- Come shop at a one of the biggest and best antique malls in Texas. You’ll see first hand how I garner inspiration for DIY projects from shopping trips like this. I’ll show you what I look for and give my honest opinion about prices-what’s fair and what’s ridiculous! I’ll give you some tips on identifying vintage items versus genuine antiques. And, of course, I’ll show you everything I bought!

I hope you will enjoy this video-I had so much fun in the Fort Worth Antique Mall! Since I started this CZcams channel, I have never released a video late UNTIL today. You will see that half way through the video the audio is corrupted in places. I have spent the entire day trying to figure out why it plays fine on my computer but not on CZcams. I am so sorry. I hope that you will still get some ideas and enjoyment from this less than perfect video!
I loved every bit of the video, perfect audio or not perfect audio! :) You are a delight and that comes through with or without sound! :)
I enjoyed it but l like seeing your dups you can see the things that could be and I love seeing you put them together and display them in your home You work so hard Thank You for sharing all you do!😊❤️
Oh, I wish I would’ve known you were here…
I would’ve ran over to Ft Worth to say hi!! 🙋🏻♀️☺️ (I’m in Dallas⭐️).
Enjoyed it! From a Texas girl, your prices are much better than ours here 😂
Love your style, and I have been watching you from the beginning of your journey.
Sherry, it definitely pays to know your stuff! AND I think seeking out treasures is almost more fun than getting them. I think garage sales and salvage
yards, etc., are the way to go. As you said some things are worth the money, like the card catalogue, but many are priced for profit... fun watching you catch the cheats! lol!
Thank you! It was a fun adventure and I came away with lots of inspiration. I did buy a few things at the Goodwill Outlet in Fort Worth and that was an adventure, too!
This was such a great video. I might never get to a Texas antique mall (and with those prices...I don't think I'm in too big a hurry) but having you point out different items and talk about them and compare them to things you have or things you've refurbished was SO MUCH FUN. Thanks Sherry. Do one of these again. :) As always, a terrific post!
Thank you, LeAnn! 😀 I was near tears all day struggling with technology. I am so glad you were able to enjoy the video despite all the audio issues!
Leeann please come to Texas . We do have a lot of good antique stores .I do know this store and it is wonderful in that it has so much to choose from . I live in Weatherford not far from Ft Worth and we have a lot of reasonable antique stores .And then there is Granbury , Azle , then further east closer to my sister home is Gladewater, Canton , Tyler . So many . Don’t give up . Texas is really a big state and a lot of good bargains . But whatever she finds it will be beautiful when she gets finished.
@@danastegall3193 That's best thing about being a local, Dana. You know all the BEST places! :)
@@OnlyLT I love watching Sherry’s channel and always wish I could go shopping with her and to think she was so close to my neighborhood. Next time Sherry maybe we could actually go shopping together! Also I always wonder where do you store all your extra supplies. I heard one time you have a store room ?
Wow! I guess I'll cross "Texas antique stores" off my vacation list, lol! Those prices were really kind of ridiculous. Great store to get decorating inspiration tho! Thanks for taking us along, it was a fun trip.❤
Thanks, Jan! They must get a lot of tourists because some of the prices were crazy-$400 for a corbel?!
I was cringing at some of those prices! It’s fun to go shop these antiques malls then we know what to thrift for!
@@CanterburyCottage exactly!😱
As a resident of Fort Worth who has a booth at an antique mall here, not all are priced as much as Montgomery Street! Montgomery Street has been around forever and has many great antiques. With construction all around them, they’ve been in fear of being closed and bulldozed over for several years now.
I am a vendor at Lone Star Antique Mall, about :15 from Montgomery Street. They have been in business for over 20 years. We have tons of great antique malls, vintage shops, thrift stores, and markets in our area. Good deals can definitely be found in abundance in Cowtown!
I'm a Waco Texan who can testify that the tourists crazed with Terminal Magnolia Syndrome and OMG-I-Love-Roundtop-Itis have infected our antiques industry here and driven up prices insanely. There are still smaller malls in smaller Texas towns where you can make better deals.
