  • Sky News contributor Steve Price says Australia’s teacher shortage crisis is only “going to get worse” with schools across the country struggling to fill thousands of positions.
Many students have been “forced to go back” to learning from home, Mr Price said.
Education Ministers across the country met on Monday to “trash out” solutions to the crisis, he said.
The Queensland Education Minister suggested free degrees and tax cuts for new teachers.
Shadow Education Minister Sarah Henderson joined Sky News contributor Steve Price to discuss the teacher shortage.

Who the hell would want to be a teacher when education is the last thing on the schools curriculum.

Teachers are educated so they didn't want to be genetically modified.

What a joke asking an LNP Minister what the solution to the teacher crisis is. The LNP has a track record of absolutely railroading teachers and treating education as an after-thought. But the most telling issue that education has in this country is right here in the comments section. 3 weeks old video; 29 Comments and 33 Likes. Australia wouldn't have this problem if Australians actually gave a rats-ass about Education.

The other detrimental aspect of all this is the abysmal health of our kids both mentally & physically, & with each passing generation it is getting worse. We feed them junk food, junk ideologies, with no discipline & expect elite outcomes.

Homeschooling, *if done correctly* , has always been preferable. But now there is no other choice for the discerning parent.

The clinical teaching model used in schools is horrible. It creates massive out of classroom work for teachers, and it makes the leasons dry and boring for students, because the teachers can't teach in a natural and fluid manner.

Teachers during the baby boom 60s could do a 1 year teacher's training certificate, at least in Queensland. Teacher shortages have been addressed in the past.

Do you have to be jabbed to teach? Do you have to embrace weird gender ideologies?

When my local high school put an ad in the local paper spruiking up their 2024 agenda, I was shocked see “Implementation of social-emotional learning for Year 7-12 students” and “Implementation of our approved Reconciliation and Action Plan”. Nowhere did I see the pursuit of academic excellence as part of the curriculum! No wonder teachers are turning their backs on teaching when they are being forced to teach this rubbish, and the shortage will only get worse unless the education curriculum is changed! 🇦🇺
