Resident evil remake is the perfect remake. Devs need to look at this game as an example of how to make a remake. It takes everything that was great about the original, leaves nearly all the gameplay content that was in the original game in the remake while sprucing it up a lot, completely overhauls the game's graphics, music, cutscenes, voice acting to make it all much better, and adds a massive amount of new content.
Not only first RE Remake deserves that place but is also a must have classic if you still own and love your GameCube (or even a WII) ... funny how i don't see that game on any top ten GC games ever though
Super Mario 64 DS should be more than just an honourable mention, considering all they added.
yeah, but the difficulty of the remake sort of ruins it for me
guy random True, the whole method of suddenly needing to circle on the touchscreen in the Bowser fights, as well as some fairly convoluted missions did make parts unreasonably hard, like finding Luigi was a nightmare for me when I was playing it the first time 6 years ago.
TheFlagRespawns on the contrary, it was painfully easy, the map on the lower screen ruined the feeling of exploration from the original, and the jumping ability of luigi and yoshi made the game really easy, even to get all 150 stars.
guy random Okay then. I hope it was otherwise enjoyable.
TheFlagRespawns it was a bit
Just finished Zero Mission.
It's now my favorite action/platforming game, and one of my favorites video games period.
Also enjoyed a lot Ocarina of Time 3D.
Man REmake easily the best of the resident evil series for me. None of the other games in the series comes close to fearing just opening another door. Classic remake of a classic game. I hope Capcom looks to Remake for its next RE game
Well Revelations was the closest thing us hardcore RE fans got, to classic RE. Hopefully they go even further into classic RE styling in their next installment.
Why do gamecube games looks better than most Wii games? -_-
Why do casuals try too hard to bash out the wii? filthy casuals...
ikr
Because a lot of woo games were shovel ware. Also the GC had more limits on graphical capabilities so try had to use interesting art styles that ended up looking better in the long run
+I still can't think of a cool name wii sucks ass you filthy casual
Dead Pool
Oh noes, i have been attacked by a kid with no arguments... no....
Nice! Well explained and thought out so I agree with your list. I just always wondered why your videos are never in HD.
You need to do this list again. A beautiful remake came out in November that I'm itching to see you guys look at.
Really? Which one?
ajmrowland The new pokemon game
nah they should wait until February 14 hint hint
Ahhhhhh I knew resident evil would bring it home. I still love and own that game to this day.
Now they also got an HD version of it on PSN.... I plan to get it when I have more money
The Resident Evil remake was brilliant!! The extra content and the graphics were brilliant! Totally agree!
The graphics to this day are still breath taking. They were so advanced for their time, pure brilliance!
I'd say RE (the original) was one of the most atmospheric games I've ever played. It was fantastic. The remake is awesome too. Why they didn't remake RE2 in that way, is beyond me...
they did remake re2 and re3 for gamecube just like the first one
Aidan Cruikshank Those aren't remakes. Those are ports
Aye Director's cut as Chris on Advanced was the true survival horror experience as I completed it once and never trying it again as it was too hard!!
They are doing RE2 remake now. I know your comment is 3 years old, but if you didnt know they are doing it, it will be nice to hear
I agree. I thought the original PlayStation RE1 was pretty atmospheric. Especially for the time. Then the remake comes along and just does it even better.
Resident Evil is the definitive term of a remake. 70% different, 30% core. all developers should follow this rule.
YES! I was hoping resident evil would be on the list. The only thing that would make it more perfect is if they remade re2 and 3
8:16
Jill: What is it?
Ron: It's a Pipe Bomb!
Others: YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY (KABOOM)
Xavior TheLycan LMAO YES
Interesting list. Some games I am really glad to see on here since I played them.
If fan made counts than black mesa the HD fan remake of the original half life it was also approved by valve and it's in the top 10 list on moddb and I believe it should at least have had an honourable mention
I agree, it was a great remake of the original, when I first played it I didn't know it was fan-made
Half-life wasn't a Nintendo game so chances are, it won't appear on WatchMojo gaming videos.
you know what needs a reboot? Crash Bandicoot
I wan't to play it so much, I never finished it...
TheFictionic ok play all the crash games for me please
Maybe...
YYYYYYEEEEEESSSSSS!
Crash bandicoot 2 and Spyro 2, those games need updated, quickly before the memory of Spyro is ruined by sky landers...oh too late
Number one HAD to be number one. Best remake ever.
