  • One of our CZcams Viewers, John brought in his Leopard 2A6 by Torro!
    He saw our Heng Long vs. Tamiya video and wanted to share his tank with us.
    This thing is a beast and weighed more than a Henglong by a ton!
    It also costs about 4X as much but it is a quality product!
    !!We do not carry this brand!!

    LMAO. Are you guys making my tank a CZcams star?? It was a pleasure to bring it to your shop. The Torro was a gift from a family member. The tank was 597 Euros and shipping was 125 Euros. I don't know what that is in CDN dollars, but it works out to "out of my price range'. Extra batteries, a North American charger and duty fees brought the price to just over 2200 CDN. This is why it was such a beautiful gift from my brother Jim. The only supplier for Torro that I found, is out of Florida. The tank itself was shipped to me directly from Germany. Lol. Total ship weight was just over 45lbs. The Heng Long and Tamiya are more in my price range. Update on my recent purchases from you guys. The 360 degree turret ring is installed on my Heng Long Leopard 2A6. Took me a little under an hour to install. But, I had all my wiring labeled and that made it easier to install. LOL. That WiFi camera? OMG, it's fantastic!!!. I have it installed in the T-90 that I got from you. The T-90 is stripped down, masked ready for an attempt at a digital cammo paint job. I was inspired to make this attempt by a CZcams vid from Mr. Tank a lots channel. I made inserts for all the vision blocks/periscopes. It was great finding the materials I needed to do this from the large selection of paints and modeling materials at the Hobby Centre. I want to get another camera for the Leopard. Heng Long makes it sooooo easy to expand on any of the models available. The TK 7.0 board even has a designated plug in point, CN 5 for a WiFi camera. The 360 turret ring for the T-72/T-90 series are rare beasts to acquire. Due to the fuel tanks on the rear, the 360 kits for other tanks won't work. The T-72/T-90 360 kits have cams on them. There is a lever switch that is activated by contact with the cam as the turret rotates, raising the gun tube before the fuel tanks and lowering it after passing the fuel tanks. Even rarer to acquire, are the laser 'dazzlers' that actually light up. Hope to get back to the store for more purchases soon. OH! Shout out to the Ontario Regiment Museum.

      Amazing! Thanks for sharing and all the kind words. Your experiences and recommendations really help us determine what types of things we should stock and support in our store. Many thanks!

      I believe it was $2200 plus $400 to ship over from Germany. If John views this perhaps he'll share.

    Heng Long vs. Torro? Whats the diff?

    • @hobcen
      @hobcen  Před 7 měsíci +1

      Torro is produced in Germany. Heng Long comes from China. They both function similarly, the Torro model has more weight, finesse of detail and some operating features but are they worth the extra cost? Our video presented both so viewers could see what options are out there.

      Torro has more metal parts. Heng Long has better electronics. Both are chinese.
