My brother overdosed and passed away a few months ago. He was in his 20's....loved this band. This song reminds me of watching him turn into someone--something-- that wAS NOT my brother. However, your post caught my attention because my younger brother also got into trouble recently and things were terribly upside down in our family...despite my fathers loss. So I totally understand that drugs play a role in most cases.. luckily my brother is alive. Although, it could have been worse. I pray for you and your family. Drugs and bad influence don't mix.... i mean by experience and by observing others. Best of wishes and there is always resurrection, which is what I believe in. It gives hope :)

This song helped me overcome depression growing up. Went through a rough time and everyone expected me to not make it. Im now 25, have a house, and a beautiful daughter that means the world to me.
It really embodies those intense emotions. Life is like that sometimes an artist makes something that embodies an emotion so well that it helps you feel it. That can either help cope or bring up the bad but part of it is how you decide to take it in. I hope you are feeling better.

This song embodies so much pain and heaviness from the perspective of someone who lost a close friend or loved one to an evil vice. It reminds me of one of my cousins who nearly lost her life to drugs and alcohol. It reminds me when I nearly did the same. This song is absolutely bone chilling

There's something about this song.. I mean.. it has such an emotionally depressing atmosphere and yet whenever I listen to it I get nostalgia. It's great... How could a band like deftones, fucking NU-Metal design such brilliant noise? It's amazing really. But what's even more amazing is how a song that's made by a band under the genre of Nu-Metal can get over TEN MILLION views on CZcams, yet alone by a random channel that has no association with the band. Simply beautiful....
I don't really classify Deftones as nu metal because even when Korn and Limp Bizkit got really popular, they still had a pretty original sound and stood out from the rest. I just think of them as an alt rock band tbh. Deftones are weird like that.
Beaten bloody as a kid drugs booze psychological damage from cruelness insanity. Lived in my car for over a year washing my body and hair with cold bottled water i warmed up with my heater. Mindless dead end job...15 years later that is gone I'm married with 1 child and making good money and a clean fresh new apartment. When i feel down i come here to reflect and remember friends iv lost as well. Life is much better now but i still sometimes slide back into a familiar hole for a while and remember what things used to be like. Can't help but remember...life events like that scar you forever.

Nj.2011 I became a fan of Deftones at a difficult point in my life surrounded by struggles and adversaries. I lived in my car technically for about 3 months and being winter time I remember couple of time running out of gas and everything else that comes with that. throughout it all I stayed positive and this band has been with me through some walks of my life. Now I have 3 kids and a wife, a decent place and 2 cars, I love where my life is. I LISTEN to Deftones now and I sit back and chill remembering the past and where I am now. Stay strong.

Got on Hydromorphone and that was the beginning of the end. I’m currently withdrawing now-It’s hell. Just a few more days til I get my medicine that’s slowly killing me inside. I’ve been through so much in my short life... I long for the person I used to be and for the person I thought I’d be before illnesses took all of it away from me. See, I’ve changed... perhaps that’s why I love this haunting song.

Mindless dead end job...15 years later that is gone I'm married with 1 child and making good money and a clean fresh new apartment. When i feel down i come here to reflect and remember friends iv lost as well. Nj.2011 I became a fan of Deftones at a difficult point in my life surrounded by struggles and adversaries. I lived in my car technically for about 3 months and being winter time I remember couple of time running out of gas and everything else that comes with that. throughout it all I stayed positive and this band has been with me through some walks of my life. Now I have 3 kids and a wife, a decent place and 2 cars, I love where my life is. I LISTEN to Deftones now and I sit back and chill remembering the past and where I am now. Stay strong.

Got on Hydromorphone and that was the beginning of the end. I’m currently withdrawing now-It’s hell. Just a few more days til I get my medicine that’s slowly killing me inside. I’ve been through so much in my short life... I long for the person I used to be and for the person I thought I’d be before illnesses took all of it away from me. See, I’ve changed... perhaps that’s why I love this haunting song.
