    WOW AMAZING NICE. I was thinking it would be good to have opening at rear/back door where you can retreat the mail and have bottom half just drop in and then you open it in back with a key Awesom! Thanks for sharing Blessings Sir

    Even though you didn’t get the chance to joint your brick wall you can always rake out the joints :) maybe a nicer look if not rake it and that will give you the room to re apply spec mix into joints for smooth finish

      Use a grinder with a fat diamond wheel. Grind out your joints and fill back with what they call a cake bag. Use type s morter. A scoop of Portland will help it through the bag.

    Yea that actually looks great. I watched because I’m about to do the same thing with my mailbox and I’m trying to get ideas. Never done brickwork before though so not sure how it will turn out. Maybe I’ll post a vid if it comes out good.

    Why not use some of the surrounding rocks, tamp them down and use less cement?

      Hyg44 Gu first time doing this type of project. Using the rocks is a good idea. Will keep that in mind in case I do another similar project.

    To add: the foundation should be 1.5 wider than the column above and frost line depth for your region. So (24”x 1.5). This prevents the column from tilting

    Tho I’m not and able to do a brick install it definitely in more ways then none... I’m redoing the poa concrete base for my mailbox it wasn’t level and had wet concrete overflow making it ugly...

      It took me about a week but that was because I was doing it before work. But I would say it was probably 2 days straight giving the cement time to dry and settle.

    I’m a offical brick layer I recommend you to use the jointer when you do 3 layers each 3 layers

    On 18:28 it's not easier on the ground just hold the brick like a man and don't be scared to hit the brick hard and I guarantee u will get bad ass cuts

      @@ranchopreciado6754 ether way it works, masons do it in their hands reason being on scaffolds no ground, and speed wise those kind of bricks 2-3 hits done.
