You could easily tell that Bad Wolves didn't do the cover with selfish intentions. This was pure respect and honor shown to her and her family. Simply beautiful! And he sung his heart out to make her proud!
bad wolves actually started on this cover while deloras was still alive and she was actually going to sing in the cover with tommy but she died the day before she was supposed to come down and record, and so bad wolves wheren't actually going to release it until the family of delores told them they had to.

Strong voice and strong message. Dolores O'Riordan was an incredible vocalist and writer as well. She will be greatly missed.

I know the first time I heard this version... I literally was at a loss for words 💙 hands down one of the best covers I’ve ever heard ... Tommy knows how to emote ... gave me goosebumps and I kept repeating holyshit over and over and over ❤️
They didn’t do this to ride the wave of her death, they planned on her joining in collaboration in the remake, but she passed on the very day it was scheduled... Deloris had already given her blessing on their cover version! Thank God they went forward in the release AMAZING

My husband took our son to his first concert (he's 12) Bad Wolves was part of the line up. They really enjoyed seeing them live. I hear my son playing it regularly now. We had good discussion about what the song is about.

Just as Disturbed given a new voice to "Sounds of Silence", Bad Wolves had given "Zombie" its new voice. They did a great a cover - one of the best covers of this song.
I can't speak for anyone else, but when you said you had goosebumps at the start, I said out loud, 'Just wait you are about to be smacked in your heart'
An amazing cover of an amazing song, the video is so powerful, the moment the lead singer and the Dolores lookalike touched hands, wow, that gets me every time, like he's reaching out to her spirit, but not being able to reach her, miss Dolores so much, but she leaves us with a wonderful legacy through her music

If there's anyone that does not like this song at all, I don't get how you can't love this song. This is a classic song but yet it's a very awesome emotional tribute cover song. Not to mention, Dolores who was the singer of the cranberries who originally sang " zombie" died on the day they were covering this song but they went ahead and released the song as a tribute. Freaking awesome
When we first heard it on the radio we thought it was Disturbed. Watching this video made me tear up.

The Gold painted lady on the other side of the glass is a representation of what the lead singer of the cranberries wore in her original video. Which brings even more awesomeness to the video, in making sure she was represented.
R.I.P. Dolores O'Riordan. Tommy did her justice. Listening to her sing now I keep thinking of the Awesome sounds her and Janice Joplin will be belting out together, God will weep. :)

Tommy Vext, the vocalist, had the cover sent to Dolores prior to the release to get her seal of approval. Not only did she love it, she wanted to sing on the track (as mentioned in the opening text). After her death, the band initially was going to shelve the song until it was decided the proceeds would go to her children.

I saw this cover only a few days ago and I really liked it, but it was also difficult to watch because I didn't know that Dolores had died 😢, just like I didn't know much about her life, so when I looked up what happened, the whole cover hit me even worse. It's definitely powerful, and I also remember listening to the original a lot when it came out (and loving it).

Delores o'riorden was meant to be singing on this track with bad wolves but she sadly passed on. They released it in her memory, the girl in gold is meant to represent Delores

I'm having a hard time to put into words how powerful this was. For one, I was in college in the mid 90s, I remember the Cranberries and their unique sound. Then this, fast forwards the over sound and genre style into the early to mid 2000s when there was a counter culture in the US against capitalizing on everything. Like the last Woodstock, is what I'm remembering, muddy, overflowing toilets, being crazy overpriced water. And when I listened to this cover, the use of drones and wars. The US for good or ill has been in active war since 2001 and the latest use of drones. This song, this sound is visceral. Just wow, powerful. Thank you for the recommendation and thank you for the reaction.

I give advice to also listen to "remember when" bad wolves, and sorry for my bad english. Dolores R. I. P💗
It also helps in the "not being opportunistic" department that they had already gotten permission from Dolores to cover it, and she went that extra mile and offered to actually _be on the track,_ though unfortunately it seems that mental illness or some other, internal struggle caught up with her. The appearance of a lookalike model in the iconic gold paint and clothing from The Cranberries' original "Zombie" video was a beautiful way of still including Dolores, and putting much of the focus on her.
I was a tween and teen in the 90s, The Cranberries were part of the soundtrack to my youth. I didn't fully know the meaning behind the original song and video, but I've learned over time what it is about, and have a deeper appreciation for it and many other politically-charged songs by The Cranberries. For anyone who has been introduced to the Bad Wolves cover, but has not seen/heard the original: it is an absolute _must_ to watch The Cranberries original video, and read about the meaning behind the song, which is about The Troubles (ethno-nationalist conflict which centred around Northern Ireland, starting in the 1960s and considered largely settled with the Good Friday Agreement of 1998), and specifically about the 1993 IRA bombing in Warrington, England, which killed two little boys and injured dozens more. Just so you know, this is the slowest song they have. It's a powerful song and RIP Dolores but don't underestimate this band, they are AWESOME live and full of energy and power. He used to be a backup or replacement singer for bands like Guns N Roses and a few others but he got this group together and they are great.
i mean i think you misunderstood whats happening, they did not cover the song because she died.... they invited her to sing with themj during the cover and she died the morning she was supposed to sing with them.

It wasnt a way to boost themselves. they were set to do the cover WITH Delores. But she died the day of. They went ahead and released it that day or the day after in honor of her. They give the proceeds to her children. So in no way did they do it after she died and wanted to capitalize
