Michael confesses to Abby that he was raped, as Carly listens on. She realizes how much Abby has truely helped Michael and apologizes to her for how she treated her.
Later, Dante takes Michael's and Abby's statements, Michael tells him how he was raped in pentonville, and Dante feels incredibly guilty.
Even after all this Dante still never turned himself in! So much for the law and doing what was best for Michael. Carly had ever right to be mad and blame Dante.
Carly and Jason had every reason to turn Dante in for a murder cover up but they never did, say what you want about them but they see loyalty to family, even to Dante (the hypocrite) above all.
When people say Chad Duell can't act or Michael is boring, they need to go back and watch these scenes. I blame the current GH writers. After he won his Emmy, they've just wasted his potential.
I didnt like him at first. N when these scenes came out i didnt like him much stilll.but watching these years later , hé was good from the begining i just didnt see it lol i cry so hard at these scenes now. Great acting
love michael they cant act or they love the ones that cant so ignore that michael chad is the best michael michael is kind why hes no over anxious in sex but they forget that hes not like most guys doesnt cheat abuse woman some like that in a man

Dante's arrogance is a contributing factor for MIchael going to prison.
Dante’s fault was he was an idealist. He thought there was no way anything would go down anything other than how he thought. He turns Michael in, tells the truth, michaels gets community service or something because it was defense of a third party, case closed.
The problem with idealists is they are often caught off guard when something they don’t expect happened. Dante could not even fathom Michael would get the book thrown at him. After what happened to Michael comes to light it shakes his faith in the law quite substantially.
Michael did nothing wrong in the first place. He was defending his mother & newborn sister from a delusional psychopath. Never should have been charged with even a misdemeanor for that, much less a murder conviction.
@@nefariousarcher2484- I agree. If I recall, even the prosecutor didn't think Michael should've gone to jail when the truth came out. Sadly though, part of the reason he went to jail was because of the cover up Jason/Sonny and Carly attempted as well.

More like "forced to be strong" because society force man to be strong even in his worst condition. And I don't like that because that's harmful to man's mental health, that's why according to statistics suicide among male is much higher than female.

Guza didn't kill off Abby. Guza was long gone by the time they killed her off. She was killed by Frank & ReRon's OLTL takeover regime so they could force Michael into a pairing with their little pet twit who was entirely incapable of acting.

I'm reading these comments and people are blaming Carly and Jason. Carly and Jason tried to protect Michael because he was still living and trying to recover after being shot. They new that exposing Michael to truth he would carry around a felony and he would face public scrutiny. But Dante didn't care that they were brothers he lied to Morgan who is also his brother to find out were Michael was. He promised Michael that he could decide to turn himself in. Then Dante went behind Michael back and turned his brother in. Now Dante did exactly what Michael did. He is a hypocrite; 1. killed someone and covered it up 2. He was shot by Sonny and lied about it 3. He hid Michael and kept him away from people who could protect him 4. He denied Michael access to an attorney to protect himself. And the whole time pronouncing how he knew better. Barely knowing Michael, Dante decided he knew what was best for Michael. Dante should feel guilty. Why doesn't he tell the truth now and turn himself in for killing someone and covering it up.

In real life, if they had immediately went to the police, Michael wouldn't have been charged or been given a really light sentence. He wouldn't have seen prison at all. It was because Jason and Carly and Sonny decided to cover it up with that lame excuse 'I don't want him to be known as a murderer', that is why Michael suffered. He suffered because of his parents.

As usual, Carly is such a hypocrite. She accepts no responsibility for any of what led to Michael's rape. The judge said it himself, he sent Michael to prison for the coverup, not the crime. If they had called the police that very night he killed Claudia, a lot of pain could've been avoided.

I was not watching when Abby was on, but I have heard a lot of nice things about her. Dante should have never told Carly to pull the trigger. She might have shot him. Michael getting raped was not his fault, he was only doing his job.

If you want to go backwards, the fact that Carly, Jason, and Sonny are responsible for hiding the truth and should have told the authorities when Claudia was killed, it would have made a difference. There is no guarantee that a person will not get raped in prison because they told the truth or a lie. If a person is evil and is going rape, then, they will do it. I don't wish rape on anyone, but, they have got to face the truth so they can go on and have a better life.
Dante made a choice for someone else child that he shouldn't have
+Ila Hilda Sissac I'm not going to pass judgement one way or the other on Dante, I just think that he didn't fully understand what would happen to Michael after everyone perjured themselves for him...especially since he is Sonny's son. I don't think Dante meant to hurt Michael, his character was just a little inflexible and dealing with people who bend the rules on a regular. The choices that were made were incompatible with the situation that he was dealing with, and because of that he naively thought that he was helping Michael, when he actually hurt him, and put him in a situation to be hurt even more.
But on the issue of Abby, she was a really nice character, not quite fully developed, she had a little bit of a backstory, but I think her main purpose was to help Michael through everything that happened in Prison and help him come into his own. Sam introduced them, for that exact purpose, and I think being with Abby helped Michael grow and come into his own. It's unfortunate that she was killed off so soon, and so suddenly but I suppose that was because she had served her purpose as a character.
Carly can be really cruel sometimes. It wasn't Dante's fault that Michael was raped. Dante is suffering enough as it is, she didn't have to do that to him.

Well at the time Dante thought he was doing the right thing to help Michael. The only person who was responsible for Michael being raped is Franco, because Franco sent Carter after Michael to mess with Jason

Jax had a part in it too because Jax knew that Michael was the one that killed Claudia but he pulled strings to get Claire Walsh on the case to prosecute Sonny for it.

This storyline hurts so much, still does, goddamn he's such a good actor, I keep rewatching this because I know the feeling even with the situation being different. The representation means so much and they did so well with it. I just makes me cry triggers me and yet I can't not watch
The quartermaines are just as bad as sonny and carly because all the do is stab eachother and the back for money, and let not forget about the way Monica covers for aj every time he do something. Carly is a mom so the frist thing that came to her mind was to protect her mom her son.
I believe that Abby was good for Michael! She taught him about how to love himself! Rape is hard not only for women but also for man and GH brought this topic and showed that no matter who it is rape can happen to any gender! Sickness runs deep and it has lasting effects on the individual who is the victim! I am proud of Chad for his courage to show his vulnerability but Abby gets credit for showing him love and compassion
Carly chose Sonny to be Michael's fault she raised him to lie and then Carly, Jason and Sonny covering up a murder put Michael in prison and it is no one but Carter's fault that Michael was raped but he wouldn't have been in prison if Carly, Jason and Sonny actually cared to protect Michael all they cared about was the cover up and Michael paid the price because Carly and Sonny lied in court
But Franco is the one who sent Carter after Michael to torture Jason. Also, Franco was standing outside of the cabin the night that Claudia died and he was using the picture of Michael kneeling besides Claudia's body with blood on his hands as a way to Blackmail Jason and Michael.
Besides Carly can't get mad at Dante considering Franco put Carter in Michael's path to start with and Carly almost married him and I don't think that because he had a brain tumor should excuse what crimes Franco committed so truthfully Franco is to blame for what happen to Michael
Wrong. Carter alone is directly responsible for the rape.
And the show made it very clear that Franco was not a killer after the tumor was removed. I'll never understand why some people were so hell-bent on demonizing the guy.

They wanted to explore a darker/more mature storyline with Michael after he awoken from his coma. That's why they decided to go with an older teen (Drew Garrett at the time), rather than keeping the little kid (Dillon Cash).
Am I the only one to find Drew irritating. I just didn't like him.
Mela B I liked Drew. He was an excellent young actor. Though, I have come to think of Chad Duell as a little more refined.
