Cavaliers kept it simple with warm ups and won the caption!
Was wondering who had won. Thnx
Your videos are a huge asset to the drumming community.
Much appreciated.
Thanks
Thank you for this! It will be my new daily warmup video. 🤙🏼
This is proof that the competition is not won by winning over the lot crowd.
will be a good way to get going each day!
Looking at you Boston 😂
@@napostrophenBluecoats did the exact same thing last year and won. It goes both ways. Doubt you’d get a contract with any of these groups regardless.
@@tim.noonan Find something better to do than being an ass on the internet
Mike McIntosh, Bret Kuhn, Tom Aungst on your staff….basically the equivalent of the “Avengers” or Justice League of a percussion staff😅…..they were not going to lose. Stop trying to discredit BAC….people are talking like they’ve taught better lines…yes it is competitive but it’s also art. Chill out and appreciate it for what it is
Great video and a refreshing take on warm ups. Not saying one way is better or not, but the Cavs have shown this year that simple fundamentals win the day. I`m old school and this warm up routine is like a blast from the past.
Been watching tbe rennick warmups? Also cadets is old school warmups.
YES! Simple fundamentals wins. Touching base on foundation excels a persons skill level and understanding of playing no matter how advanced they may be
The speedo doubles is called speed bumps and it’s all 16th notes and 8th notes, not triplet syncopation for the first 2 patterns. I take lessons from their snare tech and he sent me the sheets.

8:39. Funny you say that about the long warmups. In 2021, we were warming up next to the Bluecoats. We finished our subs lot and just sat around while bloo was still playing. Then we finished our show music and they were still playing. We finished so quickly that we didn’t know what to do with our time.
Great format, will probably steal this concept
Fundamentals 💯
F’n A, Cotton. F’n A.
The F is for Fundamentals. 💪🏼
It is hard to beat content like this. Great job Geoff and Thank you Alexander for the video footage!
Thanks
Keeping it simple is great. 👍🏾👍🏾
Yessir! 💚💚🥁🥁💚💚🥁🥁
Love it !
I gotta try this one.
Pls do more of this!
Genial 🎉 mas de esto ! Gracias por la música
I WISH I had this resource when I was marching! Very Cool!
Nice warmup. Simple and effective.
And yes, much easier when the music is straight forward!
Can you do RCC Morrispree? Thx
Nice and simple. I was in the drumline At the University of Connecticut from 87-91. We started the same way 16 on a hand, the up&down accents, and the first variation of 3’s.
Nice!
I’m always bound to find you on a drumline video!
I loved this.please do more like these as well. Thank you so much for every drum lesson. I'm fighting covid sars2. Never had covid before but playing drums makes me better I believe 🥰🥁🎵
Great! Thanx for a good warm-up lesson.
Thanks for watching
This is excellent... thank you
You're welcome!
Dude, this is awesome!
Thanks Drew
Went back to this one today, thanks
cool, had a couple say they use this and crossmen one daily so might make more like this in the future
Bro i love this video style, can you do another play along of Boston Crusaders spanks?
For someone who is relatively new at drumming, working on technique and hand speed, how much practice and for how long before being able to play the whole warmup? Being able to play along with this is my current drumming goal as I continue to make progress.
Could you do Boston Crusaders spanks warm up? Thanks!
First!
Cool vid! What is that practice pad you have on top of your snare drum!?
Offworld invader v 3 with laminate
Can you do bd snare break 2023?
Could you make a video on the tenor warmups?
@thetenordrummer ? 👆
Hey mate. No matter how hard I try, I can never comfortably nor reliably get my stick height to near vertical on my left hand playing trad. Any tips?
czcams.com/video/844gXw74fOs/video.htmlsi=QttsJYLj2boXS3VE have a watch of this... if no better then send me a clip of you playing 8 on a hand.
Great video. Only thing is there are no triplets in their Speed Bumps variations. It should all be 16th and 8th like the second half
Do you have the orig notation? when you slow it down (try it at 50% on youtube) you can hear its either really bad 16th/32nd interp or a triplet variant?
@FreestyleRudiments I auditioned there in January and all the sheets were 16th note doubles. The interp of space will naturally widen ans the doubles get tighter when trying to achieve clarity in the snareline, but if you listen to the full batterie, the bassline is also ripping various 16th based partials
@freestylerudiments i can confirm it’s all 16th notes and 8th notes!
Thanks @@simonslagle Congratulations on the season. I will do a video teaching this and get the correct notation on that one.
@@simonslagle is this one correct? www.geoff-fry.com/marching-drum-scores
What year and instrument and core did u march
BD 1995 - Cadets 1997 - Tenors. The taught a few seasons at Bluecoats. I only ever marched snare in the UK 👍
@@FreestyleRudiments that’s cool
Anyone have tenor and bass parts for these?
What pad are you using?
Offworld v3
@@FreestyleRudiments thanks. Looks like a great pad to play on :)
@@MuseSoundsScoreandSoundsIt’s the best pad I have ever owned, and, if you play along with a lot of FR videos it helps with gauging cleanliness (same pad sound).
Once again proving the old saying ! Keep it simple no substitute for the basics !
do these guys hands get messed up from wristing so much?
No. Not if they learn to use the rebound and not fight it. They used to because of historical techniques but its really not too bad now. The heads are very very tight so they do have to consider fatigue but I would def say they are not all messed up.
The speedo diddles are notated wrong, it’s not quarter note triplets, but it starts off on a 1-&a and then a sixteenth rest between each diddle
Bro is your left stick dead? I swear I can hear a clicking that I associate with a stick splitting from the inside. If you can confirm I would be very interested to know if I called it lol
I will check. Its possibly the pad. Every now and then the laminate gets an air bubble and needs peeling of and on the fix
@@FreestyleRudiments oh yeah, it's probably an air bubble, which means your zones are probably awesome
Why does your middle finger slide down when you rely on rebound? I’m 99.98% that should not be happening.
