    EV4U, You've got the best comprehensive videos on general EV conversion knowledge that I've seen so far. Keep it up!

    Great channel! I subscribed and am looking forward to this series, as well as watching your other videos. I'm fairly new to EV and can't afford to actually do one yet. However, I'm on the learning quest so that when the day comes, I can sit down with more realistic expectations and a good idea what to do to realize them.

    Thanks so much. I very much appreciate your real life power to weight formula for calculating pack size. That's obviously something you can only establish after building/driving lots of EVs. Thanks again:)

    great video, very informative, and well explained. I have noticed you have not included the motor-rated capacity in calculating the range, does it not matter?

    It's great to find a real discussion on ev's. So much of what I've found centers on useless information and no math. Next I have to figure out how to get a mazda b series pickup under 2000lbs. I have a cutting wheel and an engine crane...do I need to diet too?

    Nice video! Thank you for sharing! Quick question:
    what happens if I have a series of 43 batteries with 3.3 V and 100 amp and one battery with 3.3V and 180? What if I connect the later one as a parallel? Is that even possible without harming the batteries? What would the Wh be?

      DO NOT mix cell capacities.

    Hi Richard
    I am Richards Samson from India.
    Good explanation! But I have question, is these types of battery power calculation is suitable for all types of motors that are available in evwest and other ev motor manufacturers?
    Another question is: on which parameters the battery pack capacity depends? Weight, type of li-ion cell used, motor, transmission.
    Please answer my questions.
    Once again thank you very much for your for educating us

    • @ev4u
      @ev4u  Před 6 lety +1

    How many volts is a good amount for a medium size/weight EV?

    • @ev4u
      @ev4u  Před 6 lety +1

      Depends on your choice of motor and controller.
      HPEVS has a good setup in the 130 volt to 170 volt range.
      Thanks for watching.

    What is the benefit of using a 145v system over a lower voltage system?

    • @ev4u
      @ev4u  Před 6 lety +1

      On a DC conversion it would equate to a higher top speed. Typically the pack voltage is determined by things like, space available for batteries, payload capacity of the vehicle, etc. The higher the voltage and the greater the individual cell size (Ah) (of a series string) the greater the pack capacity (kWh).

    hello EV4U.. How do you compute the useable watt hours??

    • @ev4u
      @ev4u  Před 7 lety +2

      Usable watt-hours will be equal to 80% of the total watt-hours.
      Total watt-hours is calculated by taking the pack voltage and multiplying by the amp-hour rating of the cells.
      Check out our videos on Calculating Range for more information.
