  • Decided to venture out with Pte Fudge and visit a location i have wanted to go for a long time. The weather wasn't great a few bottles of wine and a warm open fire did just the trick.

    Brilliant video, I've actually just spent an hour on OS maps cross referencing your video with the maps and satellite images. I live in the Pennines and really wanted to find this place. After a bit of perseverance I'll now be heading out to this brilliant location. Thanks for the small hints ;) Safe to say the name of the river and a shot of that waterfall made my life easier.

    Yew, Willow and Ash have significant spiritual properties. And rain, there's the reason it's lovely and green.

    After watching this video and a few others, i really want to visit this bothy. It looks like a beautiful little place. I suspect that not being MBA and being properly off the beaten track, it will mostly attract locals and those really hoping to et away from it for a day or two. Not really a party hut i suspect or at least hope!

      All good mate. We are back over next month, week up in N York’s and a week in the Lakes, can’t wait.. will pack the tent, just in case.. otherwise it’s the old man, st Sunday crag, Birks and good old angle tarn, well that’s the plan.... hangover permitting!

    why not put tent in bothy?

    • @thenorth-facewanderer6965
      @thenorth-facewanderer6965  Před 3 lety +1

      The bothy is there really only to use for emergencies or foul weather, to put a tent in a bothy defeats the whole purpose of wild camping. plus if you did that there would be no room for anyone else...

    I guess it's not a secret bothy anymore. A quick search of "North Pennines Bothy" brings it up straight away on Google. This is a privately owned bothy and not an MBA one. The fact that your video has already had 4580 views means that the bothy will sucumb to potentially hundreds more visits, which will result in it being not just busiers and less likely to be found empty but also to vadalism and unsociable behaviour. The best tribute you could give to the bothy would be to remove the video and to leave it largely unknown.

      The irony of the above comment is I now know where it is. Thanks for the clue. The poster did a great job of showing natural beauty without revealing the location. You then complain about the video giving away the location, when it didn't, and your comment did. Chill.
