- A film featuring the Lion Armour, which is in the collection of the Royal Armouries and is normally on display in the Tournament Gallery of the Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds. The creator of this extraordinary embossed armour is unknown, but the craftmanship and date of production suggests it could be the work of the Negroli family.

This is like something the Lannisters would wear. Could be an excellent inspiration at least.
I think in the books Tywin has an armor like this
Could you imagine how much your ego would grow just wearing this thing?
imagine the life you must lead to be able to do this back then.
Almost 3 sizes that day
I might have fit in it when I was 15 or 16. I would have to diminish a bit. It's pretty though.
It’s amazing how they created reliable and practical armour that was also extremely fashionable lmao
Well the fashionable part comes from the fact that most people who wore armor as decorative as this one were of great importance. What better way to show you have status then walking around in a full set of armor that has engravings all over it.
Everyone talking about got and I'm over here like this is way cooler then got
Read the chapter in the Game of thrones where GRRMartin is describing Tywin's armor at Harenhall. I'm almost sure he was inspired by it.
A truly beautiful masterpiece, although I’ll just be in this corner with my plainer looking Gothic armour.
Since there are paintings of different people wearing it I would guess that the armour was given to people so that they can represent their monarchs on the battlefield or it was probably given to and worn by the kingdom's martial which is strange because I know that suits of armour were made to custom fit a person, could it have been altered to fit many people?
Strange Person In all or most of the paintings, it seems they are just wearing pieces of the armor and not the entire suit.
We need an HD reuplaod of the video, so we can see the finer details.
This is one of the best documentaries I've ever seen.
Can i attract Lioness with this armor?
Ridalia probably
OwO what's this?
Whoever wore that might've had a very portly friend with a penchant for swinging oversized gold-plated mallets.
You just made my day.
Exquisite. The ultimate power suit.
Tywin Lannister - mystery solved
Just those are a bit irregular to be as efficient as proper ridges, but surely non-the-less helped improve its sturdyness.
Note, i'm just a happy noob guessing, but maximilian and gothic styled suits were made how they are for a reason. (And its stylish as well.)
This is really art, and fit for kings, as seen in the paintings, when they clearly got into the nicest armour in their armoury and posed for the artist.
La belleza de esta armadura es impresionante... Una verdadera obra maestra!!
That is very pretty. Very very pretty
Damn Lannisters, the north remembers.
A lannister always pays there debts
ah ys the scots never forget.
Hello. I love this video, I know I guy who does armor and lions!
La apariencia de esta armadura es absoluta y totalmente sublime.
its an incredible design, sometimes i wonder how many pieces like this have been lost or are being horded by aristocracy and black market royalty, every bit as nice as a rolls Royce or a fighter jet and even more rare.
This is an interesting mystery. It does look Italian to me.
LIONS! LIONS EVERYWHERE!
Thats cool
I wish I had that armor omg
Looking at all that ornate detail I kind of wonder if they didn't actually help strengthen the armor. I heard that armor with ridges forged in it made it stronger.
Well milanese (italian) armour of the mid 15th century armour was mostly plain, with no ridges or decorative features (for the most part) and yet it was very strong and widely used. It was used by the Italians, and made for export for the English, for Germany aswell ! Even regions that were mostly centred around styles of armour that possessed ridges sometimes chose plainer armour with smoother surfaces. Some of the greatest and most recognisable armours are plain and used for cavalry and war. While it is true, that ridges strengthen the structure of the armour, this does not by any means mean that armour without such ridges would be unusable. Provided that the armour had correct shapes and enough curvature, and was hardened correctly then it's perfectly fine, with or without ridges. Many of the later armours, while extremely fancy.. keep a smooth surfaced appearance. This is because it worked !
Indeed Sire...
FOR THE ALLAINCE !
Well you tried
However would it not be more correct to say that were a Lannister to have a special suit made it would have a gold inlay if nothing else of gold? and a red suit of lion armour would more suit the Reynes.
Such majesty, but slightly scary.
You know what this reminds me of? Master P's golden tank.
ive been to Royal armouries
it was made for me. when i claim it i shall lead a pack of lions in glorious combat and establish a new kingdom wherein all lions are gods
This was Joffrey Baratheon's armour.
It's the bullet-proof tuxedo of its time
Yes, it does look a bit maneish does the head. Also, it did seem to be worn by monarchs.

A magnificent suit of armour. It looks heavy. That and the frog's mouth visor make one think it may have been tournament armour.
The website literally says that it weighs 20.8kg. Also, that isn't a frogsmouth helmet
It's normal armet
The Lannisters send their regards.
How were they able to see in these things
You would have the visor raised in most circumstances. A lowered visor was mainly for cavalry charges, or if you were so tightly packed in a fight you didn't really need to see side to side.
very Lannister friendly
Lannister armor is red
The Lannisters are sending their credit info....
You can paint it sir.
I think it’s owner must have been called Cecil, unfortunately now he’s extinct.
I dream with this one time I was like what the f***
All I heard was. Lion, lion, lion, mysterious, liony lion, lion.
A "Lion" gold cloth? It probably can't be worn without mastering the "seventh sense".
Lannisters
Permission to enter Majesty's Armoury.
Lannisters....
It was made for someone who didn't wish it to be known how much he payed for it.

Lannisters.
What an acute observation! You, my friend, must be a Jew.
I don't like it at all. For me, give me a sleek polished 'silver' suit with no decoration, no unnecessary flourishes...just function and mobility.
That thing looks like it's all show, no go, no matter what it's thickness is.
From the armor I've seen, no one was higher than 5'7". Makes the idea of modern women not being able to serve in the military pretty stupid.
Shut up
If you think height is the significant limiting factor for why women suck in combat you belong nowhere near the military yourself
It’s ugly, it’s to pompous
meh, this is just more human armour. i want to see the armour worn by the mightly battlecats that the knights rode to war againt the evil forces of skeletor on!
Lannister armor is red
