Another advantage of a placket opening over a zipper: no getting the zipper snagged or even broken. The placket works first time, every time. ☺️
I am obsessed to say the least! I’m not exaggerating when I say you INSPIRE me 🥰 hope you stay inspired and fulfilled yourself 🥰
Thank you so much! I’m hoping I can make more because I like this skirt even more than I expected. Plus I have about 10 Barbie tops now
In case you didn’t already know you can find heavy flannels at quilt shops. Love your work!
This turned out fabulous! I love how the pleats and plaid line up so when you move you get flashes of the lighter color.
Thank you so much! I’m hoping the flannel will go on sale more so I can make another skirt or two. It was actually kind of cold today and it was nice to wear out
*🍁Autumnal Adorableness SewRena!!! that romper is so darling & your updo is gorgeous. brilliant work Sis!!! 🎃🍂*
I love the look! I'm also obsessed with the high bun you're wearing in the reveal and the intro. So cute.
Thank you so much 💕
Loving this skirt and top, perfect staple pieces for fall! And I think 50s updos look amazing on you ❤
She looks absolutely amazing! The hair! The outfit. Stellar.
Another great fall look!
very nice. I poured over the Sears catalog endlessly growing up. best of times
Love seeing patterns that are lined up❤... you don't/ won't find this on off the rack items anymore. Not even in the high-end stores ❤❤❤❤❤
I love your outfits so much! You inspire me to make my own vintage clothing too! 😍
Beautiful ❤️
This reminded me of a dress I had in 3rd grade. It had a colorful plaid taffeta skirt with a black velvet bodice and made me feel so fancy.
You look beautiful. I'm in awe of what you do. Inspiring.
Serena, That is too cute! You look beautiful!!
Thank you 💕❤️
Absolutely stunning. Super chic too ❤
Wowowo it’s so pretty 🤩
You’re amazing at what you do!!
Thank you Rena....
Beautiful 😍
Greetings from South Africa 🇿🇦
Subbing flannel for wool is so clever!!!
Loving it I think about my mom everytime I watch you sew.
So super cute.
That outfit is gorgeous- it’s so elegant in its simplicity and really suits you. Wonderful idea to use a lighter brushed cotton to make a skirt if I need something a bit less heavy. Great look with your hair up-done as well! ❤
Thank you x
@SewRana • Thanks for the tips to use heavy flannel in place of wool and to look for it in men's shirting. The look is terrific and you definitely look as if you enjoy modeling it.
No problem! Before I started sewing with wool I worked with flannel and whenever I can get the heavy stuff I prefer it💕
Gorgeous!!! Simply darling!!!❤
Very stylish. Good choice on the colors.
You have excellent taste!
Been wanting to recreate these looks but for plus size . I love watching your videos and seeing the finished look. You always do the best job.

Looks gorgeous on you.
The brown & black is a great color combination.
Oh yes! I need to make a black belt eventually
Love your look from the intro! That yellow floral shirt is gorgeous. Love the final look too.
Absolutely gorgeous!!!
Excellent! The outfit came out perfect.
Such a cute outfit! You have amazing taste and skills.
Talk about perfection 🥰 💞
U R Simply Amazing ❤❤❤❤❤❤
It's time to take more sewing classes! You have inspired me!
😅 thanks so much! You got this 💕💕
Oooh, nice! I was a flannel and plaid fanatic in my teens and twenties respectively. 🤔I wonder if I still have my fav plaid skirt buried in a closet? 😄
I enjoy all the outfits you make, thanks for sharing 😊👍🏾 8:04
Thank you 💕❤️
I need your sewing skills cause I love your outfits
Love this outfit! 🥰
So cute! I love that you chose a knit for the top. Very few vintage style seamstresses ever use knits! Sewing with knits is so easy, fast and practical. I started using them in the late 60s. The brown plaid skirt looks great with the black top and captures the same vibe the red wool plaid did.
I don’t like sewing knits but I don’t know how to knit so I don’t have the options other vintage seamstresses have 😅. I do make an exception for the Barbie top. I’ve made it so much that I don’t mind anymore.
@@SewRena I dont knit either!! But sewing with them is totally different than using knit fabrics.
amazing construction!!
100% that barbie top is clutch; quick, simple, looks great on everyone! I sew with whatever thread is in my serger, Ive been using grey for months because its a huge PITA to change it... I just made a ss barbie top last week, still in the 80s here midday...ugh... thanks for the fun content!
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 omg I love the Barbie top so much! And the thing is I HATE sewing with knits 😂. I use it as a base layer in the winter and as a casual top. Thanks so much for watching 💕❤️❤️
I love it!😊❤
So cute!!! I love that you made a john john for your son. You have inspired me to get a bit more vintage in my sewing!!
It looks perfect! 😍
WONDERFULL AS ALWAYS
Thank you 💕❤️
I love everything about your style and your videos! Keep up the creativity and dedication, you're awesome

Your look today screams Nina Simone! ❤❤❤ 🔥 🔥
You are an inspiration! You make vintage glamorous. Do you wear vintage loungewear or gowns? I absolutely love vintage sleeping gowns and loungewear. I’ve started to to recreate because I haven’t found any vintage patterns. Any recommendations?
This is too cute
You’re soo talented! This is soo beautiful!❤❤
