Pretty any time two people are fist fighting, there's some hate involved. Does it mean straight guys are superior that a gay man gets his ass kicked, according to the media? There are some tough gay dudes who can legit kick ass out there, if they beat a straight gay up is that still a hate crime? Love the media making everyone but straight, white men victims. Adorbs.
That's a really good point. Hate crimes used to be you showed up at someone's house at 3 in the morning when your kids were at home. Yeah...that word is getting waaaaay too informal
In Buffalo in the inner city a white teen was beat up by a group of black teens, cuz he was dating a black girl. They shouted "stay away from our women you white bitch!" Etc etc. Hate crime? Apparently no it's not according to the former DA. Beat cuz he's white dating a black girl....not a hate crime.... Bullshit double standards
Yeah also why does the "hate" component of the crime elevate it into a more serious category? Surely the violence is the problem, not the "hate" motivating it. If you get jumped by a gang for being black vs jumped by a gang for wearing the wrong football shirt - what's the difference, to you, the victim? Answer: none, you're still in hospital and they still walk away laughing.
