clutch kicking is definitely the best way to initiate imo.
😂😭 i’ll give that a go, thanks
Man once you get good at drifting in AC its so so rewarding absolutely my favorite game to drift in and its pretty freaking realistic if you've ever been drifting i love it great practice that can be applied in the real world also get a Direct Drive setup it makes a world of difference and get Moza i use a R12 but my first Direct Drive was a R5
I recommend taking a low hp car in the beginning. The e30 kunos drift is the best in my opinion for learning.
I’ll give that a try, thanks!
@@Vroomy Ur welcome 🙏
Been drifting in assetto for a little over a year now, here’s two things that you can consider to get you started.
1.) you can bind clutch as 2 inputs so from 0-95% have it act as a clutch and from 95-100% have it act as a handbrake, it actually works really well and i still don’t feel the need to buy a real handbrake. A guy named 2JayZ has a video on how to do it if you are interested.
2.) Watch ctorreto’s how to drift series all the way through, and focus on throttle control, it’s probably the reason majority of people have trouble getting used to drifting on wheel and his tutorials really helped me get started, and of course practice and you’ll be fine
Noted. I did watch ctorreto’s tutorial the other day but have yet to get back on the track. Thanks for the tips!
YES, make it a series, this is sick as I'm learning too! I can drift pretty well, but I sure want improvement.
We got this! This will definitely be a rollercoaster of a series 😂
The problem with handbrake is that you need clutch if you lose power. Having clutch would be easier for starting off 👍
Noted, i will have clutch binded in the next one 👍 thanks for the advice!
have to make it a series, love to watch it, its great to see what others do when i learn drifting myself
Thank you! Will do 😎
It took me a month with a trustmaster TMX. With no cluch. Then a got a fanatec Dd wheel and took me a week to get used to that with a cluch and a h shifter. Use Kerby cam trust me.
I will be using kirby cam next drift video 😂😭
scandinavian flick or clutch kick both techniques work pretty good and for transitions simply let off the gas when your car starts to transition so you don't over rotate/spinout and allow your steering wheel to spin freely while transitioning until you get close to your desired angle.... getting a handbrake will definitely help with making small corrections however do your best at not relying on it once you have one. best of luck and more importantly have fun with it
Thank you for the advice! Noted for next drift practice 😎
hey, I also drift with a G29. I've gotten pretty good at it since my main focus is racing. but I do have some advice.
The G29 is not the best whel for drifting, it's gear driven which means it can be a bit slow when trying to rotate the other way like a real drift car, therefore you gotta choose the right mods to drift too. A good example is WDTS and Gravy Garage, they're pretty beginner friendly
Yeahh thats what i heard aswell abt the g29 for drifting but I’m still willing to give it a go 😂 gravygarage is my favorite, thanks for the advice!
You're a brave man for drifting on wheel☠️
😭😂 I wanna join the wheel drifting gang
@@Vroomy Goodluck soldier lol
clutch kick is good and the best to be fair, the scandinavian flick is good when slow and handbraking is good when youre fast
and overpowering is good too, its when you floor the throttle and flick the wheel to the direction you wanna go and then you let the wheel self steer and grab it by the angle you wnat it to stop
I see so much potential, keep at it
Thank you!
I would recommend start off drifting with out a handbrake because you will be to dependent on it then you can get one later if you want, also lower hp cars are better to start off with
Noted, thanks for the tip!
So I get off when I get frustrated and when it’s straight you have to just barely fish tail it but your improved so quickly
Hi man, at first I didn't had a handbrake and I didn't set my clutch as handbrake. Clutch kick and flicks are the way to go for initiation, it tells you much more on weight transition of the car that just pulling the handbrake. If you learn how to drift without a handbrake it will be so much easier and fun later when you'll have a proper handbrake. I guess the purpose of the handbrake is really on very tight hairpins, when coming with some speed towards the apex and later on after some practice you'll see you can use it to extend the drift if you entered too soon in a corner. Practice and seat time works best. Good luck on learning. Stay sideways :D
Oh and for practicing, do donuts until you master them, around the cone, so that you have a point of contact where to look. Try to do a close donut around the cone then gain distance while drifting, keep the distance from the cone for some time then regain proximity to the cone again. This will tell you how to handle the steering and throttle management, and later on you will learn what's it called throttle steering (you can search on YT how it works)
Then for transition I can definitely recommend figure 8s. Is the best way to go.
