You probably are thinking that you're just on CZcams and you don't have crazy die hard fans but I am a DIE HARD fan of yours chef John. You are to me what Justin Bieber is to 14 year old girls and I almost want to apologize for it
+Sarah M Same here! He is the MAN! My go-to guy for every recipe I need. My (his) lasagna is legendary among my family and friends. I just made a pan for my kid's play date today, for the kids and moms, and I'm a hero. One mom even brought a piece home to her hubby and she texted me his compliments.
I have made this at least a hundred times in the past year. Sometimes I add asparagus or onions. Sometimes with chicken sometimes with only sausage. It lends itself to so many variations that it is really what I make when all I have is some orzo and cheese in the house. I love that Chef John teaches us to cook and not just how to follow a recipe. So easy for mid-week dinner and following day lunch. XOXOXOXO to Chef John!!!!!!!
Indeed, I did a variant of the orachiette pasta recipe with sausage, onion and kale, my only thing I did differently was add some tomato paste. The end result was amazing, and it is similar to making a risotto, that actually had me thinking I need to make a risotto for real and try to see if I can pull it off. Chef John is awesome, and he's hilarious too, you should see his recipe for Russian Doughnuts, there's a few puns in there that had me splitting my sides.
You are spot on in saying that "Chef John teaches us to cook and not just how to follow a recipe". Anyone can follow a recipe, but it takes creativity (art) to cook after learning the basic techniques (science) -- cooking is both an art and a science.
+Food Wishes I started trying to cook about 6 months ago, and luckily, I found your channel relatively quickly. My wife (who works a little later than me most days) would often arrive home to the sound of your voice, and for a while she would laugh and say, "Oh, watching Chef John again?". Now, however, after having cooked about 5 or 6 of your dishes, and with a decent amount of success, the laugh now sounds a bit more like a giggle of true delight and anticipation. You, sir, are not only an excellent cook, but an excellent teacher. Cooking is SO fun! Thank you, Chef John!!!!! = )
I LOVE the idea of you demonstrating more one-pot recipes for us, Chef John! They're so easy, quick, and filling which is exactly what a college student or a busy parent needs. I look forward to them. :)
I haven't made a single one of your recipes, but I love watching you make them. These videos are also the only ones that make my husband stop what he's doing to watch with me!
This has been my legit go-to recipe for 2 years now. So fast, cheap and delicious. I actually put a big spoonful of ricotta right into the pot while I am cooking it.
Chef John, this recipe has changed my life. I’ve been making riffs and varieties of this dish biweekly for as long as I can remember. (chicken thighs, different fresh/dried herbs, extra & different cheeses to finish) I’d like to say a big thank you for this recipe (and all of your videos) because it’s definitely been a staple one-pot meal when i need something to eat and reheat for a few days. With all that said, it’s delicious!
+God of Thunder (UKKONEN) really? the sad part is, i never find the place who sell the Italian sausages in my neighbourhood... do you have any tips to substitute the italian sausages?
This is remarkably similar to your 'chicken asiago orzo pasta' recipe from 2009. That was one of the first videos of yours I saw, and I've been following you since. You have almost single-handedly taught me to cook just by posting all of these videos, so thank you very much CJ.
Oh my god, thank you SO MUCH for this recipe. I cooked this tonight and it tasted amazing and now I have leftovers for about a week and almost no dishes to clean. You're amazing!
Chef John, are you in my head? How do you know EXACTLY what I want to make for dinner, before I even know what I want? Love your channel & your sense of humor. Keep up the awesome videos!
I've made this a couple of times and added some variations. It is the bomb! My family loves it and my son ensures that there's no leftovers. I highly recommend this dish for a cold winter evening.
I'm with Sarah. I cannot tell you how much I enjoy your cooking, Chef John. I've tried several of your recipes and they've turned out wonderfully. Instructions are so easy to follow and the combination of spices and tastes is tremendous. Very entertaining narrative, too. Well done!
Just made the one pot Orzo dish. My roommate is still eating it. Love it! Comfort food at its best. I forgot the ricotta, so added some heavy cream in the final cooking stage. Ate the dish with garlic bread. A+
Chef John, this is an awesome and convenient recipe. Love how everything can be cooked in one pot. I did add some personal touches to mine. I used lamb sausage that I spiced up with some red pepper flakes, and chicken thighs. I also used whole wheat orzo and added some peppers, celery, and onions, so it turned into a hybrid pasta jambalaya. Love your videos. Subscribed!
As usual CJ makes it very simple into what looks like something Master chef prepared and it delights everyone. I start many food and cooking conversations with "Well, Chef John says." and the room goes quiet with ears perked up.
this is honestly one of the better food wishes videos (theyre all gold though) for showing a basic easy one pot pasta formula - i can speak from personal experience that this basic technique works across the board, the version i do regularly has farfalle, 2 lbs of chicken breast, and a jar of alfredo sauce instead of red sauce. this is an amazing launching pad for whatever you personally like
One-pot?! Great idea chef John! I love this recipe too, wish you a happy new year with loads of new recipes! Thanks for your work! I'm a huge fan fan from England!
I mixed this recipe with your pasta risotto. Since I had an organic paprika box that was near the end I ended up making a "stroganoff sausage orzotto" that was oddly satisfying. Thanks for all the inspirations you give
I made this dish on Friday evening, and then warmed up the leftover two nights later and served each bowl with an over-easy egg on top (the orzo had dried out a little in the fridge). It was a 'hit' BOTH times. Thank you, Chef!
i made this today, & it was sooo easy & sooo delicious! thank you chef john! the only change i made was to cook on low covered for 24 min & then to let stand for 5 min
Aaah another glorious year of chef John dad jokes, can hardly wait...! Great recipe, my mum makes a similar dish but as Greeks we use crumbled feta on top. Thanks for sharing as always :))

