The thing is, once you start offering more and more for the stuff the seller will get anxious and start to realize they're making a mistake and if you do end up completing the deal even after offering more you could leave them feeling regretful and unsure about what they just did. Match their ask and be polite.

A little more never hurt anybody, it’s more like a tip I guess. It’s the sellers job? To know what they have and price it as they please. I recently picked up a silver GameCube with a wired oem controller , wave bird with 2 receivers . Def jam vandetta, sonic battle adventure 2, Mario sunshine, NFS, Tony hawk. She wanted $25 she was willing to put it on hold for me even tho she said she got a ton of messages and when I went to pick it up I gave her $50

If you're going to sell something, it's your responsibility to do research on your product. And if you're the type of person who just wants to get rid of said product, then you're only going to get what you're willing to accept. I would consider that a huge deal!! Plus they put in the effort to clean the cartridges, they earned their profit!

Anyone who knew better could’ve educated her about the potential of getting more than what she was willing to accept, but it’s ultimately on her to know that potential. Any buyer wanting to take advantage of a great deal like that is simply taking advantage of a great deal. Paid the seller double what they were asking for the lot and I still got a amazing deal. If I know I'm getting a deal I'll usually pay over asking. Giving what they are asking is on the seller. If you feel like they are way under priced you could offer more but that could have weird consequences. "Well how much are they really worth?"
What I find deplorable is asking for a lower price when you know it's a great deal. Saw something like this from someone on another CZcams channel. Pursuing the Correct Cost. Stopped watching after that. The discount wasn't much on an already crazy low price but it was the principle.

I once bought a copy of Ninja Combat for the AES for $75 on Facebook Marketplace. When I got the cart it was unlabeled and when I plugged it in, it didn't work. I assumed I got ripped off but just incase I opened the cart and saw that it was an official PCB. I tried a little harder to clean it and when I plugged it back in I saw that it was Metal Slug (they had listed 3 games that included Metal Slug and Ninja Combat), I was tempted to just keep it but every thing in my collection was either a gift, something from my childhood or something I found out in the wild (ie, something with a story behind it). I figured that the seller had just made a very expensive mistake and the right thing to do was to message them and let them know. Unfortunately whoever they shipped the Ninja Combat to didn't feel the same way (the seller refunded me the $75 and I dropped the Metal Slug off at their house). At least I feel good about sending out some good into the retro community. Still haven't found a copy of Ninja Combat that cheap though :)

But i really don't understand why people don't atleast do a quick google search before selling it only takes a couple minutes to do.

To get top dollar for things, you'd have to go about price checking each one, testing, cleaning, and hunting for a buyer for each one. Selling them all for so cheap in a single sale would save them time from doing all that.

If the seller recieveswhat they ask for a great deal like that then they are happy and thats fine. If a seller asks me how much im willing to pay i will low ball them every time because if they are worried about what they get then they should research it to know what to ask. There are only three occasions i come across where i will pay more and it would have to be a great deal like this before i would. First is if a child is selling their stuff and legitimately is trying to learn from it. Second is if the seller seems to be in a dire situation and it will help them out. Third is if it is an organization or fund raiser like a church, animal shelter, person raising money for themselves or family with medical conditions or things of those types and they must seem like they are being legit to me before i will. I will not however take advantage of someone who doesnt know what they have by lying to them in order to convince them what they have is worth nothing just to get them to come way down on their price. Ive seen that happen many times and i will step in. I dont care if it pisses the scammer off. You have to protect yourself and make a profit but you dont have to be a complete scumbag.

Have well known NES games going for $200-$300 making them unobtainable for most people so the only people who collect video games anymore are the ultra wealthy and speculators who want to flip them at a later date. These people just make it harder for everyone to play older and rarer games and force people to pirate everything. Never mine the robber barons who collect and barter sealed games, guaranteeing no one on the planet ever plays them again. Great system we have. Let's keep sealing rare games until no copies exist that can be played.

I’m all down to help out and being fair but we get cought up on monetary value a little too much sometimes. Sometimes people just want the stuff out of their house they don’t care how much it sells for hence why they don’t put the effort to find out how much it sells for. Sometimes people know how much it sells for but they don’t want to go through the trouble of selling it. We see this every week on some form or another. Value is at times subjective and relative. I think it’s cool he gave her more but I also wouldn’t have hold it against him if he didn’t. It is nice to be nice though

7:04 I watched the matrix for the first time yesterday right before going to your store. HOW MANY TIMES ARE YOU GOING TO SCAN MY BRAIN, AND USE IT FOR MARKETING PURPOSES! (lol I’m going to be honest, I’m VERY EXCITED to go to retro fest!) STAY RETRO! Edit: my answer to your question at the end is I would pay about 150-160 depending on how bad the condition of the games were, but considering I don’t always have 150 to spare, 120 is probably a good amount for a impulse buy.

Based on that pic. Those games were pretty dirty. Plus they said “only 20 bucks in gas” to check it out. That’s gotta be kinda far then? I drive a civic. Though that’s like a weeks worth of gas lol.

Look at USPS parcel ground, about the same shipping time, but cheaper

I would just pay whatever the person was asking for. Even if somethings worth more, they probably wouldn't care that much to be honest. I've sold super expensive games like Hagane for SNES for like $25. I didn't really care about the price at the time.

I live in the UK and when it's bootsale season if I'm out hunting toys then I pay what's asked of me if I see it fair , altho if I go to buy something and it's a child selling to buy more toys then I have no problems with giving extra , at the end of the day it's a life lesson they learn and it's obvious to me if the parent is letting the child price and sell their items then they are already off to a good start😊, games are hard as our second hand stores now charge a flat £10 rate in anything mainstream Nintendo even if its essential worth pounds , they now employ people to ebay stuff so rarely does a gem slip thru the cracks , unfortunate for me yes but I've had plenty of happy years hunting before the change 😊

I would pay the asking price. The seller is the one in control and sets the price.

I would of gave that person the price they ask for. It is not the person problem if they don't do research. It is not the buyer problem to hold your hand like a child to educate the seller. If the buyer knew what she had and wanted the item knowing its a hot item, He can offer them more to sealed the deal. Knowledge is not free.
Had this person on market place bought 2 rare first gen toy story toys. She didn't realize they were first gen under a specific brand and movie size toys. She post it for only $20.00 each. She didn't reply at first and i knew how much they were worth and i offer her a little more to seal the deal. She said i was busy at the time and wasn't trying to ignore you I sell it for $20.00 each.
I sold one for $300.00 and she notice i had the other one listed for $300.00 she got butt hurt and call me out during a 2nd conversation we had. I told her well you were not honest with me, Item is listed as new, The item was open box. It would of been a lot more if completely "new". I told her knowledge is the key, She stated i will not make that mistake again wtih the movie size. I told her it isn't just about the movie size, It was about the brand and generation. Told her the price i sold the one of the toy story item and block her, Day's later sold the other one. I was not that mad about the listed "new" since it was open box it is still worth a ton even at used price. I was shock.
Not the buyer problem if the person does not have knowledge. Not their responsibility
