Malorie dying was butchers final straw in terms of not caring anymore with his power and letting the parasite take over
The parasite wanted to kill all Supes, he swore to Becca he would protect Ryan even though he hates Supes. John Winchester was the part of him that wanted to kill them all, so when Ryan showed his cold blooded killer side, there was no hope for him anymore and the Winchester took over. I just wonder what role Dean will play next season and if Sam will show up, possibly work with Bobby.

The way Erin Moriarty was playing against herself with her dialogue and mannerisms?That's what i was expecting from the actress in The Acolyte. That was some fckng gas!!She even had some hidden gems about what people think of themselves beneath the surface,as only a shapeshifter would know intimately..She looked like she was having fun playing a different version of herself against herself.

For real. I think the Shapeshifter Supe was one of the most underrated side-villians in the show with how well written and acted that character was. Wish they were aorund since the beginning.

I swear we had so many incredible and long-awaited moments. I saw the depressing scene of the Boys getting caught by Homelanders superhero regime, especially with Homelander turning Neuman into a martyr and at the top of the political hierarchy of power, not to mention bringing back Soldier Boy. Butcher is officially letting Joe take over now with the virus and the living parasite inside of him. Bro Kimiko's first words, screaming "NO" when seeing Frenchie taken away, was heartbreaking.😭 SEASON 5 IS GOING TO BE A DIABOLICAL END TO THIS AMAZING SHOW!

i think neuman’s blood bending powers give her some sort of invulnerability. when homelander used his lasers on her i think she reacted, which is why her eyes went white and basically ate the lasers. butcher however covers her eyes making it impossible for her to use her powers which is how he killed her

@@noway5238there’s a scene where someone is covering neuman’s eyes, they were clearly showing us that she can’t use her powers if her eyes are covered. when she finally got the man’s hands away from her eyes she blew his hands to pieces. i am pretty sure she is able to give herself some sort of invulnerability while using her powers
@@noway5238i do think you’re right about homelander’s lasers, but i also think they’re trying to show us that blood benders have a way of making themselves harder to kill. there’s a different blood blender on gen v that also survived homelander’s laser. either way my original comment was mostly because cinepals was confused how neuman died to butcher so easily when she has clearly been seen to basically be immune
@eeriebirdy yeah it's been proven she can't use her powers without her eyes. But I do think that most supes are indeed bullet proof so this does give them a form of invulnerability
If you look closely and compare Butcher when he was in the hospital and is out, it looked like he De-Aged after he let the parasite take over.
I think the parasite is keeping him alive.

Yeah when he entered the room, I immediately noticed his bloodshot eyes were gone.
He's basically fully healed now as the parasite is taking over. That's why he's looked so healthy but savage at the same time.
He even got his OG jacket and car back. This symbolizes that he is back in Season 1 mode where his target is to eliminate all supes and give a fuck about nobody. Not even Ryan.

Season 4 finally was the full arch on season 1. Back to Right where we started. Butcher is back to his Crazy self, Frenchie is now high and happy, mm is confused and away from his children and wife, anni is back to being starlight and most of all Huighe is now back to being the one we saw in season 1 even the blood on his face same as when he killed translucent.

I think they all die. In the comics, I believe Butcher killed them all except Hughie. I don’t think they’ve set it up that well but I wouldn’t be surprised if they die fighting a sup. My money is on A Train coming back and having a 3 way fight with Ashley and Deep while MM supports him.

Even though that was him in season 1, throughout season 3 and 4 his main goal was to eliminate only Homelander and tried to bring Ryan on his side until he saw him kill Grace he finally made the decision he wanted in season 1.

One of my theories is that the old butcher is not coming back. When Butcher called Hughie to say goodbye I think it was in fact goodbye fr. I fear the old butcher may never be back. And even if he did there is a very very high chance he will die along with homelander in the final season.
A scary yet possible take, I think we might see his glimpses rarely sprinkled throughout the next season. He might come to his senses before dying.

Great season. First 3 eps were "slower" but its been nonstop since ep4 and the finale didn't disappoint
The "slower" build up made the rest of the season stand out so much more. If the entire season was just as chaotic from start to finish it would have felt bland.
terrible season with completely pointless plot lines (gay drama, Hughie's mom and dad, Kimiko's past). The final episode is great, but everything else is a filler. Sorry, but it is.

