The best looking midsize truck hands down imo. I absolutely love everything about this truck. The simplicity and durability and reliability and everything about it is perfect for me. I personally chose a 4runner over the Tacoma since I have a lot of expensive gear I lug around and have people and family I drive around too but can’t go wrong with either one.
Never can go wrong with Toyota ever.
Wait for your TRD your heart is set on manual that’s a lot of money so be sure you’re happy with your purchase nice ride though

I picked up a 2020 pro auto , with moonroof. I am 6’2” also. I bought magnetic gray metallic. I fit good with the power seat. Love this truck !! Good luck and thanks for the video.

I got a white 2019 TRD pro. I love manuals too, but in my daily, I don't care plus I saved about 4K buying a 19. Lights do look better on the 20, but everything else meh.

Hi Neo, great choice on ordering the manual. I did the same thing in 2011 on a TRD Sport. I waited 3 months and as anxious as i was, there was no way that i would sell out and compromise my love for a manual just to get a truck right away. Stick with your gut and go with the manual. Plus in a few years you might not have the option as sadly, manuals are getting more rare... Save the manuals!!!

I’ve read alot of blogs that have nothing good to say about the automatic transmission to include “gear hunting.”
I’d have opt for the manual, unless Toyota has straightened that issue out.
The first thing I would do is unplug the motion sensor in the grill or it will slam on the brakes when it thinks you should!
I get mine in the army green from the manufacturer in February. I cant friggin wait!
I've been looking too. But, as far as I know you can not buy a 2020 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro without a sunroof. Its standard on that trim level. I don't like a sunroof at all and that's what holds me back. Would really like to know if you can get it without a sunroof.
Why not an f-150? Is it all about looks? You could get a Raptor for the same.

My first Automatic after decades of driving is a Tacoma because I'm OLD and wifey doesn't do stick.
If you don't work in the city get the manual. If you sit in traffic forget it.
They do last. So under powered engine produces no heat!

You can not order this truck without a moonroof. It is standard equipment on a TRD PRO.
The only thing I think is that you don’t get crawl control with a manual. That’s one of the main features of the Pro and Off Road
Manuals may be fun, but they put alot of repetitive stress on the knee and will cause a muscle imbalance over time that can lead to other biomechanical issues.

Which one did you end up going with? I’m looking into getting one too & that’s my dilemma on going manual or automatic.
TRD Pros only come with the sunroof, you can't order without it. And the new Army Green color is only available on the Pros. So I don't know what you think you ordered (in the video you say you ordered the exact same truck but with an MT and no sunroof), but something isn't right. I'd double-check to see what they actually ordered for you.
Oh, and MT is always the right choice! =)
I have a 2016 trd 4x4 Tacoma. The auto is terrible. It is always in too high a gear. Surging when cold . Weird up and down shifting. So far 50, 000 miles trouble free but with lack luster performance. Go for the manual. I will when i trade in. Best of luck

Why do people drive manual trans truck?
Manual you lose crawl control, push start, tires pressure monitor and rear sonar but it's worth it. you get 4:30 gear ratio not 3:91 and more challenge off road.

Why is everyone so pro on the manual transmission, isn't [S] mode pretty much the same thing?
TM Feldman No, not even close. The best part of a MT is executing a perfect mesh of clutch pedal with gas after the gear shift with your hand...that’s a much different experience than simply pushing up & down on those stupid “sport” shift modes.
@@Mobylightning33 I'm familiar with the experience. I've driven everything from a semi to a Fiat, I've had my share of perfect shifts. Today was the first time I've driven this type of automatic. I just don't want to buy it and hate it.
I drive my auto like a manual. I took mine over the mountains of Colorado. Was very glad I had the auto. I shift all day in my big truck so i like the auto. I have a 17 trd offroad

Get the auto. They've revised the ratios so that it no longer hunts for gears. It'll have a better residual value too IMPO.

I have the manual and love. Sometimes it's annoying but not as annoying as driving the shit 6 auto.

There is no need for a manual, why anyone would prefer it over auto with manual mode just doesn't make good sense. When trade in time comes you'll be hit with a big depreciation because they're not in demand by the majority of buyers. Only a small niche of meatheads want them...... the same type fellas that enjoy created unnecessary black smoke from diesel stacks..........Meatheads......
