- The Mahindra XUV500 has always been a successful SUV because of the way it looks and its capabilities. The SUV has been getting minor updates every couple of years but this time around, it has got a major update which includes looks of revisions to the exteriors and interiors, new additions to the equipment list and the diesel engine produces more power and torque!
The Mahindra XUV500 also gets a petrol engine. Transmission options on the SUV include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic.
This is easily the best SUV by an Indian automaker and it has a lot going for it. The Mahindra XUV500 primarily competes with the Tata Hexa and Jeep Compass.

People say that the Jeep compass is a better vehicle than the Tata hexa and Mahindra XUV500. But there are done serious quality issues with the compass. I heard the there are major suspension and drivetrain defects in the compass and have seen several reviews about the the bad build quality too. People should not bad mouth Tata and Mahindra because they are indian brands. They are currently the best cat manufacturers in India and are always on top of the sales chart. And people also say that Innova is better than XUV but forget that they are not in the same class and are completely different vehicles. Apples to apples the Tata hexa and the XUV500 are the best in the segment.
Well said bro... I too have the same opinion... Compass is no way near these two beasts (xuv n hexa) and thats reflected Well in the sales figures also