I am in awe of how much editing you clearly had to do to assemble all these clips into one awesome video!! Thanks for taking me to the antique mall with you! I really loved so many items. And I cant tell you how many times you showed something fabulous and I said out loud “Sherry can dupe that” lol. Cant wait till next week! Well done Sherry!
Sherri---I had so much fun, antique shopping with you! I think you were spot-on with the antique vs. vintage pieces . After my retirement from Nursing, I worked in a large antique mall. I am sure that every one of my paychecks made its way back into the mall (lol). I have been collecting pink milk glass for many years. Fostoria and Jeanette were companies that produced the glass. I`m so excited to see your DIY projects inspired by your adventure!
These prices were insane 😳 so happy to be able to thrift and yardsale most of my awesome vintage finds!
Being originally from Fort Worth, Montgomery Street Antique Mall is always a fun place to visit. But if you ever get back to Texas to prowl around, First Monday Trade Days in Canton (east of Dallas) is the place to visit. It covers many, many acres. There are pavilions, open air vendor areas, and shops. You need to plan on spending the entire weekend and bring your walking shoes!!! It is so awesome! But remember Texas weather...avoid the hot months!
Wow, sticker shock! Great finds!
Glad you enjoyed your visit to Texas. The Montgomery Street mall is a fun place to visit but the prices are outrageous…it’s always been that way. Hope you get back to Texas for another visit to some of our more moderately priced antique malls. Love your ideas and projects.
Your comments and ideas during your antique mall shopping was so interesting. Thanks for taking us along.
I had fun browsing with you. Thank you for “taking” me along with you.😊
I really enjoyed this video. I, too, like flour sifters. I repurposed one by using it as the shade of the pendant light over my kitchen sink. Others I have lined up on a deep window sill in the kitchen. Each one has a little plant in it. I simply tie a red ribbon on the top of the handle for Christmas. Thanks for a fun video !
Always love going through antique malls, reminds me of easier times on my grandparents farm. Looking forward to your projects!
Well everything is bigger in Texas including the prices!!!! WOW
I feel like you will do some dupes that we can afford!!! I'm glad you had a good trip!!!
Thanks, Charlotte! I am working on the dupes already. I think they are turning out really good-I can’t wait to show you!
Loved the tour. More, please
Wow, so many goodies there but definitely pricey. I love what you got.
Enjoyed it very much! Those prices!!!!..🤣. They sure are proud of their things, aren’t they!..😂. There really were a lot of beautiful things for sale though. I do love the sea foam green color, in the old dishes, always have, and some of the dark wooden furniture and picture frames. I am excited to see what you wind up duping! We
Thanks for sharing your adventures! It was fun.
Excellent! Yes! I loved shopping with you. Your choices were great. Thank you so much!❤️
My heart rate quickened looking at all the wonderful ideas at that mall! TFS!
This was so fun, really enjoyed this video. Can't wait to see what you do with your items. The bee clock is really nice. Thank you 🐝
Watching your video brought back a memory. My ex husband used to collect Scotch tartan products. I found that same Thermos bag for him that you showed in the video. I gave it to my ex Mother in Law to use it for a “gift bag” another Christmas gift (watch) for him from my Parents, his Parents and myself. On Christmas, I was shocked to see that she took a pair of scissors and CUT down the side of the bag to get the other gift in! She took a great vintage collectible bag and totally trashed it!!! 😱😮😡😳😔
That was fun to see. I got some good ideas for things I already have. Thanks for taking us along. I loved how you found so many of the images in public domain.
WOW! The card catalog was wonderful!
Ms. Sherry: that was so fun! We could all hear the clicking of your brain cells a million miles an hour!! It was great to see how, with all your experience, you were able to tell what prints and items were not actually vintage or antique. Very helpful for our own shopping!
It is good for artists to see other people's art to get the creative juices flowing. I am not talking about copying, I am talking about the inspiration that it engenders. We look at something, and the mind just spins out in all directions with ideas that are totally different than what we are looking at. I call it "Loading the Hump", as in the way a camel loads its hump for the journey. Artists benefit by loading our creative "humps", looking at other's work, to chew and process mentally, then to transmorgify into new artist endeavors. Thanks for all you do for us! Looking forward to next week's video!
