Kasablanca delivers the fourth single of their upcoming debut album, ‘Higher Resolution’ (Side A), this time with their viral official cover of The Prodigy’s iconic track from 1996, ‘Breathe.’
Quickly becoming a chart-topping single in the late '90s, ‘Breathe’ was the second single from The Prodigy’s third album ‘The Fat of the Land.’ The song saw widespread critical acclaim around the world, hitting number 1 on UK music charts, going on to be 2x certified platinum, and earning a spot as one of dance music’s most recognizable tracks.
First heard in 2023 during Kasablanca’s set at the Group Therapy Weekender at The Gorge Amphitheater, the duo took the audience by surprise with this thumping live-oriented take on ‘Breathe.’ Footage of the cover quickly spread online, garnering millions of views across Instagram, TikTok, and CZcams as fans called on them to release the track. Their viral video ended up as one of the most shared videos in dance music for 2023 with over 65,000 fans sharing the original posts.
Kasablanca’s ‘Breathe’ gives fans an official tribute to the original hit while blending modern tastes of acid house and techno into a true mainstage anthem. It follows their three previous album singles, ‘Remission’ with Lane 8, ‘Terminal Feeling’, and ‘Daydream’ with anamē, with the first half of their recently announced debut album ‘Higher Resolution’ dropping on October 4th. The band will tour North America this fall in conjunction with the album’s release.
Kasablanca 'Breathe' is out now on Anjunabeats.
Release Date: 23 August 2024

I am amazed that there aren't more remixes and covers of Prodigy tracks. Such great music to work off of. This track is definitely a banger! RIP Keith Flint.
I think it's such a unique style that's so perfect it's really hard to do it justice.
Right 👍🇵🇰
I think it's a lightning doesn't really strike twice thing. The prodigy are rave legends, it's really impossible to bottle that and try it again.
So glad. Keep acid alive
I love that the visual is a reference to The Prodigy - Fat of the Land Album Cover
I looked at it closer after you said that and said holy crap! That is awesome!

No , just leave the classic alone.
simple but sick visualizer❤🎉
the vocals are a bit weird imo in comparison to the original, but loving the energy

I like that the progde have given inspiration to this, and it's not bad at all. I just would drop the original in a set if I was going to.

lol, 2m 08s mark, sounds like a commodore 64 loading music
Interesting, love the acid though it needed to get wilder, vocal a little underwhelming, I'm not totally sold on this.
Extremely disappointing drop. Thought it was going to be a TCM-style break.
Love Kasablanca but this leaves me feeling blank. It doesn't really bring much to the table, as the best part of the song is just a nearly 1:1 rework of the original. Meh.
