- Hello Everyone!
Rebuilding the rear brake caliper was the next step in the Honda Goldwing project. The bike sat for over a decade, outside for most of it, before I got it. The calipers and master cylinders were in very bad shape and required a lot of work to be useable again.
The next step will bet to install the rear brakes!
Thank you for watching!
My 1982 goldwing has all the same problems your making videos on. Thanks for taking the time, it's rare to see someone using kroil as well!
Thanks for watching! Glad I could help! Kroil is really good stuff!
Never seen that internal adjustable wrench thing, pretty neat tool.
You need to use a little white paint on the HONDA logo, that way you get a red, white and blue caliper. I was not expecting the red caliper, figured you would have done it black, but it looks good.
I like your idea of the red, white and blue color scheme! The red and black cans were next to each other and I said "what the heck, let me go red!!"
Your a God send my brother and I where given a 84 and ots been sitting since 95 this is also my first project bike these are gonna help so much when we start working on it soon
That’s awesome to hear! Have fun with the project!
Fantastic job congratulations thanks mate for your support goldwing, I have been trying my for last 2 years but no time and England not easy for parts 😢
i gotta find that can of schmutz 😂
Great closeup video, nice job
Looking good
Thanks 👍
Instead of the aluminum "bush", how about a PVC bush??? just get new pistons and seals. Your life relies on clean, unpitted stoppers. Im sure it will work. new parts are cheaper than life.
Yes, new parts would have been the best option.
Do you lube the rubber rings with brake fluid or seal lube I could read bottle in video I'm working on my 1981 1100 back was stuck I got it all clean out now and ready to rebuild mine only has one ring and it looks fine so I didn't buy another one cause they said would have to order it
I'm in the early process of rebuilding a 1980 Goldwing and find that the seal and rebuild kits vary wildly in price . I get that the OEM stuff is going to be higher but can you recommend a reasonably priced rebuild kit supplier for brakes and carburetors? Thanks for the videos. Really appreciate the content Brother.
I use partzilla.com, reveille.com, amazon.com and jpcycles.com as well as craigslist.com, Price and availability will be all over the place.
Thanks for watching!
What did you lube seals with
Anti-seize on the bleeder
Yes! Good idea!