Gen V season2 will definitely set her up to be the one taking care of Neuman's daughter and good chance, Marie would be the one ending Butcher in s5 after his final battle with Homelander.

yeah they said they'll do gen V season 2 which will pick up from boys season 4 then boys season 5 picking up from gen V season 2
They started shooting S2 in May I believe. They had to postpone it a bit after the death of Chance Perdomo (Actor of Andre)
These shows take 2yrs so it’s a good space. We basically get one every year. After the Boys, I think they should still make another spin off because the world itself is very interesting and has so many implications

Listening to Kimiko speak gave me a huge moment of awe as Frenchy kisses her. It is transformative. And now they will finally give each other a chance for their relationship if it is canon to be together like in the comics!!!

Neuman isn't invulnerable on her own, she's cut herself with a knife before in Gen V. She uses her blood powers to make her body invulnerable. The running theory is she needs her eyes to use her powers and in the scene you can see butcher covered her eyes. So she wasn't able to Harden her body

I'll miss neuman so much. She's just trying to survive in this cruel world. Can't wait for gen v s2, I know Marie will take up her mantle and take care of her daughter. ❤

Erin Moriarty really killed it as Shifter Annie. She really got to flex her acting muscles. It was a fun scene to watch.
And agreed on Karl Urban. A lot of talk goes to how great Antony Starr is, but Urban really brings it as Butcher. The show doesn’t work without either of the two poles of Starr and Urban. And they’re both kiwis!
I have to say I thought Sage coming in and saying that everything all went according to plan felt cheap. There wasn’t a lot of cause and effect on her part to actualize her goals. They just kept it vague and had her fill in the blanks. I liked how she overall fit into the narrative thematically, but functionally it was shaky.
All in all, the episode really shows how good the story can be when the plot is actually allowed to move. This season was pretty uneven, but the finale stuck the landing. Also the GOAT Soldier Boy is back 🥳. Too good of a character to end the way they did.
From what I got about Sage, I don't think she works the same way the conventional "super geniuses" work in other media. She can't just drop a domino and then "predict all the possible outcomes" down to a T. I think it's like what she said the first time she met HL, "People will tear themselves apart, they just need a little nudge". She understands psychology and how the masses react to stuff on a macro scale and she gave it the "nudge" that was needed, after that no matter what happens people will eventually tear themselves apart.
She directed HL and firefracker to Instigate riots and make starlighters and Starlight herself look bad, it would have taken really long time for Annie to gain people's trust again, Sage was the one that was feeding Intel to boys, she bought up the idea that Victoria needs to come out as a sup and pushed Homelander, knowing fully well that Victoria doesn't want that.

My problem with Sage is that there isn’t enough agency on her part to get what she needs done. For example, she needed Neuman dead, yet she was almost kept alive because she was about to work with The Boys. If Butcher didn’t fully commit to Kessler, which he was about to commit to Becca, then Neuman stays alive, The Boys have a powerful weapon, and the means to take down Homelander and Vought. Her plan only succeeded due to forces outside of her control. We needed more cause and effect on her part to maximize her chances for success. Instead we get her magically saying she planned everything after things just happened to go her way. Not compelling writing.

Like: Neuman lives>yes>situation can happen with 98% of possibilities>so this us what happens next and so on.
Then: Neuman lives?>yes> this is what can happen with 67%percentage...
Same thing in the opposite direction. She isn't a genius, she is presented as THE smartest person with a regenerative brain, so her brain surely works like a computer that can store A LOT of data and it's perfectly capable of doing so.
The ending montage of the boys being caught is genuinely so sad. I wonder what will happen with frenchie, MM, hughie and Kimiko :(

I mean, getting betrayed can fuck you up for life as well, and on top of that Annie got even involuntarily cucked by the shapeshifter too. Obviously it wasn't Hughie's fault, from his side he got SA'd again, but from Annie's site this just pushed even deeper into her insecurities.

Season 4 feels like The Boys was heading to its downfall and getting criticised by many people for the first 3 episodes.. But after watching season 4 finale, it's obvious that season 4 is setting up for final season.. I really hope season 5 will be The Boys greatest seasons..

