Have you considered a collaboration video with twoodfrd? He could fix your Centipede and both of you could develop some great content. If you are keeping the Centipede for your collection it wouldn't matter about the headstock break, the rest of the guitar is in such great shape that it would still be a keeper. BTW, Love these episodes, Thank You
Anyone else think the unboxing episodes are the most fun? The reviews and everything are great and all, but the unboxings are like Christmas morning simulator
The WYRONs are my fave. Same as the reason I go to garage sales, flea markets and boutique shops. The opportunity to see things I couldn't just see at guitar center or in a catalog.
The Troglys Guitar Show has inspired me to put down my drum sticks and pick up the guitar more often. I can also now boast that I know more about guitars than most of the guitarists in the 3 bands I'm currently playing drums in.
That Gretsch is missing the gold cap from one of the knobs. It's probably rattling around loose inside the box. Guitaristas channel had the same problem with one.
Since your last video about the SG baritone I actually bought one. It's one of the coolest and most unique sounding guitars I've ever played. Highly recommend to anyone
one guitar i'd love to see you dive into in the future is the new Fender Violinmaster Telecaster over here in the UK it's RIDICULOUSLY EXPENSIVE! £26,000 to be exact, i'd love to see you rip one open to see what makes it tick
If you have a dryer with a steam cycle, put it on the steam cycle for 20 minutes. No need to wet them first. They come out perfectly fluffed up and dry.
Oh! hey Trogly I am just noticing the new table. VERY NICE! Like the sage green marble color - also like the purple sound dampening in the background too if you are thinking of changing the whole color palette up. Like that new table a lot. Looks like a nice buildout going on back there too with the shelves ....
I wish I had the money for a 335 I played one in a store once and then realized I was playing it for nearly an hour. Literally went to a whole other dimension with that thing.
I had a kind of a magical experience once or twice in a guitar shop, both times with Gibson acoustics. I’m not even certain what model the larger one was… Maybe a J-45 or a J-200. I could just feel the songs literally tumbling out of it. The other guitar was a triple low or whatever Robert Johnson model. I just had a magical feeling to it. I didn’t play for a very long time of either of them and I didn’t allow myself to get too attached because they were both so far out of my price range. I wish you could’ve found a way to connect with that 335 and take it home and have it be part of your life. I hope you find another.

