    I don't care that people complain about annoying shutter or video too long. Just discovered the cable car today and I'm fascinated, it's pretty unique. Look at that, the track is supported by another cables at intersection. And the extreme spans. And the speed. and the distance between lines at the middle station. this is so cool

      I was just there in December skiing the Vallee Blanche glacier which you are going over in this cable car. The cables were damaged last spring I believe, by snow build-up on the cables, so it is not operational right now. We skiied right under that cable intersection and it is quite impressive!

    Very interesting. You can also see the ropeway for the service technicians to reach the middle section: At 18:10 and 25:10, you can see three cables, with the lowest visible for the separate ropeway. The cabin itself leaving the station is well visible at 27:05.

    Why do people use SLRs in the _digital_ photography era instead of mirrorless cameras is a mystery. (Although camera manufacturers are partially to blame for this, they push an inferior product (SLR) because it has more mechanical parts in it, hence a higher markup. It's the same in related fields like binoculars: the inferior roof-prism designs are pushed because they are more complicated in construction than the superior Porro designs, etc. etc. etc.)

    • @SeattleRex
      @SeattleRex Před 7 lety +7

      JanPBtest The answer si obvious. Because other people are not as cool, intelligent, and as wise as you are. Your consumer choices are just superior to everyone else's. It's astonishing that so many professionals still use SLRs instead of the clearly superior mirrorless cameras. If everyone were like you, though, then you would not be special, so I would think you would appreciate it.

      It's a nice video but I would have taken out the dreadful sound of the camera as it was very distracting and totally unnecessary as the film is about a cable car not a camera.
