- I managed to get hold of a set of the new Orangatang Caguamas in 77a before they went out of stock. Unfortunately I never had any pulleys so I 3D printed some and this is my Installation and first impressions of these brand new wheels!
If you had told me in high school that one day I would be laying in bed with something called an iPad, and on it, I’d be watching a video of another grown man wearing pads and 3D printing components for a new longboard wheel, I would have applauded you for your creativity and be confident you were insane, but then you lean closer to high school me and in a seductive whisper you say, “...and you’re going to enjoy it.” Literally unfathomable, yet here we are.
Hahaha that is fantastic 🤣 well, here we are indeed mate! Glad you enjoyed it!
For those without 3D printer. Exway has the pulleys for sale.
Mate that 3D printer is beast bro! I love it when people see the difference in wheels.
People just think it’s just wheels or colour ect.
Makes a hell of a difference man.
I love my Abec 107s but like you said it’s good to see them Targeting the eskate market dude.
Mark HybridZ yeah man Loaded know what they are doing alright. The abec 107's are still the best wheel in the market mate, sure you love them. Please do a video soon mate, missed you being around
Love your videos Lee! Comletely agree with you. If Loaded we're to do a 90mm or 97mm I feel they'd sell real well. For many esk8 builds that run out runner motors, the those size wheels would be a sweet spot! Keep up the great work. Appreciate your media contribution to the esk8 community!
- Neil
Big Kids hey man, thanks for the love! Loaded know what they are doing for sure... and have seen the potential in eskate! Thanks for watching dude! Love your stuff too!
This video is perfect. I've seen a ton of people add larger diameter wheels to low-torque boards as "upgrades" but you obviously trade top speed for less acceleration . BUT WHAT IF YOU HAVE TORQUE TO SPARE? A little VESC/FOC modification should balance out any expectation I would think. A question I have always wanted to know the answer to, and Lee's the man to do it if Loaded pushes above 85mm. I'll pass the hat around the saloon for you when it happens Lee. ;)
Shane Parrott if loaded make them I will try them! I have a video with 110mm wheels on this board and it was really nice to ride tbh, they really stretched that throttle out without sacrificing too much torque, like you say I have loads to spare! Haha. Thanks for the support as always man!

Love the concept!
Thanks Al!
Brilliant video. Loved the 3D printing looks one amazing machine and the wheels look perfect on your Icarus. I'll be interested to see if you go back to your 97s once you get the vesc dialed in.
Simon Churchley yeah man its a great machine. I wanted to do a longer segment on the printing but as usual time was short. Next thing is swapping the motor mounts over and 3d printing some bits for the board so will see ow we get on. We are running out of nice weather rapidly mind
looks great
Thanks bud!
Awesome mate
Thanks bro!
Love the Caguamas (I still prefer orange/80a), but I also haven't had any issues with my Stealth and Mini X stock wheels after hundreds of miles
Yeah I love the caguamas too, they are my favorite wheel I have tried so far. I have about 250 miles on my caguamas and 3d printed pulleys and both are still in excellent condition!
Dude that music is sick :)
Hellz ya.. my favorite wheels
Where did you get those enclosures? Those look really nice. What range do you get from the battery inside?
Hey man, the enclosures are from www.eboardsperu.com excellent quality! I have never done a range test but I think it should be 27 miles range from this board!
Dope asf
Thanks bro!
Could you explain how you change the throttle using the vesc programming app?
Word man. Got 90 popocas on my v2 hella great. They need to do 90 mm. Anything bigger on the boosted seems to really kill the braking .
Yeah you can go too big on the boosted for sure. I think they will do 97mm tbh, it's a popular wheel size
I have the 90 Popocas and miss the torque. I’ve been eyeing the Caguams the past week for my overhead I’m doing; AcerBearings, JasonIndustrial belts, and Boosted metal pulleys....I’m just undecided on wheels but these blue 85mm Caguamas seems to be a nice middle ground to gain some torque and keep some top speed.
I am kicking myself, I am away from home for a couple months and I left my 3d printer at my long term residence, Now I ended up having to buy a set of pulleys when i could have just printed them. no bueno
Is printing new pulleys better than buying new ones unless u can find ones that fit ur stuff that are metal
Injection molded is probably better, but if you have a printer that can print nylon why not make them!?
Where didja get the cool chrome truck bolt X plates?
Hey dude, I got them from a guy on the esk8 builders forum - if you are not on there you should check it out. Loads of cool stuff
for those without a 3D printer, Evolve have the pully's, the only thing is you have to buy the whole lot to get them. Wheel's, Bearings & pully's which is $150AUD+ postage
Exway has the pulleys, just the pulleys for sale.
