I've bought Ray Conniff record albums during 60-70's. I never knew videos of these existed during the same years. Thanks to Manfred for posting them, and thanks to you tube for allowing us all to enjoy it !
Among the top singing groups of all times...this man, Ray Conniff, had well tuned ears for getting many of the right voices in his groups over the years. Many, stayed with him, I can tell, by the quality tone sound for many years. I own several of the Conniff Singers albums. To me, his unique sound of memorable tone came from the late 1960's up to the late 70's. He seemed to enjoy his productions over the many years. Starting officially as group singing in 1959....highlighted many times as extremely popular songs heard on the radio stations that played the "middle of the road" style "elevator music" and a few commercials, I think...the Ray Conniff Singers were truly an American sound loved by many world wide. So sorry to read & hear way back in 2002 of his accidental death. May his style in fond memories live on.