Hell yeah. Along with Eternal Darkness and RE 0, it was the only reason I ever bought a Gamecube then.
***** You're an idiot for this. Someone doesn't agree with you so they aren't much of a gamer. There are tons of games that don't like FPS games, tons who don't like RPGs, everyone's preference is different but that don't make you more or less of a gamer. To say so shows your colors as a fan boy and a gaming separatist who thinks his unique taste in games some how makes him special or better than someone else.
***** If you were much of a gamer you'd know 2 things about that game: 1. its a fan mod, 2. its not finished, the Xen part is still missing.
***** One, you're still spitting your personal opinion like it's fact or law. Two, you are worse than the next guy when your opinion comes with an insult or degrading comment to your fellow gamer just because they don't agree with you. Three, no one has to give recognition to the things you like or the opinions you have. All I hear from you is what you think and whats your opinion is. If you want your opinion to be heard that much make your own video and do it yourself; it is not up to WatchMojo or any gamer to share or advocate your opinion. No ones here to justify what you think and despite what you think you are flat wrong for insulting someone who didn't insult you or even mention Black Mesa out of the blue. You lead with ignorance and you and everyone else who does it are wrong. You're like a damn child playing in the mud upset they in trouble because other kids are getting to do it. Insulting your fellow gamers for disagreeing with you... always a sign of immaturity. Always a sign of entitlement.
The Gamecube was worth owning back in the day just for Twin Snakes and Resident Evil Remake. So many great games were on that system...thanks for showing them some love in this video!
Melee? resident evil 4! Animal Crosssing? Pokemon XD, Twilight Princess?! GameCube had a rich lineup and with Xbox and PS2 on its side made of the best era of gaming before all that Bullshit with DLC, Mandatory Online multiplayer, and emphasis on spectacles rather than substance
Woah awesome video, I'm gonna ge tlike 80% the games of this list, some to replay games I loved and other to play games I never played
My favorite remake is Final Fantasy IV Advance, due to the amazing bonus content.
Can someone tell me what the Bionic Commando "Plot Twist" was?
This his arm was really his wife if i remember correctly
WTF that is a stupid plot twist
The bestest dumbest plotest twist ever.
Stan Wojcik I literally laughed out loud so hard reading that.
Kyotosomo Ypu're wife is missing through the story + cool bionic arm that swings you around like a Gumbi Gibbon = Your wife IS your Bionic Arm. Looks like someone is losing their MD
It's 2014 and watchmojo still plays ther videos in 480p lol
besides that, great countdowns guys! :)
I'd say Chrono Trigger in DS was great, but would that be a remake like they would classify?
SSBBPOKEFAN It's more of a port than a remake.
0:57
Worst laugh I ever heared in a video game
Eeyup.
KamelHeini Schmidt
One of my favorite youtubers amde a Top 10 with the worst dialoges in video games. this took the top spot
***** Who? I can't find the video.
hristaki99
Its a german video :P
Just search ZeitZuZocken
There are videos that analyze why the laughing was horrible. If you played the game you would understand that the character was pretty much depressed at that point and one of the other main characters decided to cheer him up with laughing as loud as you can. He was basically forcing his laugh not the actor but the character. The VA in FFX is pretty good for it's time and people are only judging it from that scene
Yeah, Twin Snakes is why Snake made Brawl
Thank you so much for including 5. So many people don't realize that there was an excellent Tomb Raider trilogy between Angel of Darkness and Tomb Raider (2013), which did a much better job of modernizing the series while still staying true to the spirit than the 2013 reboot did (which isn't a bad game by itself, but is essentially new IP, with very little of what made the old games great).
This list was actually what got me to play Resident Evil for the first time - the remake’s been my favorite survivor horror game ever since!
DUUUUHHHHH POKEMON OMEGA RUBY AND ALPHA SAPHIER
We haven't even seen gameplay for them yet...
Sapphire*
They will be amazing but one: the game wasn't announced then and two: its gameplay hasn't been released yet
Those games were just announced you stupid piece of shit.
Guys... I'm pretty sure the ''DUUUHHH" In his comment signifies sarcasm. Though it doesn't translate well into the internet, it is rather easy to notice, when it's a comment such as his. Seriously, people.
BLACK MESA! The amazingly done fan made remake of the original Half Life! Not even an honorable mention?!
It's a fan made mod
***** Yeah. Good point. I didn't realise that.
I like how they say they're not including reboots, but then they put Punch-Out!! on here. XD
This is a clever list. Who says games don't get second chances??