Thank you so much for this. Will definitely use clutch more often and worry less abt the handbrake. Thank you for providing so much useful information 🙏
not sure if anyones told you this but if youre on a g29 you kind of need to help the wheel transition by pulling it to the side youre transitioning to, just bc the logi doesnt have enough torque to transition for you like how it does on a real car/higher torque wheels 👍
great video, when i started with AC drifting i didnt have a handbrake so i binded my clutch pedal to be the clutch and handbrake at the same time. so basically the clutch would be 100% and i put the handbrake to 50-70%. its a little bit better than only just having the handbrake.
Interesting, I never knew you could do that. Thanks for the tip!
TIP: Do not use the handbrake when you are learning how to do other drifting techniques, after learning these techniques try to learn how to use the handbrake and bind the cluth as an clutch
Going through the same thing right now.
Also make sure FFB isn’t too high you need some play to have that fast correction if needed. Also don’t keep gas pedal pressed just tap the gas on the corners🔥 GoodLuck You Got This
Thanks for the tip, I believe my FFB is set to 75% so it's not too high or low
Clutch kick, braking drift, scandi flick, Handbrake initiation and downshift drift ;)
Gotta write down these steps rq 😂😭 thanks for the tip
FPV drifting is more difficult on a Monitor but in VR its much much easier just as easy as 3rd person view but only with VR
Using throttle to either stay in a drift or transition into another corner say your 3/4 throttle in a corner and need to transition you would throttle a little more then let off the car will start to grip and turn the opposite way then get back in the throttle and steer
Also if you let the wheel glide in your hands you can feel when you have the right angle and the way you initiate will depend on the corner your going into if you need speed use weight transfer if your slower and need to gain speed clutch kick and if your fast and need to slow down use e-break
Thanks for the advice! Thats alot to take in but its gonna be a huge help
to do a transition you should let off the gas a bit pull the handbrake and then let the wheel a bit to center again
Noted, thanks for the advice!
Nice video! Keep practicing and you will be amazing at drifting on a wheel :D your already doing a great job :D
And if I may ask, what modded map is this?
Thank you! This map is motorland
@@Vroomythank you :D
I really love yours graphics
Thank you!
have you seen that guy that went from drifting only on beam NG to drifting in real life? technology is cool
I believe I have, it's insane how they're able to do that
Wane bee good at drifting? Keep practicing and use a clutch for sakes xD, I use G29 as well with clutch and gears. Just note you self the force feed back settings are very important when learning to drift. The wrong ffs setting will make it harder. Just google ffs g29 asseto drift ;)
😂 No worries, I’ll have clutch binder in the next one. Thank you for the advice!
Instead of using scandi flick to initiate, go faster .. rather than accelerating through a drift try and use momentum to carry you though the turn , literally everyone goes to slow and ends ups spinning out
Noted, thanks for the advice! Speed is def something i have to practice on
for transitioning its best to oversteer for a split second then let your steering wheel do the work for you and youll have transitioned!
Noted, thanks for the advice!
my second time askin for mon bazou or my summer car lol
I heard you the first time 😌it's on the list dont worry
What are your wheel settings bro ?
do you mind sharing the map and the car mod ?
Map is motorland and car is from the garagegravy pack
I can't even drift around a cone 😭😭
use DWG pack they’re most realistic
I’ll give those a try too, thanks!
is there a controller guide?
There are drift scripts for controller, very easy to learn from those
where can I find them?@@Vroomy
They have some good ones on racedepartment, but theres more help on youtube
what track is this? looks tight
Motorland
Track Name?
map name?
what car and map mod is this ?
Car is from the garagegravy pack and map is called motorland
thanks@@Vroomy
klutch gas wheel easy
somethimes handbrake
Noted, thank you!
Wheel cam please
Maybe soon
what track?
Motorland
@@VroomyTy !
as a pro i can say, u must use a low hp car or you will make bad habits
bad habits like what?
What is considered low hp
I was using garagegravy cars, id say they’re considered low hp
U cant really drift in a car with less power without the clutch pedal
Rebind that asap
Will do, thanks for the advice!
Yo bro can you give me your discord so I can personally help you out for free I could lowkey use a tandem buddy
