  • @johnlamere2189
    @johnlamere2189 Před 2 lety +1

    The guitar player "The Edge" is using a delay pedal and the timing of the delay is timed to the beat of the song.
    The Edge's guitar sound is frequently modulated with a delay set to a dotted eighth note for rhythmic effect. After acquiring his first delay pedal, the "Electro-Harmonix - Memory Man", he became fascinated with how to use its return echo to "fill in notes that [he's] not playing, like two guitar players rather than one". The effect unit became a mainstay in his guitar rig and had a significant impact on the band's creative output.

    Sunday Bloody Sunday is a song U2 wrote about a true event in Belfast you would enjoy it, but listen to the live version where he names all the people that died that day the history was a protest march by Catholics in Belfast went on a peaceful protest march and took a wrong turn and the British Security forces opened up on them, a great song worth a listen or listen to " In the name of love" it is about the Martin Luther King assassination and the killing of Robert Kennedy

    I literally grew up on this stuff. I was 8 in 1980. 18 in 1990. All those bangers that hit home as a kid are in many cases looked upon as classic songs today. Back then it was song of the week, at times a song that would stay relevant for a month. I love having grown up as a child and teen in the 80s and a 20 something in the 90s trying to get girls and sometimes succeeding. Therefore fun with these reactions. Brings me back to those good old days that often were far from good personally, yet for the most part pretty good. First girlfriends and all the great music I still appreciate to this day. Keep going guys! You are doing a great job. I could give you a list of 250 songs (at least) you would like that your fanbase would appreciate as well.

    The one thing about 80s U2, is that nothing in the stadiums sounded like them. Hair bands and virtuosic guitar solos that went on forever were the norm back then. The simplicity and sonic spaciousness that U2 brought was a breath of fresh air to the rock scene.

    These same 4 guys who started practicing in the drummer's Mom's kitchen in Dublin so long ago, are still together. The same 4 guys: Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton, and Larry Mullens, Jr. They've given us so much great music. Also, check the live (Live and Slaine Castle) shows. Live is the way to go with U2. As good as they are in studio they are 10x better live. For example, on a performance of this song, Bono brings a girl out of the crowd, they lie together as he sings the song to her. Their stages are epic and the crowds are huge. I suggest either The Saints Are Coming w/ Green Day live at the reopening of the Superdome after Hurricane Katrina or their halftime performance at the Super Bowl after 9/11. Both riveting and emotional performances and make a nice entry point for their live music