Do the caguamas and kegels have the same inner ring thing? I was wondering whether the thingivers Kegel-Pulley-,ounts fit the caguama as well.
DanFPV they do indeed and I printed and am using those pulleys from thingiverse!
@@LeeWright great to hear! Now I'm really looking forward to getting a pair of those and retiring my old 76mm Zombie Hawgs
DanFPV the 77a Caguamas are really good mate - you won't regret getting a set!
What's the liquid you put your print into after it finished?
Hey man it's just water which dissolves the support material
can't help but notice the icarus! flex 1 or 2? and how do you like it?
This is an old board now bud but yeah it's an icarus in the stiffest flex (1?) I don't ride this one anymore 😓
@@LeeWright yeah, I saw the date aired after I commented.
Huge props for replying though, thank you!
@@AlienEnjoyer ha no worries bro! I try and reply to every comment
What is it feel compare to vanguard? 😁
So I just swapped out my stock wheels on my boosted mini x board but now something is wrong with my back wheels by the motor. I don’t know if belts are working correctly. Any ideas?
What problems/symptoms do you have mate?
Lee Wright it’s skidding when I go to brake or slow down. Are the belts supposed to wrap around very tight or looser with some slack?
@@ihate_chris so you are supposed to leave a little bit of slack, you should be able to pinch the belt and deflect it about 5mm. Skidding means the brakes are locking up though, what wheels did you put on it? The caguamas?
Lee Wright the 80mm 77a kegels
@@ihate_chris could you email me some pictures across? My email address is in the video descriptions. I will see if I can see what's wrong bro
does the wheels come with its own berings?
Hi mate, unfortunately they dont, you will need to buy bearings for them. Any skate bearing will do though, I use cheap ones from amazon
How are those platic gears and their threads holding up?
Still rocking them mate, must be 400 miles now? Still look great! I printed them out of Nylon though which is super durable
@@LeeWright cool, printed mine out of PETG, interesting to see how they will hold up
@@mysbyxor PETG is also a very good material to print for these parts. I bet if your belts are set up correctly you could see 1000 miles on them
Ever considered putting it all on a loaded vanguard deck?
Floating Ace Good question. I was actually originally going to build a Vanguard deck but owned the Icarus as a push board so decided to build on that. The Icarus for sure has a different feeling to the Vanguard (I have ridden boosted boards a few times) but it's such a nice eBoard I haven't really got a need to do that
Which bushings are you using on the TB218 trucks?
Hi Marcel, I am using blood orange insert bushings, they really take the slop out of the TB218mm trucks
@@LeeWright Thanks for the fast answer! I looked for them, which durometer do you have? Have you compared them to the normal barrels?
@@marcelreuter3259 hey no problems! I try and answer every question - I hope my channel helps people! I have the 86a burgundy ones, you will need to pick according to your weight. Yes I had barrels on at first and the difference is night and day, you need these insert bushings. Do you already have the 218mm trucks?
@@LeeWright Ah ok, I just wonder because ein the video you have green ones... haven't found them at blood orange. I have TB218 already for my new build. Today I tried to go from barrel/cone to barrel/barrel on my boosted board copy. This was already amazing. Do you use one insert and a normal barrel one then?
@@marcelreuter3259 yeah I have insert board side and barrel road side, I have experimented lots and this is what I come up with as the best solution. I think you need the insert board side on those trucks
What songs did you use, I love em!2
NitroNTV wow I cant remember mate! This video was filmed a little while ago
Can you share your protection gear?
In the description of my latest videos bud
That’s sexy!
Haha thanks!
Why did you drop the 3d printed pulleys into water?
I probably didn't explain in the video enough but did you see that white stuff round the outside of it? That's water soluble PVA support material. Once it prints you have to leave it in a water bath over night. Hope that explains it better
What's the music you used in this video
Whats the soundtrack 4:29 sounds dope a fuck
Old video broooooo, no idea 😅
I’m still not understanding electric skateboards . If you need to get to work or need transportation around the city it’s great however ....... I’m a skater and this is absolutely no form or exercise at all . If your gonna go out and cruise like this guy just for fun. Get a long board and push. You can go way faster and stay in good shape
😅 ok bud.
It’s pronounced koo wama
It means turtle
@@303supercool cant believe it's taken this long for someone to pull me up on this! Yes you are right man!
Haha thanks, that sounds better
They are 78a. .... um yeah
Sorry dude? They are 77a! At least that's what's written on them!
This video makes me dizzy. I don't know why.
Kinda useless video because you modded your board :)
