but we didn't go to all these loading area bits you found. Looks pretty big in there and some cool fairly old signage.
remember all of that well all the service corridors were kept well clean, couldnt understand why they closed that all down to traffic, noticed the slim tall chimney in the vid with a metal grill in the top, obvs from a deeper room below, makes you wonder !!!

Nice work lad, Great vids - So good to see local stuff .. And on that note - Was you looking for some thing in there maybe ;) I think whats left of it is at 2:24 though there is alot of suspect doors and fittings shall we say from what your vid shows on the inside . Obviously if you weren't actually looking for some thing than all i just said means nothing and ermm yeaa great vids , especially over Shoe , Big upski and hutch !
Hi Steve, I've wanted to see for myself what had changed under there since cc2010..I used to catch the bus home from SEEC College from within here. There were a couple of things I may have been interested to see as well.. I wont mention at this stage what they were. Glad you are enjoying my/our videos and thank you for your comment etc 👍👍

We may do... However we have bigger explores we are more focused on at present. Ill do a poll and if there is enough interest, we'll do a revisit.
I worked for Boots and their deliveries come in through the underpass
Worst decision ever to close it, didn't make any sense at all.
Hopefully they'll rethink and open it again, but I can see how it's better for the businesses.