Super Mario 64 DS is a good remake
or is that a reboot
UltimateGamer12 it was in the honorable mentions
UltimateGamer12 It's a remake... although I see it as a port with a few extras >.>
yeah I saw but I count it as a remake
Aoi Kurashiki It's still a remake. They changed the graphics, added a few tweaks here and there. A port is a transfer of the original game without any difference.
Zero Mission Rocked. Samus was awesome and the Zero-Suite part was also interesting. A very cool game.
I totally agree with Heartgold/Soulsilver and the Resident Evil one on this list 👍🏼 I Love both of them!
I knew MGS Twin Snakes had to be here! My most favorite chapter in the saga, Shadow Moses incident was the biggest reason why I got a Gamecube. Great list by the way.
Black Mesa would be my top remake.
Or reimagining, or fangame.
DoctorWeeTodd Technically Black Mesa isnt a remake, a reboot, as it has the same storyline, gameplay, some new rooms, and enhanced graphics. A good example for a remake is pac-man, instead of playing in the same blue maze, the new Pac-Man Championship Edition buffed up Pac-man's popularity with new and improved visuals and gameplay. That qualifies as a remake. But it is true Black Mesa is an amazing improvement from the original Half-Life. I do have Black Mesa, but am still waiting on the last chapter for Xen so I am redoing Half-Life for the Xen chapter. But overall thats my opinion, I wish I could call Black Mesa the top remake of all time, but thats not for me to say.
NextGenTyson Black Mesa is not a reboot by any means. It's a remake as stated by the own developers in their website. Having the same gameplay, storyline, same events and enhanced graphics categorizes it as a remake, not a reboot. DmC: Devil may Cry (2013) is a reboot, where the original story and characters had been almost completely scratched. Tomb Raider 2013 is a reboot, where the original story has been re-written and is more action oriented. Castlevania Lords of Shadow is a reboot the same way, where the story has absolutely nothing to do with the original universe.
TheKrustaceox Thanks for telling me this, I understand a bit more now on how to determine whether a game is a remake or reboot etc. Thank you for reply, much is obliged :)
still a mod ,i think
NextGenPotato It's an official remake. I commented the same thing.
Resident Evil remake was awesome.
Very good list but they were very hard on the #1.
The original Resident Evil was superb for it's time. It's true that the voice acting was pretty lame and the graphics are so dated but back in 1996 it was sooo shocking. Besides, back in the 90's the lame voice acting was pretty common in videgames so not so many people were so picky back then. I don't agree that the game wasn't very atmospheric, because it actually was! Just because the remake was more atmospheric doesn't mean that the original wasn't.
This is like saying that the King Kong remake in 2005 is way better than the original 30's version because the 30's version is so dated.
Well, considering Metal Gear Solid perfected everything RE had problems with less than two years later, it's a valid complaint.
Byobrulez
Actually, I was talking about what was common on videgames back in the 90's. There were exceptions like Metal Gear Solid and Wing Commander 3 which had great acting and great graphics but that wasn't common back then.
Making a HI QUALITY videgame back then was harder and far more expensive. Right now, we have more technology that can make the videgames faster so the makers can have more budget, time, and better actors.
the acting were bad but they were lovable and memorable.
TheChriskilla100
I agree. Besides, by playing the original Resident Evil and Metal Gear Solid is the only way to travel back to the 90's.
I don't hate remakes, in fack, I like some of them. I also admit that those remakes were kind of better but I prefer to travel back to the past instead of improving the past all the time.
*****
Yeah, I knew that. Still, Resident Evil is a superb game and even if there are better games is still a classic. Almost every game is a rip-off from older games like Legend of Zelda being inspired by Adventurer, Saint Row by Grand Theft Auto, Uncharted by Tomb Raider, and so on..
I thoroughly enjoyed my Soul Silver version. I also loved how they took the pokemon yellow mechanic and made it so that your lead pokemon followed you around. I tell yeah, with that mechanic I never used my bike in game.
Resident Evil will always be the greatest video game remake of all time. Even the upcoming remake of Resident Evil 2 will be hard-pressed to truly top it.
No, ocarina of time 3D is the best
+Utopia39000 that's a remaster not a remake
Wait for FF7 Remake
+AdamRonaldo1903 not sure about that. They're re-doing the entire story as well. Gameplay is akin to FF XV
Yeah, I'm not sold on the FFVII remake. I'll certainly play it and it will most likely be fun, but I feel like the game mechanics and all that will be too different from the original. The thing about the Resident Evil remake is for the most part, they only did what a remake should do and that was redo graphics, maybe add a little additional content (like the addition of Lisa Trevor), maybe improve the gameplay a bit but keeping it mostly the same. Completely changing gameplay like FFVII intends to do is a big mistake in the eyes of many fans.
