The performance of the 150 hp petrolturbo is surprisingly good! It is NO rocket, but not slow either with an official 0-100 in 8.9 (actual performance seems to be around 8.5, but we are counting peanuts here). During daily driving you can not tell much difference from a 190 hp TSI or 150 TSI due to the excellent torc and DSG gearbox.
The biggest difference is found in the sprint performance from 0-100 where the 150 hp is more than a 1 second slower than the 190 hp TSI Arteon. See video of the 190 tsi 0-100 here • Volkswagen Arteon 190 ...
On the other hand it is faster than the 150 hp TDI - see 0-100 here • VW Arteon 0-150 km/h 1...
and equally fast to the 190 TDI from 0-100! see video here of the 190 tdi sprint - • 2018 VW Arteon TDi DSG...

For boy racers might look slow, it's actually more than enough for a daily driven car.

I have driven the car for almost 2 months now and the power is just enough! Sure it would be nice with more power, but the car is not slow. The 1.5 has the lowest weight of the Arteon range and I personally rather have a good handling car than an heavy diesel engine (I hate diesel by the way) which is only good at motorways. I have 30 mm lowered suspension on the car and it is still very comfortable, yet capable of some entertaining handling.

Yes, I change my 400hp Golf 7 R for Passat 1.5 Variant. It's enough for daily car. Lots of traffic in Poland and not that much highways so its complately ok with this engine. Passat Variant B8 weight only 1450kg, but torque in this engine is in all rpms, from 1500 to 6000. 150 hp 2.0 TDI weight is over 100kg more. Sure I prefer 2.0 tsi 280hp, it has 4motion, dsg and after stage 1 around 370-380hp but the price is different than 1.5

@@myshdaniels 1450 kg is great for a Passat; I've got this engine in a Leon ST, at 1370 kilos, covers any needs.
Love Poland btw, can't wait to visit again, great country :)

@@iskrenasenov9174 I have the 130hp variant of this engine in my Leon hatch and i really like it, it's no hot hatch but for overtaking and merging into lanes it has more than enough power. Not to mention it's just as fuel efficient as the much smaller and weaker 1l TSIs.

@@16Cylinder how is the reliability after so many years? I am looking to purchase a used one for myself, with around 140k km , 1.5 tsi, 2019 Arteon. Any issues with it, do you still recommend?

Knowing VW, I’m assuming that they sacrificed horsepower in the upper RPM’s to give you a surge of torque in the lower rpm range
So basically, 2-3k rpm in this car might feel like 4-5k rpm in my car

Why make this engine in this kind of var. Its a to small engine. I have a arteon with 2.0 bitdi engine. Its ok but i wish they had a 3.0 engine

Too heavy with weak engine - i drove one with manual transmission and it was lazy

Define weak?! The new Peugeot 508 225 hp automatic does 0-100 in 8.4 seconds....czcams.com/video/GPRIVc74rLY/video.html
....basically the same for the Arteon 1.5 TSI DSG7 :-o (havent tried the manual version so no idea how that goes)

0-100km/h is irrelevant in a FWD car. 100-200km/h is more important. :)

This engine is mega trash. 🤭😃 Diesel is much better for this car

No. The 1.5TSI is more refined than the 2.0TDI. The same amount of torque but the 1.5 has it earlier and on a bigger rpm range. 2.0TDI is very shaky and rough sounding.
