- McFarlane Toys got Wave 6 out FAST, and, well, this one is a mixed bag. With only two new characters and four repaints, does this wave rise to the heights of past waves? Let’s talk about it in a new UNBOXING & REVIEW.

With a strong looking Wave 7 on the horizon, how are YOU feeling about Wave 6?
Wave 6 to me is still a mixbag, but I still love this line here. Ones I am definitely picking up are Hal Jordan, Sinestro and the Justice Lord Superman. Those will be the ones I'll be adding to my collection whenever they are available to pick up. Looking forward to Wave 7 the most, and can't wait of what Wave 8 will look like as well?
Those would be my recommendations for pick ups in this wave. Lord Superman is better than expected! I’m hoping Wave 8 continues the momentum Wave 7 looks to be picking up!

Getting tired of repaints and not seeing any thing that hasn’t been done yet. There are SO MANY characters they can do that can be so awesome! Just read comments on different threads and see what people are wanting. I myself would love to see a new cyborg and something from the fabled wave 4 Kenner line.
Wave 7 looks to be picking up with some new figures (although still several likely repaints). I get it, but I also get frustrated by the repaints in quick succession and lack of new options sometimes. Cyborg is high on our list, as well. With vac-metal, please!

Awesome review of the wave! I don't mind repaints too much. This wave was pretty cool. Though I am not a huge fan of the Golden Flash. Surprisingly, that Golden Batman looks pretty damn good. And yes, I was one of those kids that had a Tech Shield Batman figure from the Dark Knight Collection. I think I might wanna get that one after all.
One of the figures I wanted to have a modern Super Powers release was Hal Jordan. I was so happy that he's a part of this wave and even happier that I have him in my collection. Don't worry, I ain't offended by Chris' BS rating for Batman of Zur En Arrh. That version isn't for everyone. Though I do agree they should've used the same body mold as the blue and gray, solid black, and the golden versions. So I'm kinda 50/50 on that.
Justice Lord Superman is my favorite in the bunch, and if they make a Kingdom Come version of Superman, they gotta go with this mold. Sinestro looks really cool and probably the only villain I own. Overall, a good wave. Just disappointing that the first golden figure wasn't Superman. But I'm happy to know he's up next. Let's hope McFarlane does this right.
Also remember the Rainbow Batman suits from the late 1950s? Because McFarlane makes a lot of Batman figures, I have no doubt in my mind thay he will make a set of those. I just hope he doesn't use the same body type as the first Batman release.
Good rundown! The Gold Batman definitely has that nostalgia factor and paint scheme that makes it stand out over Flash. Lord Superman was the surprise. We knew Hal and Sinestro would be great, but that one was better in hand than the pictures did it…”Justice!”
I had forgotten all about the rainbow colored Batman run! I think there was a Batman 66 style done like that wasn’t there? You’re probably right we’ll see that! 😂

Fair review, generous even. This was the first wave I didn’t really bother to pick up in its entirety. But the good are very good (or so good, as you say)! I’ll be interested to see the Corps War Sinestro. I think it’ll probably top this one for me. Keep up the great work, guys! Also…lol at the Luke Evans comment. That’s spot on!

There are 2 versions of the Hall of Justice ⚖️ The superpower team Guardian Galactica Show, do you think they will make that play set that would be really nice 👍
I think we’ll eventually get a Hall of Justice (and hopefully a Hall of Doom too), but I’m not sure which version. Either would be awesome!