Monkey Island 2 Special Edition: LeChuck's Revenge is a better remake than the first entry in the series. But to each his own, I suppose.
Also, this list will need to be changed come November when Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are released.
Good (and agreeable) list. One of my favorite game remakes is Super Mario Bros. Deluxe
Whenever I hear even I bit of music from heart gold, i get a massive nostalgia hit. That was the first pokemon game i played, and still one of the games I have the most hours in.
Who else was thinking "Heartgold! Heartgold!" or "Soulsilver! Soulsilver!" the entire time?
Good list, great to see Heartgold and Soulsilver (And Super Mario 64 DS as a honourable mention)
One of the best remakes I've seen is Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories. Going from a 2D GBA Game to a fully 3D PS2 Game it's not always easy, but Square managed to pull it off :)
I liked heart gold and soul silver, but they are not the best games in the franchise. It would probably be Emerald of X and Y.
I can understand why some one think Heartgold and Soulsilver are the best, I just disagree with them.
As much as an unpopular opinion is, I think the best games are Black 2 and White 2
Yeah but watchmojo dont seem to like kingdom hearts
I usually have problems with these lists, but this one nailed all the good ones.
I got to number 2 and the honorable mention started without mentioning Resident Evil and I was about the get super upset then... Satisfaction! Awesome list.
black mesa should be there
Even to this day, I still feel jipped that we never got proper remakes of Resi 2 and 3, like Capcom originally stated when Resi Remake was in development.
3:49 Character on the right. Rob Paulsen. Can't mistake his incredible voice.
Good list. Twin Snakes, REmake and Zero Mission are all excellent games
I'm not sure if Punch-out and pacman count as remakes
They don’t. They’re sequels.
Punch-out is a reboot. You fight the same guys but it's in a completely new game.
personally, I prefer fire red/leaf green to heart gold/soul silver. Hopefully omega ruby/alpha sapphire can compare :)
Spot on with Resident Evil. That game blew my mind when it came out on GameCube!
I like Cave Story +
The new mode and the optional new sounds and sprites are all really nice, and it doesn't change anything about the already perfect gameplay and story.

WatchMojo...Punch-Out Wii is not a remake, it's a sequel. There are some characters that never appear in the original game.
(Also dat obvious gen 2 nostalgia you guys...)
final fantasy 10 HD is a remake because it includes content from the international versions of the games
shingoldenwarrior That's not what a remake is...
***** no, in halo anniversary addition, they used the same engine as halo reach
Top 10 Halo maps! Halo maps! Halo maps! Halo maps! HALO MAPS! HALO MAPS! HALO MAPS!
You mised out on Black Mesa Sourse, other thab#n that no other games come to mind.
Cant wait for the resident evil evil hd remaster! this video made me even more excited!
#9 The Next Must have for my Cube. Always wanted to play that :)
I feel like this list should be redone in November
#Hoennconfirmed
Super castlevania 4. DO NOT LET THE TITLE FOOL YOU! This is a remake of the first casltevania for the nes. Simon Belmont once again faces the horrors of Dracula's castle. And in this one, you have more enemies to face, more bosses to fight, the ability to whip in 8 directions. Add that to graphics that still hold up today, challenging levels, and a fantastic soundtrack. The word super was defiantly a worthy title.
HollywoodLego There are many remakes of the original Castlevania from NES...And I am not very sure if that games are Remakes or Rebbots
Street Fighter III 3rd Strike Online?
It added online play, visual filters, an optional remixed soundtrack by Simon Viklund and bonus content unlocked by completing in-game achievements. Added Tournament and Spectator modes, added Trial Modes that teach the game's fundamentals and the ability to share replays on CZcams.
That NBA Jam remake is blurry! - What system was it on? :) .
I'm sure that that this video was most likely released before MM3D, but I think both OoT3D, and MM3D should be on here
Those are REMASTERED versions, there is a slighty difference between REMASTERED and REMAKE, that i can't put into words
OoT3D and MM3D are both remakes
Sasquatch Mcgee It was rebuilt from the ground up. Not just a simple retexture. Halo CE Anniversary was a retexture.
