- I dive into what is Crypto restaking and my top altcoins for the coming restaking wave.
Crypto restaking or programable staking is set to change everything we know about crypto. It's primed to change everything and there are a handful of altcoins that are already building for the coming restaking shift.
Restaking was made popular by Eigen Layer, the team building restaking for Ethereum. Restaking allows projects to build using Ethereums core security, only for much cheaper than they would otherwise.
This allows an innovation boom as more projects, chains, oracles, and apps can deploy faster without having to worry about bootstrapping their own network.
If this all sounds confusing I swear I make it super simple in the video and break down the top altcoins I'm buying to prepare for the coming restaking narrative shift.

Do your own research always! I'm a normal guy who makes mistakes and has made plenty so far during this journey. So choosing to blindly copy what I'm doing isn't going to lead you to just making a ton of money. I've had investments where I've lost EVERYTHING. I don't just say do your own research as a legal covering but because you really need to do your own research and make your own call. If you don't understand what you're investing in you can lose A LOT of money! Especially in crypto which is super super risky. A lot of the projects I like to jump in are really small crypto projects which make them even more insane risky. Past performance doesn't mean the project will do the same thing in the future, no one can predict the future and what will happen next. I'm pretty passionate about this, I am by no means a professional investor. I'm on my journey to a million dollars, I don't even have the experience to have made a million dollars. All this is to share my journey because I believe there is value in watching me both succeed and fail. It's my story I'm sharing with all of you, DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH and don't just blindly copy me😄

Wanna highlight that Prisma so far has been doing really poorly. I'd be weary of touching it at the moment. The concept is really cool but they've fumbled the ball a bit with their unlocks and recently had an exploit. Might be able to turn it around, but as the saying goes "don't try to catch a falling knife."
If they level out might take a second look and possibly look to jump in. Restaking season isn't here yet, but will be huge when it hits IMO.

From my understanding the increased risk comes from the fact that you need to correctly validate all blockchains correctly instead of one. However this seems an asymmetric risk, since as long as your node network /operator and hardware are robust and you are not a malicious actor the risk does not seem to be increased compared to just validating a single blockchain. Interesting tech for sure.

whats confusing me a little is we can only change the withdrawal permission of the staking contract to one address (eigenpod for example). wouldnt this limit the amount of restaking that can be done?

@jesseeckel2 A Ponzi scheme is an investment scam that pays early investors with money taken from later investors to create an illusion of big profits. A Ponzi scheme promises a high rate of return with little risk to the investor. It relies on word-of-mouth new investors hear about the big returns earned by early investors . Spoiler alert your a word of mouth
There is no money taken from later investors. The yield comes from token emissions from various AVS's that sign up to use restaking rather than natively bootstrapping their own security.
I think Prisma and Picasso will skyrocket once eigen layer comes out and restaking narrative comes.Right now all attention is on AI & RWA

Yeah they're pretty right now with the spending. Good point you can see real time the effect of inflation on the buying power of the asset. It's constant downward pressure. Where as ETH is the opposite, and Eigen will enable many projects to also be profitable without having to be layer 2.

Nice! Yeah you can play the more risky bets if you know how to take profits. That being said I don't think Eigen is a more risky bet, just that some of the products built around it will be.

Normally it does when there's hype leading up to the halving. However right now the hype isn't from the halving but from the ETF, so it depends if we get a halving rally or not.

But Curve is a dex and liquidity solution. Prisma is a stablecoin issuer.
But don't validators also generate incom from fees colleccted from token holdens who delegate there tokens to said validator?
Some types do, mostly what you’re talking about is in Cosmos ecosystem.
But for staking (LST’s) validators do collect extra fees.

I think you misunderstood quite a few details there.

-Blockchains and things like Oracles have to secure themselves. New L1's today do this by bootstrapping their own validator set and paying out emissions via token inflation. Some Cosmos chains pay out as high as 17%.
Bitcoin even does this via miner rewards although it's much smaller at like 1% inflation.
Restaking allows instead these chains to rent security from Ethereum and reduce their overall token emissions much lower and get a higher level of security. So say a Cosmos chain might reduce from 17% to just 5%. Those emissions (the 5%) get paid to restakers. Thats where the yield comes from. Important to note those emissions would've been paid to that projects own validator set already, this is a huge cost savings.
Does that make sense?