One thing that I have an issue with concerning Sinestro is that he's colored incorrectly. The Superfriends version didn't have black in his costume but navy blue. The version we're getting is how Sinestro first appeared in the comics. Do you think McFarlane will release another version of this with the navy blue as a future variant?
I mean, probably not out of the question with McFarlane’s history of repaints!
Batman of Zur-enn-arrh is my faved out of the wave. I'm not a big super powers fan. But love me some Zur-enn-arrh.
And see, that’s the beautiful thing about these. Something for everyone. That Batman wasn’t our favorite, but so glad there are people who love him, even when they’re not major fans of the toy line itself. Very cool! Appreciate you watching and commenting!
Does anyone know if the Gold Variant Batman and Flash are going to show up in retail or back online? I missed my chance on Entertainment Earth, and they don't seem to be anywhere else. They're currently going for a small fortune on ebay!
I’ve not seen these out anywhere, but I heard some were finding them in store at GameStops. Amazon sometimes restocks randomly too, at retail price (not scalpers). Hopefully someone else can give you a more definitive answer!

I think the Justice Lord Superman could be repainted as an Earth Two Superman as well as a Kingdom Come Superman. Do you think McFarlane will do the Justice Society in some form eventually (hopefully in Earth Two form)? That would justify a repaint of Batman too...

So far I think wave 6 has to be one of the weakest... Sinestro and Hal are pretty much the only figures I'm interested in buying, as for the repaints, altough some of them can be cool like nightfall Robin or Black suit Batman, I think the golden ones are ugly... Batman looks kinda decent because at least some of his parts are still black but damn, that Flash looks ugly as hell... Zur en arrh Batman And Lord Superman are okay, but I'm not particularly excited to get them. As for Hal and Sinestro, they're really good, specially sinestro who looks spot on. Wave 7 sounds promising, and I can't wait to see kilowog, Brainiac and his Ship, And Blue Beetle and Ship too, and I can't wait for you guys to review them! Pretty much how we feel, as well. Lord Superman is better in person, but the stars of the show are 100% Hal and Sinestro. Appreciate the compliment! The handsomeness depends on the day! 😂

No pre-orders available for characters in this wave yet in the UK .. odd seeing as already available in USA.
That is odd! Can you order online from the US? Not sure how that affects shipping costs though.

Sorry to hear that! I think the UK, Canada, and Australia got the last couple waves before the US, so very surprising. Hopefully soon.

Ah ok. There were a lot of scalpers selling the exclusives on eBay from the UK, Canada, and Australia, which is why I assumed that. I may be misremembering or they ordered from overseas and made enough profit to cover shipping. In any case, I sure hope you are able to track down this wave soon!

Have the original Kenner Super Powers figures but I would get Hal GL just to have his figure to “play” with. Would love to get that Sinestro but have no idea where the figures show up in Kansas. Walmart hasn’t gotten any new figures in forever and GameStop has spotty collections of the figures.
Yeah seems like most Walmarts are just not updating the stock (or not being sent any). You may need to go the online route. Entertainment Earth shows Sinestro and GL will be restocking soon and is available for purchase.
Ordered Super Friends Sinestro, black cape Tim Drake Robin and Hal GL from Entertainment Earth, all of which were on back order. Unfortunately the other day EE cancelled by Robin order, guess they were informed Robin will mot be made anymore. Now I’m worried about Sinestro and Hal figs. 😬

Zur en arrh is actually a timely figure... he is a major villain in the current Batman comics by Chip Zdarsky. I haven't read the story yet, but it seems well received.
Zur en arrh was brought back years ago during Grant Morrison's run... I think he wanted to make every Batman story Canon, even the weird silver age stuff... so he brought it in as a backup personality for Batman in a weird way.

This was the most lazy cash grab wave ever, i will only be picking up Hal Jordan, id like them to produce a Kenner style Lex Luther in Power Suit as had that as a kid. I could have accepted the Gold & Black painted Batman's of this and the last wave had they bothered to do a Keaton face, but that broad face doesnt work IMO only on classic detective.
Yeah, definitely not the strongest wave. The Lord Superman was a surprisingly strong figure in hand. Sinestro is great too, if you’re a fan. Don’t count that one out!
I think a big problem is these toys are made for adults and adults who buy toys are lame so the figures reflect that.
What does that make adults who take the time to watch and comment on adults who buy toys? 🤔
