Having watched his speech and read the transcript I found plenty to be disappointed by. That being said he is a person just like anyone else and has the right to voice his beliefs and opinions. I would never deny any athlete or celebrity from using their platform to speak on matters that are important to them, we after all gave them the microphone, we cannot cry foul when they use it. However, just as he expressed his thoughts others are entitled to respond. I gather from your dismissal of the outrage that you either are of a like mind or have not fully read/watched his speech. He said plenty of hurtful, dismissive, and from may a point of view, degrading things and to act as if the outrage over his speech is unwarranted is very telling of your thoughts on the topics he covered. I will not ever call for the Chiefs to release him, based on his beliefs, and will continue to root for the team (his kicking included). But for my own person beliefs I found his speech to be backwards and condescending and will not support him as an individual, which is basically what any person should be entitled to.
I am tired of the cancel culture and DO NOT agree with the petition to fire him, but you can also not dismiss the very real reaction A LOT of people had to his comments.

Let me say this. I am a Christian. I am a man. If I had to place myself on this Republican/Democrat line I would be somewhere in the middle. My problems with his speech is that it became somewhat political and that he kind of said to women not to have ambition past being a mother. I will never say being a home mom is wrong. There is nothing wrong with it but he came across as saying it's wrong in the eyes of God to want to be a female Doctor or Lawyer. Like having a career is not what women are to do. That set me off a bit but not to the point of wanting him gone. Like butts everyone has an opinion and some full of more crap than others.
Women are the backbone and the spine of our society. When the men were away at war it's women that kept the country moving along. I do not feel I will ever feel that they are somewhat relegated to the house. I believe God gave us all knowledge and skills and it should be used no matter the gender.

He never said or implied that. If you actually listened to his speech, do it again. He also very prominently stresses the word HER when speaking of her role. He went on to say a similar thing to men. That your role as a husband and father should be more important than all else...outside of God.
@@MrCashewkitty Thanks for your feedback but after listening to it three times now I am still of the opinion that he is trying to tell women to "stay in their lane". And as I said I have no problem with a woman choosing to be a stay at home mom if the husband is capable of covering all the cost but this world in my humble opinion is not built for one financial provider for people in the middle to lowerclass level. Even taking the finance out of it even to imply it or put an off the cuff slight at women to curb their ambition to me does not sit well.
As a man and a husband I take great pride in my wife abilities. I would gladly trade roles with her if she even but suggest it. I would support her the way she now supports me and then some. When she has an accomplishment I am so happy for her. Men and women should not confine themselves to a box but take full glory of all that our Precious Lord and Savior gave us and grow it. To lock it off to me is wrong.
Anyways I could go into a religious rant here. My point is simple. The Lord God gave us all skills men and women. Do not inhibit them. Let your light shine for the whole world to see.
I'll never understand the desire to be offended. To seek it out and crave it. My wife worked 2 jobs while putting herself through nursing school. Meanwhile I was roofing durring the day and waiting tables at night and also going to school. My wife, a farm girl, has changed our garage into her wood shop. She changes spark plugs, has helped change fuel filters, tie rods, brakes, you name it. She taught me to gut a deer 20 years ago. She's deadlifted 400 at 145lb bodyweight and did jiu jitsu with me. She took no offense. She's secure in womanhood. The only thing we joked about was the obvious money discrepancy. She'd gladly stay home if we could. The world needs good moms and home makers and it can be very difficult to do both. Society has suffered from the schools raising our children. I'm glad he addressed absentee fathers as well. Even though it's not financially possible for most households, I firmly believe that the US would be a better place with a parent at home, especially home schooling. The cackling hens on daytime TV joke about thier stay at home husbands and nobody blinks an eye.
