This video is about the details of Infinitive . An Infinitive is a base form of a verb . Though it is formed out of a verb , it doesn't work as a verb .
It works as the following in a sentence
1) Noun 2) Adjective 3) Adverb
As a noun
1) (To learn English) is very important for a good job (subject)
2) I need (to learn English) for a food job (object)
3) Her greatest pleasure is ( to sing )
4) I permitted him (to use my car) ( obj complement)
5) The patient is about (to die) ( object of preposition )
As an adjective
The theory (to be explained) is very complex
As an adverb
He is saving money (to buy a flat)

@@EnglishTutorialJayantaSir Sir, আমি বাংলাদেশ থেকে বলছি। আমার এক Teacher বলেছেন Noun Phrase কখনোই Preposition দিয়ে শুরু হয় না। "Cliffs TOEFL" এর বইটিতেও একই কথা বলা হয়েছে।

আমার শিক্ষক বলেছেন, "উপরের বাক্যটিতে "behind the door" হলো Adverbial of place। এটিতে Inversion এর নিয়ম অবুসরণ করা হয়েছে বিধায় এটিকে আপাত দৃশটিতে Subject বলে মনে হচ্ছে।কিন্তু Inversion হয়েছে বলে এটি সামনে এসেছে, তাই এটি Subject হতে পারে না। তার মানে এটি Noun Phrase নয়। এটি হলো Adverbial Phrase। "
এখন উনার কথা আমার Logical মনে হয়েছে। আপনার কী মনে হয় যে উনি সঠিক বলেছেন? এখন আপনার কাছে যদি এই বিষয়টি Counter করার জন্য কোনো বই এর Reference থাকে তাহলে দয়া করে আমাকে জানাবেন Sir। আমার শিক্ষকও Reference ছাড়া আমার কথা মানতে চাইছেন না।🙏
