One of the details I really appreciate about this song, especially the extended version, is how as it represents Chai being controlled by Kale the song near the end starts to break down with the parts "I'll give you what you want (what I need is not what I want), In a blink I am yours (give it to me and I'll give it to you)" not synching up anymore, showing that Kale is losing more and more control of the situation as Chai and crew push him back. What an excellent final boss song and the more I listen to it the more I like it over The Perfect Drug although both songs work incredibly well for this fight.
The longer builds between the choruses/verses make this version hit so much harder; I love it. Too bad there isn't an Extended version of Negotiation and that the Atrium Mix of Let's Hope This Works seems to have been omitted from the Bethesda 3+ hour list, but what can you do. Better to enjoy what you have than be sad over what you don't in a case like this. Thanks as always for excerpting and posting this!
Not just better, but A LOT better. Original was beyond underwhelming and I was so disappointed at it, like who thought it was a good idea to make the hypest part of the song only 10 seconds long while in-game it just kept building up? Extended mix should've been the original one.
Personally I like listening to the unlicensed versions of the songs. They fit with the bosses and villains better or fit better with Chai's experience and his adventure. The copyrighted licensed song, Perfect Drug doesn't feel as good in the game's story. This song is much better at expressing Kale's personality and his evil plan. The lyrics tell much more about the fight and the song as a whole also feels more intense for a final boss battle.