I really enjoyed the stroll around that mall, and got some nice ideas. Thanks.
Thanks for taking us with you on this field trip. Even though the prices were based on the sellers' highest hopes, the inspirations from this tour were of great value and I'm looking forward to seeing how you interpret them in upcoming projects. Any regrets that you didn't pick up a piece of the pink hobnail to go with your strawberry collection?
Just LOVE you best of all! Authentic, genuine you blow my mind! Sherry you Rock!!
Thank you, Susan! I was so disappointed with the video/audio quality this week. I’m so glad that you can overlook that and focus on the content. I really appreciate you!😊
What a fun video Sherry! I would love to see more of these. Can't wait to see what you do with all the ideas you brought home in your notebook!
I am so excited to show you the dupes! I couldn’t wait to get home and start them!😀
YES, MORE! a learning adventure
I honestly can't wait to see your inspiration video because this was fun but my goodness those prices. Thanks again and have a blessed trip home
It was a treat! I certainly can only afford to look, though. Thank you for sharing and I look forward to your creations♥️
That was fun, looking forward to seeing what you bought!
Loved the video, can't wait to see you redo some of them.
So enjoyed being with you and all your insight I’m in ca an we don’t have the antiques like you do in the south. Thanks for taking us with you, take good care of yourself sure hope you keep your hoppy going thanks.
Enjoyed the shopping thanks for sharing
Loved exploring the antique mall with you, but wow, I couldn’t afford much there!!
That was so fun. Thank you for taking us along. So much to see. Can’t wait to see the dupes. 👏🌿☀️🌿👏
I can’t wait to show the dupes! I think a couple of them look more antique than the originals!😜
I love all the things you bought, I really like the clock. I enjoyed the video, I love looking at antique and vintage stores 😊
Great video!!! It is so nice to see the different prices in other states!!! Thanks for sharing 😊
Oh my gosh the card catalog is soooooooo amazing i love that! I wanted everything it was so awesome. The visions and ideas i got from watching this video were numerous. The old 7up crate would make a nice shelf with all the little niches. Industrial pumpkins were super cool and my favorite was still the card catalog but not the the price. I definitely enjoyed shopping with you.ty for taking us along
Very entertaining! Your comments made me smile. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you, Paula! I’m so glad you enjoyed it!☺️
Oh, I so enjoyed this and saw so many wonderful things that would have come home with me.I can’t wait to see what you’ve got planned to dupe.
thank you for sharing Sherry.... and I love your pink sweater that you are wearing!...looks pretty on you dear.
As always you give such great ideas through your browsing. Can't wait to see some of your ideas to dupe their "antiques".
Thank you, Janae! I have already started the DIY dupes, and I am so excited to show you!
and Mrs T Love this video and what great items you bought looking forward to seeing what and where you display them
Thank you, Mrs. T! I was doing some rearranging yesterday to find spots for my new finds! I’ll be sure to show you next week!
Love that clock! Wonderful video.
I loved your narrative! I was thinking the same thing and then laughing because you said it out loud.❤ I'm glad you were able to find some reasonable items.❤
Love watching you shop and listening to you. Would love to see more followed by your flips. Love your channel! TFS 😊
Thank you, Bonnie! I have already started making projects inspired from this trip. I can’t wait to show you-I think they turned out really good.
thank you for taking us antiquing with you!
P.S i just saw a cute gnome Christmas ornament video you may enjoy: DIY Gnome Christmas Ornaments! (by crafter) Taffleberry Lane. they would look sooo cute with one of your banners!!!!
Loved this. So neat to see things in others places. 🥰
VERY OUTSTANDING VIDEO!! LOVED ALL THE BEAUTIFUL INTERESTING THINGS. YES I LOVED GOING SHOPPING WITH YOU! I I LOVE OLD VITAGE AND Antique THINGS! 💕♥️💕 THANK YOU FROM TUCSON, ARIZONA 🌵🌺🌵
Can’t wait to see your versions! That was a very pricey antique mall!
That was a lot of fun. I can't wait to see your dupes!
This video was so much fun! I would enjoy more of these videos. Can't wait to see next week's video. Thank you.
