NOTE: The strategies I explain in this video are not necessarily the most optimal strategies. The strategies explained are simply the easiest to follow and most commonly used.
If I discover anything that I got wrong or forgot to mention in this video, I will edit this comment and list it below. V
    1:06 Phase 3 occurs at 4750, NOT 4500.
4:20 The Chainsaw Consultant gains access to cut the slack at 14k RPM, not 13k.
5:07 Cut the slack cannot activate if ONE cog is destroyed. If two or more are destroyed it can still trigger.
12:23 Chain link requires 15K RPM but only takes away 2k RPM once triggered.
13:30 You must DESTROY a single cog in order to prevent scabbard from triggering.

A couple more things I'd like to add:
      - Cut the Slack Kickback is proportionate to the level of the slacked cog killed. Anything below 20 and you won't get kickback, and 20-30 will give you 10-20% kickback.
      - If the Chainsaw Consultant reaches 17k RPM in second phase, the override that stops Chain Link from activating during Kickback is unavailable, meaning if you successfully trigger Chain Link, it WILL activate.
      - During second phase, if the Chainsaw Consultant is above 15k RPM, he will start taking more damage (up to 50% extra damage at 20k).
      - As for strategy goes, on the second turn of Chain Link, you are given essentially a free turn to setup or heal. The first turn of Chain Link he will use Spark Plug provided Aggrandize conditions aren't met, which will drop him to 11k (if Chain Link was activated at 15k), so that the second turn he can't use Spark Plug, Aggrandize, or Throttle. On the turn you kill the remaining linked cogs, I recommend zapping far left as long as you can kill the remaining cogs, as gaining RPM effectively makes the Chainsaw Consultant take more damage. Zapping far left means that when he gains Kickback, he will also gain 5k RPM, putting him at 15-16k depending on when this is done.
      - During third phase, his max RPM increases to 30k (although not visually noticeable as anything 21k or higher is just shown by the RPM meter shaking).
      - RPM drain from Layoffs starts at 7000 for one cog fired, and an extra 1000 for each additional cog fired. If less than 4 cogs are fired, the targetting of Layoffs starts from the rightmost toon. (For example, if 3 cogs are fired, the leftmost toon will not be targeted if there are 4 toons in the fight).
Overall GREAT video and I hope this makes the fight more accessible to the general playerbase. Very well done 🙏

8:15 I usually do 4 zaps since it's 100% accuracy, so then I can make sure he uses it, plus it's big damage.
9:30 I usually will throw a 40% as well so I'm not low laff next turn so I can send more damage without risking anything and maybe saving a heal turn lol.

Alright you're gonna hate me for this, but I mean nothing but the best to make sure info stays as accurate as possible
Phase 3 happens at 4750 and not 4500
Cut the Slack requires 14K, not 13K
Chain link requires 15K, but doesn't take away 5K, it only takes away 2K
Scabbard requires you to kill a cog in order to prevent it
But other than that, this a really great video and very helpful to new toons approaching this boss

@@moosecontentpacks Turns out I left some wrong things in here too LOL, so I had to edit it a bit
Phase 2 DOES happen at 8500, but phase 3 happens at 4750

He CAN trigger chain link with kickback and here's how:
    1. Turn one of phase two lure and three throw. NO TU if you do TU he does not rev enough. I recommend using a unite here
    2. After sparkplug this should rev him to to 16k RPM (the lvl above chainlink) here you activate chainlink
    3. Soak and zap two cogs like you suggest but instead of doing the same you instead soak mid and have the other 3 toons zap left which results in 4 toons hitting chainsaw
    4. He revs up to scabbard. During this turn just kill a cog DO NOT attack him. If you don't attack him he does sparkplug
    5. Do 4 hits to activate chainlink and you got chainlink during kickback

    • @Niko_Frost
      @Niko_Frost Před rokem

That's actually him getting off of kickback, his kickback ends after all the cogs have attacked, so it isn't him using chain link during kickback

      @@Niko_Frost Ah I see just a misunderstanding.

    • @AdamSmith-gs2dv
      @AdamSmith-gs2dv Před rokem

@@Niko_Frost Actually he can but the method is different:
      1. Trigger chainlink with throw
      2. Soak kill the left two and TRAP chainsaw
      3. Soak middle zap left
      4. Kill one, lure, two drop
      Tada chainlink with kickback

It's very difficult to hear what you are saying, so I had to turn up my normal volume be a lot, but it's still hard to hear. I understood most of it, though. Great guide!

I'm sorry to hear that! I'll keep that in mind if I make any future videos. For now, if you're confused, I recommend turning on the closed captions as they are 99% accurate.

Oh cool. Now I understand a little more about probably THE most complexing boss ever to defeat.
Which got me wondering... Has someone been able to dive into the coding/programming of the managers? Not that I'm expecting a "yes", but just putting this out there.