I agree, OOT and MM 3D are really remakes, they didn't just put new textures, they added s hint system, journal, new item locations, more items, a better master quest (OOT only), a new save method, and edits from bugs and glitches. Also I do believe there's some pars in the game that obtaining an item is different form the older version. I've played both versions and there is a slight difference between the two.
Majora’s Mask 3D was fucking terrible.
REmake is hands down #1 the best example of how a remake SHOULD be done! Twin snakes is how you DO NOT remake a game. You can't just add in superior controls and camera and not adjust the difficulty!
Don't get me wrong it was a fun nostalgic little stroll but wtf... This is a prime example of why Capcom needs to make RE2 Remake with the classic style and not the newer style! It's a cautionary tale!
+EQOAnostalgia Didn't they announce last year they're remaking Re2?
Yes they did.
In terms of battling, Pokemon X/Y are somewhat remakes of Pokemon Stadium/Colossus series games, as they mark the first time since those games that 3D battling was used in the series.
Not at all surprised with #1 here! :) I think I would've put DuckTales somewhere in the list, though (or at least an honourable mention).
Resident Evil remake didn't have the right to look this amazing after more than 10 years, its almost unbelivable...
Right? It holds even better than RE4, despite the fact that it was released 3 years before it!
Why is Halo CE an honorable mention? It should at least be number 5 on the list.
Because its almost a copy paste in terms of gameplay mechanics , little to no evolution , for example Bionic Commando Rearmed used the same old mechanics but it also added new ones that maked the game much better than the original .
I loved NBA Jam, doing dunks at the 3 point line.
I agree with Resident Evil remake as # 1. So much detail was put into this game, I still play it till this day.
I wish Resident Evil 1 Remake and Metal Gear Solid 1 Remake were on the PSN market with some trophies.
Well you're in luck with Resident Evil, the remake is getting a HD remaster for current and next gen consoles, due out in 2015
Its shocking that Resident evil didn't make it to any other systems. Its gamecube or wii only.
Capcom would of made a fortune by porting it to Microsoft and Sony machines. A real shame, its an incredible game.
Nintendo wouldn't allow it because of the contract. But I know what you are saying. It is a shame.
resident evil does have titles for playstation
Resident Evil used to be exclusively for the Playstation, as was Resident Evil 2, not recieving a port to the N64 for almost 2 years, same for Resident Evil 3. It's not like Sony or Microsoft haven't had their fair share of it.
Chris L Im talking about the "resident evil remake", as the video clearly shows. 5, 6, revelations, ORC, are nowhere near as good as this remake.
Allnamestakenzomg I know, but its typical that one of the best games is unavailable to play in hd, or on a decent controller.
The wii hd adapter really is not all that.
You're right about Gold & Silver/HeatGold & Soul Silver. The originals are my favorite Pokémon games and the remakes were great as well.
I think Shadow Warrior's 2013 game remake was awesome as it contained the gore of the first while adding a more substantial plot and humorous dialogue.
7:36
So Red gets confused with Ash and now Gold gets confused with Red.
Well thats some progress to the general public
Next, in omegaruby and alphasaphire, ruby/brendan will be called red too
Metal Gear should hace been higher. The only controversy came from non GameCube owners that hated the fact it wasn't on PS2. It's an excellent remake that actually retconed series changes like character accents.
Dude. It's not because of the system it was on. It was that many of the fans didn't think it lived up to what they expected it to be.
Player Slayer And what do you know of this matter
REmake is one of the best videogames I´ve ever played in my life. next to silent hill (psx)
SO glad Super Mario 64 DS and Kirby Super Star Ultra are Honorable Mentions. those are my 2 favourite remakes.
3:21 n*gga stole my bike?
Conker Live And Reloaded? I honestly enjoyed that
i did not like all the censoring
aniel tanis Neither did I but still you still know what they're saying.
sonic123211 what i don't understand is how the nintendo version is explicit while the xbox version is censored
aniel tanis Yet they sill cursed and stuff on Xbox many times.
Well mojo you done it again the number 1 pick is what my youtube channel is all about you know your stuff guys long live survival horror
bionic commando looks awesome, is ther like an indie equivalent on xbox360 or ps4?
REmake truly deserves the #1 spot. Game still looks phenomenal today so imagine it running on current gen hardware. When will Capcom learn to go back to their roots and give Re2/3 the same treatment they deserve!
