Age Of Empires 2 Player Tries Age Of Empires 4

I decided to play Age Of Empires 4 for the first time in a while. Being an Age Of Empires fan I didn't give aoe4 much of a chance, so here is the opportunity for the game to change my mind. As it turns out I am not very good at these games but I made it work.

I play both games and I find aoe4 better even though aoe2 is a masterpiece.
Some tips:
Since french have faster vill production you usually wanna go 8-9 on food and then 4 on gold to afford knights and upgrades.
Also French has cheaper eco techs so it is good to upgrade everything as fast as you can.
With french you always open knights. French knights is probably the strongest unit in the game in feudal age. You know your opponent must go spears to counter them so you can go archers almost right away since they are the best counter to spears.
Since you almost always go aggro with french you will have map control so it is a good idea to vacuum all food sources on the map before going farms. I usually go guild hall in age 3 (one of the best landmarks in the game), put it on wood and when you are about to transition to farms, like 20 minutes in, you collect the wood from the guild hall and then transition to farms.
2 tc french and trade boom french is also viable.

Interesting, I will have to experiment more with the game. AOE4 is a good game for sure. I appreciate your suggestions when I play it next I will be sure to try it, going in I kind of tried to adapt how I play aoe2 so I guess I have lots to learn 😊
