Back when I was young enough to do so, my favorite thing was live gigs. Some days it was my least favorite thing. Entirely depended on the audience. Some gigs treated me like family and others not so much. I quit gigging about 7 years ago. I do spend my summers with about 20 other ancient musicians in a very small village. We take over the back deck of the only hotel and drink beer and play music and tell lies... Cheers from a Canadian godin player. ~ulrich

It's unbelievable how people think it's okay to touch the musicians thing's just because they've had a drink or two. It's the same thing on commercial flights. Out of control adults 😮no respect 😒

Yep. Ironically I get the most money out of people drinking when it's for tips. Something we call "taquilla inversa" in Spain. It can quite nerve racking considering my pedal board is worth about 2500 bucks. All in all it has to be better than my business. When I retire I will go back to playing for a living. Un gran saludo de España.
Private gigs like this are always the same. Someone always comes up and sings with you into the mic, or asks you to play metallica. It's just how it is. They usually pay good though.
