It's unreal to have a Lotus Carlton, and then it's unreal to leave it outside for the elements to attack the old girl! Even a car cover is better than nothing, what a rare machine 2 find!!
Seen this lotus Carlton all over the car groups on FB mate so you're not the first or last. Crazy leaving it on the damp ground like that knowing what it is just doesn't make sense at all.. crazy just crazy. Some great cars there mate
That is an absolute crime and a shame to leave that abandoned for so long. That should be saved and restored to its glory and I wouldn’t care how much it takes to restore it.
No Lotus badge on the front. Only on the front wings… People are strange creatures! Why oh why wouldn’t he cash-in? He’s clearly living in the fantasy that he’ll one-day get around to it. But he won’t. There’s a Lotus Elan near me in exactly the same situation.
Hey Stu , don't worry , as I've said before we all love your content and how you work hard to bring it to us while we just sit/lie here enjoying it . Massive thanks 👊. But WOW Lotus Carleton !!! Honestly cannot believe it's been sat there that long . ❤❤❤

There is currently a totally immaculate 1992 Lotus Carlton with 76,941 miles advertised on Ebay. Coming up for auction soon, the asking price is £85,000.
Such a shame the Lotus Carlton has been left unloved for 30 years. Lol I bet 40RA has been said many times over the years when people have walked past it.
With all due respect.. to the ordinary person walking past this car will have more than likely just past it off as a mere Vauxhall Carlton car with a body kit.. Whereas to a car enthusias, they will pick this car out from a lineup of other cars.. knowing it to be a 1 of 286 that rolled off the Lotus's production line 30 odd years ago.. with a price tag nudging £50k.. Nevertheless, it's a shame that the owner allowed the car to just sit and rust away...
Would love to see inside the workshop - looks like there are real barn finds inside! Well done finding the Lotus Carlton - strange setup. Great video - short but sweet 👍👍
40RA was found in a swamp/canal shortly after it was stolen…then it was written off… the original owner kept the licence plate and now has it back on an another Lotus Carlton.

Even if the chap that owns it hasnt the time, Im sure thiers plenty of people out there, yourself included Stu, that would love to get involved, bring it back out on the road for the chap to enjoy once again before it gets past saving and becomes a mere memory and a pile of rust.