Lets hope the candy doesn't melt. BTW, how about a contest-Guess the Truly Historic purchase with the Korina XPL revenue. Win a t-shirt, or Donner stuff- i'd play. Ü
I think Tenor guitar would be the way for me personally to sound best on guitar. It's like playing jazz drop 2 chords without having to worry about extra noises coming from the lower strings your not playing anyway without doing awkward palm muting. Cowboy chords usually sound way too boomy when I play amplified while regular barre chords just start to kill my hand after a while. I do well with bass playing single notes, can play melodies and linear solos on a standard tuned guitar well but for chording I usually set up in an open tuning. I think the shorter scale and just four strings would put me right in the right spot to push me over the technical edge helping to mask the fact that I've broken my left thumb twice and the second time the bone at the base of my thumb broke into five pieces reqiring surgery and three pins to get me so I have full range of motion for everyday hand use but for sincere guitar technique with a six string stretch using multiple fingers consistantly over prolonged durations hasn't worked for me. Luckily I've either played the trumpet, piano or bass with bands but it would be nice have a guitar I could become less limited with than I do with the traditional six string. Gibson should rerelease one of their old tenor jazz guitars or make a new one...It would be awesome to see.
I owned a Gibson baby blue tenor guitar in 1981- it was a gift- l was living in the Bay Area and l was told it belonged to a performer that did nightclubs and restaurants and he was an old Italian guy who did Dean Martin, old blue eyes, pop tunes of old, and Italian old time songs
If you're buying so many guitars that you forget to unbox a few, it's time to sell some of those!!! I'd say, start with selling me The Mummy guitar. LOL.
I love donner. I would like to see a review of their digital interface cuz I would like to record to my computer but don’t have any idea how. Also, 2 1/2 weeks! I just bought a chair (big box) from mainland China and it came to PA in 3 days.
I also live close enough to Sweetwater that most of my orders have been next day, last order from them FedEx sent it down to Tennessee then back up to Indiana
Some nice tasty guitars that's for sure! I sure wish you would have done a review on that 1961 SG Custom reissue Austin! :-0 that sure is one beautiful looking guitar and pretty neat that they have the sideways pull vibrola unit just like the original. Also would have liked to have seen that Gretsch documented in the end and put through its paces and tried out. Still a great episode though 👍
I just got that same Gretsch but the smaller body metallic mint green. It's gorgeous and so well made. Fret board is so smooth and dark for laurel as well. Really would have loved a demo on those pickups they're so sweet, but maybe one day! Good luck to the berries and cream owner! I would have sprung for it but was too late 😭
Love that the packing up segment is back! And yeah that Explorer is a piece of art, not necessarily a playing guitar so they're just destined to end up at someones collection. I would say labor shortage is a myth though, it's just that without the wages following inflation they have gotten so low if they hire new people they would have to raise the wages for them and if they do that the people that kept working would notice they're getting paid a fraction of what they deserve too so instead of actually doing right by the workers they're just playing chicken to see who will fold first, the company still making billion dollar profits or poor people. They're getting politicians to change laws now so children can legally work more, because they know adults with rent and bills to pay can't live off their wages so now they're going after kids... It's a messed up world and this has nothing to do with right or left, they both serve the same system.
Agreed. In his trade Tuesdays he went from a guitar case all the way to a Custom Shop R9! I find his deal making abilities fascinating. The best I can do is buy high and sell low!
Size eh... BARITONE?! Nah, but really, love seeing unboxings. Almost as much as Mod Shop 😅 Side note, if I NGD an LP style guitar (closer to December, sadly) would I be able to ship you a case and have it sent back in that? Just a thought, im definitely GOING to NGD it, I'd love to be part of the show, but I just... don't trust that gig bag... Greetings and well wishes from Utah man!
You probably should reach out to him on his website about that. I know where you’re coming from, I’ve been worried about shipping in a gig bag, and I had no issues, I even got a Schecter in just the box (backorder on the case, actually both were, but the guitar came in stock first) and it came just fine. Heck, Trogly had a headstock break in a well packed case, so it’s almost the luck of the draw when it comes to shipping damage.
@@joermnyc true I did see that Centipede... a damn shame, fuckin GORGEOUS guitar... either way, I'll reach out again once I do BUY the damn thing, but I've also had him reply to my comments a few times when im early so, eh never know. I'd trust a Schecter more than a Gib just because it's a shallower break angle iirc, but JUST in a box seems a bit much, I'd rather wait for the case backorder... glad it's safe 😅 Cheers!
Im going through the same issue currently with Fedex. Mine has been sitting in the truck awaiting delivery; which is in the Louisiana heat, since sat. Lol
Kind of a shame you sold the korina Explorer but with the knowledge and funds I hope you will soon get a really rare vintage 50s or 60s Les Paul or other guitar.
I used an adhesive spray to install them the other day. Another option would be adhering a thin cardboard backing to each one to use those double sided tapes
I've been wondering if you were still buying and selling to get yourself a certain guitar as you did in the past. With showing us the korina explorer sounds like you answered that question.
Hi there I watch all your shows. I'm in Dublin Ireland I have a 2013 gibson snow falcon my friend and was wondering what the value would be if I was to sell as there is one on sale on reveb at the moment. Video on my CZcams channel of the guitar being played by mama's boys guitarist pat mcmanus. Love the show kind regards Patrick jnr mahony
So if you have just enough guitars, that you’re always forgetting at least one of them….does that mean you get to have a perpetual NGD each time you re-discover it?
Every unboxing video, I skip to the point where the case is on the table, right before he opens up the case for each guitar. That's the high point of these vids.

Better to have love and lost than to never have loved at all!

It's ridiculously expensive everywhere. It's a master built guitar inspired by an Italian luthier from the 1700s.

The thicker the foam, the lower the frequency that it will absorb. Buy the thicker if you can afford it.

💡 They should make a little short scale tele, 5 strings, for Keith Richards style open G. It’d make an easy guitar to carry around for that purpose.