They should have remade RE4 in my opinion, instead of just HD'ing it you know
*****
No because RE4 sucks.
snake2006 Your opinion, but it's a lot better than 5 and 6, and Operation whatever it's called. First RE I actually went to go 100% on
*****
Yes,you are right that it's way better than 5 and 6 and that Operation Raccoon City. Still doesn't make it good. RE was never suppose to be a action game and it never would have been if the REmake would have sold better (but that is Mikami's fault for putting it on a system that sold like complete crap aka the Gamecube).
Okay after watching...
Pacman Championship - Not a Remake, more of a "Remix".
Punchout - Pretty sure it was stated in the Game that this was a Sequel not a Remake, though Pretty easy to forget since most of the Characters are from the NES game.
NBA JAM - Also not a Remake because it doesn't even use the Same Roster the Original Had.
Everything else was a remake. I do find it criminal that you didn't include Ocarina of Time 3D or Star Fox 3D.
Ocarina of Time 3D is the same game same engine same everything but 3d possible, and motion controls. Nothing was "really new" in that game. Same with Star Fox 3d.
Punchout was made on difference, it wasn't just a sequel, it was a reboot.
Pac-Man Championship would be a remake/new reboot, not a remix. Play the game and you will understand.
DimmuBorgirEmperor
I did play Pacman Championship edition. And It's exactly what I said it was. A Remix, It's not a Remake. It looks absolutely nothing like the Original Game. Taking what you said for Ocarina of Time and Star Fox, why is Resident Evil GC in the top slot? and If Punchout is a Reboot then why didn't Tomb Raider 2013 make the slot?
Seems like there's a big misconception of what is a Reboot, Remake, Remaster, or Remix.
Why didn't Etrain Odyssey The Millennium Girl get any recognition? That was a remake of a DS game for the 3DS and it added a Story! That's much more deserving for this list than any of the three non-remakes that made this list.
I thought the creator of pacman only made 2 pacman games those being the original and the championship edition. So it's basically a remake since he said it would be his last game he was going to make. But I don't know, and I see what you're saying.
Can you guys make an updated version of your top 10 super smash characters or top 10 newcomers
METROID Zero Mission is one of my fave games for that franchise, for the handheld Nintendo games. Gives a small look back at The past Samus had that we hardly knew about, well most people that is, who did not read the manga.
3:20 Nigga stole my bike AGAIN
But Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, AMIRIGHT???
They didn't come out yet!
Eh, at least we're getting gameplay today!
Chances are, they will redux this video later to include it.
Blaze Probopass We are getting gameplay today? I don't remember an announcement for a Nintendo Direct today.
I HOPE we shall see
8:40
Speaking of Re-Written Dialogue, remember Megaman Maverick Hunter X?
i played soulsilver and that was fun but my fav remake had to be final fantasy tactics war of the lions the remake to the ps1 classic. the handheld version was great using the combat mechanics of the original game made it easy to play while having some of the bigger cutscene's actually be cinematic and introducing a couple of hidden characters from games that had been released since the original while keeping the hidden characters of the original game. made for a really fun game and both hidden characters that were new to the psp remake made my final battle squad due to broken abilities balthier and his barrage and luso and Ramza stacking speed on balthier so he can pump out the dps quicker was just harsh.
Top 10 social links in persona!
This needs to happen!
res evil #1 I approve
Metal gear was a bit tho bro
Totally would of had Final Fantasy IV for the ds on this list. It fits so perfectly with their description.
Hell to the yes for #3 and #2. Zero Mission made me completely forget about the original Metroid (and few remakes can do that), and HG/SS got me addicted for well over 100 hours of saved game time (not counting all the resets for letting rare Pokemon get away).
i dont think it should be on the list but Ocarina of Time 3D should certainly have been in the honorable mention. and dont say its a port or remaster because its clearly a remake
everything about that game (including the bugs) was the same as the n64 version, just remastered graphics. he clearly stated that he wasn't including remastered games in the list, just remakes
TwilightVomit oot 3d wasnt just a texture update. it reconstructed character models, animations, textures, ect. its just as much of a remake than super mario 64 ds which was an honorable mention. an example of a remaster is Shadow of the Colossus HD on the ps3 or Snake Eater HD where they improved textures only
TwilightVomit And yet Halo made the list as an HM
ShyanTheLegend "reconstructed character models, animations, textures", like i said, these are all graphical updates, everything else was the same.
compare Heartgold (pokémon) to the original, it's the same story, mostly same characters BUT with new content like the pokémon that follow you around and the new pokémon from gen 3 and 4.