Oh, thank you, Ninja Nina! 😊
That reminds me of this really cool little antique shop we found unexpectedly in a tiny town in Maryland. There are my kind of antiques (that I can afford) and then there are those kinds of antiques (that I can't). I did manage to buy 3 one hundred year old postcards! I just view the second kind of antique shop as a really cool museum. And hold my purse really close.
I just like to see you create 😮
I understand going to this places will give you more ideas 👍
Looked so fun!!!!
What a enormous mall! I loved seeing what you had that was similar, but was surprised by the prices… I’ve been to Texas many times and the Northeast was always more expensive than the south! But not anymore!! So happy you had a fun trip… didn’t mind that the video was back on Tuesday 🙂
A very enjoyable video! Thank you, it was fun!
Absolutely great video!
That was fun Sherry! Most of the pricing is right up there! Love the secondhand shopping for the better pricing but you got some great inspiration so can't wait to to what your next video! T'rese 😃
I loved this and the fact that you showed the prices too!! Thank you for taking us along. Loved it!! Some beautiful items in there, especially if you had a big bank account for some of that lovely old furniture!! I love the items you bought!!!
Oh, thank you so much, Rachel! ☺️ I’m so glad you enjoyed this. I sure enjoyed my shopping trip!😜
I loved walking through this antique mall with you. Your comments were hood to hear.
Now I’m really excited to watch next week when you dupe them at a much lower cost.
This was a great shopping video. I like that you showed the tips. It was more interesting to me. Love your channel.
Thank you, Teanette! I always want to share some tips that you might not have thought of!
This was really fun. I enjoyed it a lot. I did get tickled at times when I see something that you have in your own home. I do have to say that some of there things was a tad bit over priced. It is amazing what we can find at Goodwill, Salvation Army or a thrift store n estate sales that are vintage or antiques. Since the internet people are getting smarter n looking up what things are worth.
I remember back in the 90tys when I went to estate sales I could find so many cool n old things but not anymore.
As I said many times your a very creative lady n many of what you’ve done over could be mistaken as something vintage.
Thanks Sherry for taking us along. It sure was great to see so much antiques n vintage items.
♥️♥️♥️😊👍👍👍👍
I enjoyed this video so much. Great items and great ideas. I realized that I have quite a number of antique treasures at home, items that belonged to my parents and grandparents. Years ago I decupaged some magazine file boxes with maps: nice! I have many old stamps that could be used to decoupage a box or a tray. I'd love to see more videos like this .Thank you for sharing this trip. Regards from Chile. 🌺🌻
Thank you, Rosemarie! I’m so glad that you enjoyed this video. I had so much fun browsing through that huge antique mall! (My husband was with me, and he was a really good sport, even though he would have preferred to be watching sports on TV!)
You were in my stomping grounds!!! I hope you received a warm and friendly Texas welcome. You visited one of the most expensive antique malls in our area. 😕 But I hope you had fun.
Great video Sherry and the sound glitches didn't bother me a bit. Loved shopping with you. My sister would have gone nuts for the S&P booth. I can't wait to see what you do with the candle holders and the beautiful lantern.
Nice shopping trip! Interesting to see what you are drawn to. Sometimes those "malls" have crazy prices.
I loved going on the shopping trip with you. I can’t wait to see what you make with your fines.
I loved shopping with you!! ❤
Loved the video of the antique store in Texas. It’s interesting to see the pricing as it puts things in perspective in your local area. Keep on doing your amazing work of inspiring us all!
Thank you, Marie! I can’t complain about the local store that sells salvaged corbels for $89 anymore (way better than $400)!
I really enjoyed this video. Can’t wait to see what you diy next week
Thank you, Jean! I have already started DIYing projects inspired by this trip, and I can’t wait to show you!
Sherry, I'm glad you enjoyed the Montgomery Street Antique Mall. It has always been expensive but I enjoyed visiting there several times a month. Many good ideas. Thank you for bringing me back there as I now live in Florida.
I’m so glad you enjoyed it! I expected high prices, but I didn’t mind. I went there for inspiration more than merchandise, so I had a great time. I didn’t have much room in my suitcase to bring things home anyway.
