i love how your style changes slightly, sometimes i miss you wearing locs but sometimes I don't. You can rock either way. I'm just so happy to see how much you have grown and refined yourself and I look forward to many new adventures you will have. Overall I just love your Genuine Elise spirit and when you pronounced Shea the way I do I laughed. It was almost weird hearing you correct your pronunciation. I just love your videos, no one else is like you and that's why I've been watching all these years. :)

I tell my daughters to be themselves. Too many people want to tell them how they should wear their hair- long mainly, but they are the ones that have to look in the mirror and like what they see! It’s really good to see a young woman just be authentic! That’s what you are.
P.S. Your hair is gorgeous. I started going gray when I was only 16 years old. I’m now totally gray and not yet 50. I’ve decided to stop coloring my hair but it’s hard to adjust to being gray. Enjoy your beautiful locks!

My daughter has the same issue as you with her hair, and she also uses the straightener to control it. I love your curls though and I think you look lovely with a big ‘lion mane’. I liked the dreds too, but your current hair definitely looks great with your current style. It’s always good to change things up once in a while. ❤️🎄
Years ago I made a small room into my bohemian boudoir and dressing room. Great fun. I am thinking of papering or painting the inside of the closet in a colorful way.

I just started looking @ your channel and enjoy listening to your life journey.
For the 'closet' situation, I would suggest taking baskets (I use used cartboard boxes) and storing your items sideways, like a folder with paperwork - this way it doesn't look cluttered, and when you reach for a basket you can see everything you have and take out one thing without everything else falling over. In will even save space because fluffy things will squish!

Your hair always looks beautiful. My hair has grown too, I have had the ends neatened but that is all. The christmas tree looks lovely. Look out for a package next week - you will have to sign for it.
I had a wonderful surprise today as I found out that I had won a Red Letter Days Merry Christmas Voucher for two people. Red Letter Days is a British company that offers all kinds of experiences. I shall take my bestie from my former work place - we last saw each other in September 2020 when the department store where we worked closed its doors.

I love your curls and have always wished for curly hair. How often do you get your hair trimmed. It would look nice with a couple of inches trimmed off.
I identify with the hair straightening so much. I think we have the same hair type, I always called my hair a lion’s mane. I straightened my hair every day when I was younger because I always hated it and thought I wasn’t as “pretty as the straight haired girls”. Which is really sad and gave me low self esteem. I have learned to embrace my natural hair as I have gotten older and actually love it now. I don’t think I have touched any heat styling tools for 4 years now!

I think you may have more reindeer than what is marked on.the back of your calendar? The day that the pen ran out of ink? Maybe count the front scratch off reindeer squares and compare to the back.....

Your hair looks gorgeous no matter what you do with it! Straight or wavy or in dreadlocks. I recently commented about the "curly girl method" and if you didn't see it, I suggest you look into it to see if you'd want to give it a try! Hydrating your hair and getting it really healthy (which is what the curly girl method is all about) will make it a lot easier to manage. Instead of trying to "control" the big lion mane, just embrace it and let it be beautifully wild! I know you have some lovely curls. Anyway, just a suggestion, not trying to tell you what to do lol. I love that you stay true to yourself regardless of what anyone else says. :)

Definitely agree about a curl friendly method, also, the method itself it’s not a lot of work, and as long as you use the correct products for your hair, all that is left is the technique of applying products. I use shampoo, conditioner, leave-in cream and a gel. I’m out of the shower with my hair “plopping” in a microfibre towel and I don’t need to do anything else. Super easy. But you need to find what works for you. The right oil can help you but the wrong one makes your ends look like straw or stringy. 🤷♀️ What the method needs to work is time, you have to be consistent for a while to uncover your true texture.

Don’t worry about having mispronounced Shea - lots of native English speakers get it wrong too. I did until I was corrected.

I think you could give your hair a proper trim, just like 10 cm or so... it needs it. When you straightened it one can tell even more that the ends look superthin and as if " a mouse has gnawed on it" (german saying) ;-) My hair is exactly like that and I also always avoid cutting, but once one has a straight line in the ends, they can grow better.

Hi Elise firstly we love your videos and thanks so much for sharing.... but my husband has locs and he wanted to inform you that people with locs try to refrain from calling them dreadlocs because "dread" implies some thing bad and that's the way people viewed locs for a long long time so now we just refer to them as locs .....just wanted to give you that little piece of info.

@@EliseBuch dreadlocks are a protective hair style for Black people. I hope it's okay to open the conversation to that here! I also had dreadlocks as a non Black person but was educated and brushed them out :) as a white person they are called matlocks.
Dreadlocks are not a style I appreciate. They just look unkempt to me...all tangles, snarls and dry looking hair. I do think of them as a style favored by young people that want to be noticed and send a message that they don't want to conform.
That is a sad connotation given to locs because it is actually one of the protective styles for black people's hair. They are beautiful and well-kempt when done properly for the hair types that need it. :)

They are neither unkempt nor unhealthy, sounds like you may have a negative attitude around traditional black protective hairstyles when there is great significance in them that you don't understand.
Dreadlock make you look unkept . And I always think that it’s a lazy way of managing hair for peopl who normally wouldn’t have them. Perceptions are a reality. Trends come and go . You need to move on and grow forward
