    You said that The Salvation Army has no position on Creation and Evolution. However, our 5th doctrine states that "We believe that our first parents were created..." And where this is not a full, in-depth statement, it is enough to establish that The Salvation Army does believe that the world was created, placing it in the creationist camp.

    Something I'd like to see in these videos (if there is room) is a brief statement on a denomination's praxis in addition to their doctrine. For example, the Salvation Amry is known for providing a lot of social services like shelters and food kitchens funded by their Christmas bucket drives, as well as youth summer camps and their chain of low cost thrift stores.
    I'm also curious about demographic and geographic data on churches. For example, I am curious if there are many remote rural SA Corps, or if they tend to only be in urban centers.

      I am a Salvation Army officer and I say no. In order to be a soldier, you need to profess faith in Christ and make lifestyle commitments that are in line with Salvation Army values. You must be a Christian first before you become a soldier in the Salvation Army.

      @@meganmoretz2680 Thank you for your reply. I was once told by a young Salvation Army soldier that in order to join One had to first have heard God's voice calling them to service. This has stayed in my mind ever since. Over the years I've seen many officers in uniform and it astonishes me that God has spoken directly to each and every one.
      The officer of whom I speak is now a prominent figure in the Church, commanding a great many soldiers and lesser officers.
      He has even rewritten the Bible, replacing Yashuas name with his own. He also insists that he is addressed and referred to as 'Father'.

      There may be some theology differences, but from my understanding the basics of Jesus being born human, died for the world, rose from the dead should be the same throughout all of Christianity. If someone from the Salvation Army feels they are being(as the SA says) "called" to baptism, they are free to do so.

      @colinmerritt7645 Před 10 měsíci +2

      Not sure why that's funny, brother. I'll try to answer your unspoken question though:
      We use pseudo- military themes because we consider ourselves in a state of perpetual war. Our enemies are not of this world however.
      Ephesians 6:12 "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers (types of , in this case fallen, angels), against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."
      Look into the darkness, where poverty brings suffering, addiction twists into madness, sorrow to despair and hate. That's where we fight.
      I don't give a rat's hindquarters about secular wars, and if someone chooses not to add to the sum of human suffering... I have no problem with that.