That was exciting shopping
You did a good job showing us you shopping trip!
Thank you, Libby!
Well we have a saying in Texas, Go Big or Go Home! Glad you found a few things and I hope you liked Texas. Sorry it is still a little warm here. I can't wait to see what kind of DIY's you come up with. you are so talented.
So enjoyed this video! They really had some beautiful things But… majority of the thins was way out of my price range!! Ty for taking us along on your shopping trip
Looking forward how you are going to style it.
I enjoyed the video, because I can't do things like that anymore. Can't wait for next week.
What fun!...more more please
Now when I go into an antique store I’m going to be looking more closely at the items I’m interested in. Thank you for todays lesson in Antique Shopping. I didn’t think the audio was bad at all. 💕
Thank you, Kim! I really appreciate that! I can’t tell you how frustrated I was yesterday. I just want to craft (and shop), so dealing with technology issues is so aggravating.
Looks like fun!
OMG what outrageous prices. You found some awesome pieces and affordable too. 😊🤗😚😙😗❤
Wow, what a fabulous array of treats! I adore all the pigeon-hole shelves and card catalogue drawers. I suspect I would have come home with an armful of vintage tins if I had been there 🤩I was wondering if you ever hunt down vintage items on eBay. I've had quite a bit of luck finding specific decor and furniture bits I've been after here in the UK. It's been particularly good for vintage needlepoints, prints and postcards.
I really enjoyed this video..I'd like to see more of these.
Fun shopping trip Sherry, but I want be going there anytime soon.....prices were way to high for me !!! Looking forward to next weeks video !
I so enjoyed going with you. Thank You! Beautiful wonderful things. I couldn't believe the prices ,wow. Going soon to Sugercreek Ohio on the 20 th this month. I can hardly wait. I hope to find things I've been looking for. They have a huge fabric outlet there. Yippee! Love ya Sherri. God Bless, Rebekah
You are so welcome, Rebekah! Is Sugarcreek near Amish country? I would love to visit there someday, too. Hope you have a great time!
Sherry, thank you for sharing your trip with us. I live about 45 minutes away from Ft. Worth. I never knew about that huge Antique mall. It is so nice, every thing was displayed so well. I hope you enjoyed your visit to my home state.
You are so welcome, Kathy! We also had a lovely lunch at the tea room inside the mall. You should plan a visit there. It was so much fun!
Sherry, I loved the speaking voice that you used with this video. It was so soothing and easy to listen to. Thanks.
Oh, thank you Brenda! Some viewers complain that I talk too slow!
Thanks for the reply. Feel like I am hearing from a Rock Star!
I love the converted lantern, I use old lanterns in my garden area for a little quirkiness. One idea for it could be a little faux terrarium.
I love that ideas, Violet! How cute would that be?!
This was fun!😊
Fun outing! Thanks for bringing us along! Please be sure to link the strawberry image when you do the DIY video.
Thank you! Yes, I will. I will share several vintage image links next week!
Hi Sherri. Late watching this video. So jealous of your visit to this antique mall! What a heavenly place for antique lovers! Don’t know how you could resist not renting a U Haul trailer. Lol. Looking forward to seeing your purchases placed in your home. Great video.
Love your natural voice in this video, full of your personality. Usual video voice is much more controlled
I enjoyed your shopping video. I go to these vendor malls where multiple people sell their family heirlooms. Some are very expensive and others more reasonable. Can't wait to see your magic.
Sherry so glad you got to come to Texas. Not sure if you know but the saying is "Everything is bigger in Texas, and that includes our prices! I can't wait to see what you will be able to dupe.
I do hope you enjoyed your time here and that missed the hot days. ☀
It was really hot, but I had a fantastic time. We were there for a wedding, but I was also able to go to the Goodwill Outlet, the Ft. Worth Stockyards, a concert at Billy Bob’s, and a NASCAR race! I came home and slept for two days!
I am originally from Ft. Worth and haven’t been to the Montgomery Street Mall in a couple DECADES!😮 The prices look insane🤪 I have a booth at an Antique Mall in Lampasas, Tx and our prices are a faction of the city. ❤️