This finale was peak for the boys,homelander finally snapped and is calling the shots,shapeshifter is dead,ASHLEY TOOK COMPOUND V,noir and the deep duo,ryan killing grace,evil butcher finally in control AND KILLED NEUMAN,sister sage is back,sam and katie jump kimiko then SHE FINALLY TALKED and frenchie GETS KIDNAPPED,love sauasage whacking mm with his you know what,the bald psychic/telekinesis girl,That part where starlight activates her powers and flys off into the sky near the end was sooo badass,THEN SOILDER BOY AT THE END,This was perfect writing what a way to end a season,I knew A-train would survive but noone believed me,WHAT A SEASON FINALE STRAIGHT 🔥🔥FR 😂😂👏🏾.
By far the absolute best episode of the season...Shape Shifter was such a kick as sup...wish they would have kept her around...Loved Ryan's arc...Loved that they brought back the Crusher at the end...Mute girl finally spoke... Frenchie a villain next season, so here for it...Sage planning this the whole thing the whole time..awesome...Ashley a Sup didn't see that coming but Nice...Butcher turning evil I like...Star Light was actually Not boring..Liking the more gritter version of her...And as per usual Anthony Star as Homelander was perfection...10/10

I really liked the final scene too. It's a huge tribute to Supernatural show. The dark gritty journey is just starting now for Butcher.

In the comics, it was easy to be against Butcher's plan because the situation wasn't as bad and it felt pointless for him to it. In the comics it was clear that he just lost his mind and turned evil but in the TV version it's really hard to disagree with him given how this episode ended. It's bad that it would affect Kimiko and Starlight but they really got to go at this point. I don't even really care about Ryan anymore. His arc is ridiculous. He goes back and forth too much to really have faith in him and now with Mallory he's murdered two people. Neuman was cool with everything Homelander was about to do until it came back to bite her. It was weird that she trusted Homelander to never out her as a Supe and after all the people she killed it's hard to feel bad for her. Her daughter is the only one i feel for because she didn't ask for her powers or to be sent to same orphanage. If they let Soldier Boy do his job last season none of this would have happened.

I agree with everything except for Kimiko being killed off. Starlight can die idrc she has become quite annoying and hateable as of late but yh if they had just let SB blast HL to ash this would have all been over sooner but no thanks to Starlight in S3 saying they need to stop SB instead of HL ruined any chance they had bc if SB possibly teams up with HL they are all screwed now.

In episode 5, we saw tentacles coming out of the rabbit that had been given temporary compound V. Butcher stomped on it.

Butcher driving the car and Jeffrey D. Morgan in the backseat reminded me of the show Dexter and how he called his dark side the dark passenger.

I’m so glad kimiko finally is gonna be able to talk!! And it’s so cool that gen v is finally getting meshing into the boys. I feel like the main character from gen v (I forgot her name) is gonna play A LOT into the end of the story. My theory is she will be the one to kill homelander. They’re making it seem like Ryan will but I think she could be a cool plot twist or maybe she’s the one to kill sage? Another thing I’m excited to see is Ashley. What are her powers? What will she do with them? I’m very excited for the next and final season

Last minutes scene insanely increased the hype for finale season.
Loved Hughie this episode and loved that frenchie and kimiko are back. But boy was I annoyed at some things. They would probably had Ryan on their side if they didn’t pressure him. And fucking butcher. Neuman on their side would have probably been a big help. Everything has just went to shit now. Now we gotta wait another year for season 5.

Season 4 is perhaps my favorite season overall. The stakes were so high, it was so thrilling and set up the ultimate season perfectly.

Neuman needs her eyes to use her powers effectively, it was hinted through the series. When he blocked her vision, it restricted her ability to effectively target him and use it.

What is Sage’s plan? Hire a shapeshifter to impersonate Starlight so he can murder Singer but just in case he doesn’t die make sure it records Singer saying that he wants to k*ll Neuman.
Also absolutely make sure Neuman meets up with Billy Butcher and the rest of the Boys but be sure Neuman meets up with Butcher after he and his tumor reconcile their differences so that Billy can take Neuman out and blame the death on Singer and or Starlight depending on how the shapeshifter does.
This was more complicated than Baron Zemo’s plan.

Not exactly "get Butcher to kill Neumann" more like "have the boys find a way to Neutralize Neuman". The boys have been known to find ways to take out supes so just set up the chess to have them find a way to take out Neuman.
