    Hi, Kelly! Great video and lots of good products! You hooked me on that Amorepacific vintage essence, I wish I treat myself someday😁 I used to love vit C, but now that I'm a retinoid user - it can irritate my skin sometimes. Looking for gentler alternatives, I found NIOD Survival 0. I think you'll love it. For such a potent mix of antioxidants it is so gentle.

    I have sensitive skin and really love the Geek and Gorgeous C-glow, it’s really a fantastic fragrance-free product with 15% ascorbic acid, vitamin E and Ferulic acid and never caused me any irritation. It’s really fresh and takes at least 3-4 months to oxidise if you keep it in the fridge. And let’s not forget how incredible affordable it is, highly recommend it!

      I wanted to try this one as well, but I can't seem to use any kind of straight ascorbic acid. With super sensitive skin and rosacea, the best vitamin c I've been able to use is magnesium ascorbyl phosphate. It's definitely not as strong as ascorbic acid, but it's less activating on the skin which is a good thing with rosacea!

    Thank you for this video, Kelly! I love antioxidants. Right now I am alternating between two from Garden of Wisdom: their MariTyme Gel that features pycnogenol, green tea extract and beta glucans and their Advanced Telomere Repair and AntiAging Serum featuring resveratrol, grape seed extract, pomegranate seed oil and glutathione. I find them very soothing and comforting on the skin -- they make my skin feel complete or more complete, if that makes any sense. The Telomere Repair serum has a natural scent that reminds me of celery a little bit; the Marityme Gel does not have a scent. Tried PC Vitamin C Booster but felt it didn't really do much for me then it oxidized before I got a chance to completely empty the bottle. Am wanting to try Vitamin X by Regimen Labs -- it looks terrific. Have a great week!

  • @lorainemcgillivray77
    @lorainemcgillivray77 Před 2 lety +1

    Hi Kelly my skin just doesn't tolerate ascorbic acid - the low ph watery formulations burn/sting and the water free formulations turn my skin orange - not a good look on ultra pale skin lol. Instead I use retinoids and other antioxidants for the benefits mentioned - retinoid and niacinamide for collagen boosting and other ingredients for protection from pollution etc. As an all round excellent morning antioxidant serum the Niod survival 0 is a favourite and one of the more affordable Niod products. For a budget buy the IL Q10 serum is really good, or the resveratrol and ferrulic acid from TO. Many of my favourite multi benefit serums include antioxidants eg the purito unscented centella serum, the cosrx cica serum or the Klairs fundamental watery oil drop. I also get some antioxidants from my toners or essences, as ferments can have a decent antioxidant profile also. Despite the heavy focus on youtube around vitamin c serums as the "best" antioxidant, it is possible to get a wide variety of antioxidant benefits from other ingredients. Best wishes.

    Have you ever tried magnesium ascorbyl phosphate / MAP derivative of vitamin c? It's stabilized and much more gentle on sensitive skin.
    My favorite is actually the vitamin c serum from 100% Pure. I used to use a lot of their products but stopped all their products after I moved away from essential oils. However, I've never found any other vitamin c that I could use without irritation (and I tried a ton!!), and decided to go back to their vitamin c serum and it's great! It's also very hydrating in a stable water based formula, in addition to being irritation free on my very sensitive rosacea skin that can't handle any amount of ascorbic acid.
    Yes, MAP is slower to work than ascorbic acid, but for those with very sensitive skin or with rosacea like me, you may love this one! It really does work with all the vitamin c benefits just a little slower and with no warming/burning/activation on the skin.

    • @KellyDriscoll
