Chrome OS Flex is a version of Google’s Chrome OS, which is the operating system used on Chromebooks, that a can be installed on most desktops, laptops or even a Macbook. how to revert my bootable usb drive
Open the Chromebook recovery extension in chrome. Click on the gear in the top right. Choose Erase recovery media and select your USB. Click, continue then erase.

It looks like the flash drive was formatted FAT. I have an HP EliteBook 840 G1 laptop, can't install. Is there anything in the BIOS, like legacy or secure boot? Do i have to format the drive? It doesn't even detect the flash drive?.. :/

For more context it starts the boot and the chrome OS flex logo appears, but it’s blank for eternity after that

when I install Chrome OS flex to the new computer using USB..the computer should be non installed OS?
Not possible in Switzerland, no computer is compatible with the extension Chrome Recovery Utility, which generates a message telling this computer (as any other I tried, even Cromebooks) is not compatible with Chrome OS... There is not the parameters menu on top right to choose other options, like installing from a locale source... Is this extension hacked?

Google doesn't provide an iso for ChromeOS flex. The only way to get it is from the recovery tool.

I got all the way to “try it first” before it asked me to connect to network with no network options. Everytime I tried to turn on the wifi, it kept switching off. What do I do?

The creation of the USB drive tog more like 1 hour then the 10 minutes that you mentioned
Creation time can vary depending on the USB drive you are using...
Usb, pc and Internet will affect it. Took less than two minutes for me.

@@Vsp712 No it won't run because the CPU needs to be 64bits to run, even if booting off the USB
@@TheHowToGuy123 got you, so this is my situation my grandma has a old computer i cant get it back into windows without installing windows from a usb. she only uses facebook and internet search here and there. I would like to give her a simple linux install so that she can do what she wants on google and facebook without all the extra clutter

Just reinstall Windows and enable the wifi card again. I think chromeOS Flex doesn’t have driver for your wifi card.

How old is the laptop you're trying to install flex on. Should work on anything 64bit and newer than 2010.
