  • I'm Maria (she/her) and welcome to Wild Knits Glasgow. I make videos about my life in Glasgow as a newbie knitwear designer and a mum of one. On this channel, you’ll find some knit & chat sit-downs, podcasts, reviews and exciting deep dives into specific knitting topics!
Join the gang and subscribe if you want to geek out about knitting topics with me.
In this video I dive into the world of summer yarns. We’re looking at why cotton and linen are some of the most well-loved choices for summer garments and which biosynthetic fibres can be alternatives. I fan girl over the wonder that is Tencel lyocell and also tell you how wool can work for a summer knit too. Let me know if you like this video & comment with your favourite summer patterns below!

This is excellent. You’re well informed analysis and friendly, no nonsense style of delivery is my jam! All great info. Your comments especially about biosynthetics has me reforming my opinion of the fibres you mentioned. I have knit summer garments in linen, cotton and bamboo, with my favourite so far being a linen blend. Currently working with Illimani Sabri cotton and alpaca and liking it. Tencel Lyocell may well be next on the needles. Keep up the good work. I’ll hit the subscribe button now …. Thanks from Canada 🇨🇦