"or zo I've heard"..... I've watched this video about a dozen times to remind myself how to make this, and I still chuckle at that one.
You probably are thinking that you're just on CZcams and you don't have crazy die hard fans but I am a DIE HARD fan of yours chef John. You are to me what Justin Bieber is to 14 year old girls and I almost want to apologize for it
Me too
Amen and Hallelujah!!!
+Sarah M Don't die too hard... I'll leave the other puns to Chef John ;)
haha same here!

This is now a food staple at my house, we have this at least once a month now.

Artie Wagoner you just have me the idea to add asparagus :) that’s lunch sorted for today
I just made it with black beans yesterday, before I saw the video!
Honestly, this is the only Chef John recipe I've actually tried cooking. Was not disappointed.
If you ever do a prime rib...his is the rockstar!!
I'm not much of a cook but I love your videos for the humor and it makes me want to start cooking! So glad I found your channel today!

I haven't made a single one of your recipes, but I love watching you make them. These videos are also the only ones that make my husband stop what he's doing to watch with me!
LOVE "one pot" recipes! This looks incredible!!
This has been my legit go-to recipe for 2 years now. So fast, cheap and delicious. I actually put a big spoonful of ricotta right into the pot while I am cooking it.

I love you, Chef John!!! 😊😊😊😊
Thank you Chef John, I love one-pot cooking, especially in cold weather like this. I'm gonna make this next weekend.
I am getting cayenne withdrawal symptoms...
:)
I was thinking this needed a healthy shake of black pepper
i thought i was the only one :")
Paulina Tjandra if you use hot Italian sausage it has Cayenne pepper in it.

i come here for the beautiful tasty food, but i stay for your puns and sarcastic remarks. You're a beautiful human.
You're an amazing person with a cooking art-style that steals my attention each and every time I watch your show.
Oh my god, thank you SO MUCH for this recipe. I cooked this tonight and it tasted amazing and now I have leftovers for about a week and almost no dishes to clean. You're amazing!
Chef John, you are the best! Don't let anyone tell you different!
Yum! Love one-pot recipes! Looking forward to more.
These are the dishes that I love!
Chef John, are you in my head? How do you know EXACTLY what I want to make for dinner, before I even know what I want? Love your channel & your sense of humor. Keep up the awesome videos!

I REALLY appreciate you sharing your recipes on youtube, Chef. They've served me well in the last year. Looking forward to more in 2016.
Thank you!
Flavorful dish!! Yum😋
Thanks Chef John. Looking forward to a year with more 1 pot meals from my favoritefood channel
My new years resolution is to not drool over every Chef John's video and add it to my cooking playlist but to actually try it. And i shall do that!
I've made this a couple of times and added some variations. It is the bomb! My family loves it and my son ensures that there's no leftovers. I highly recommend this dish for a cold winter evening.

This is one of my favorite Chef John recipes, I don't even know how many times I've made it.

Made this a few days ago and hubby says it's the first Orzo dish he really liked. That's a winner!
Love one pot recipes!
Just made the one pot Orzo dish. My roommate is still eating it. Love it! Comfort food at its best. I forgot the ricotta, so added some heavy cream in the final cooking stage. Ate the dish with garlic bread. A+
Made this last night, so good! More one pot recipes! Thanks chef Jon!

Just made this. Thanks Chef John. Delicious.
Chef John, please never stop making videos! You give the best instructions. I've made your dutch babies and buffalo dip and they were AWESOME. ^_^
Yum! I love that you added the ricotta.
Back in my bachelor days, I prepared and ate many one-pot meals. I think I may have to give this one a try, looks great!
Great recipe! Easy variation of this: Rice instead of orzo, spice it up with some cayenne and swap the ricotta with sour cream.
i can't believe how delicious this looks
didn't find your channel until 2016, now I'm scrounging through everything, love the vids, thanks
Just made this, it is for sure the best pasta I've ever made.
This looks so good...especially with the ricotta on top. I can see a poached egg on top of this being super good!
I made this for dinner tonight, it's amazing! Thanks chef John!
Now I know what to do with all the ground Italian sausage that has been sitting in my freezer for the past couple months! Thanks Chef John!
One-pot?! Great idea chef John! I love this recipe too, wish you a happy new year with loads of new recipes! Thanks for your work! I'm a huge fan fan from England!
I mixed this recipe with your pasta risotto. Since I had an organic paprika box that was near the end
I ended up making a "stroganoff sausage orzotto" that was oddly satisfying. Thanks for all the inspirations you give
absolutely amazing
"You are the Disco Stu, of your stew's hue" is still my favorite.
I made this dish on Friday evening, and then warmed up the leftover two nights later and served each bowl with an over-easy egg on top (the orzo had dried out a little in the fridge). It was a 'hit' BOTH times.
Thank you, Chef!
You have a really soothing voice. Thank you for the videos.

Aaah another glorious year of chef John dad jokes, can hardly wait...! Great recipe, my mum makes a similar dish but as Greeks we use crumbled feta on top. Thanks for sharing as always :))
