The transmission dipstick that I have linked in the video description is the same one that I have. With that dipstick you will insert it in the transmission fluid dipstick tube 16.6 inches to get an exact reading on the 62TE Transmission. Hope this helps!

    Hi there. First time watcher and just subscribed. I have a question for you. My roommate the day ran something over. He pulled over right away. He called me and said fluid was gushing all over from under the van. When he got back to the house, he told me that he thought that it had a hole in the oil pan because of all the fluid dripping out. Long story short I cleaned underneath the engine compartment and found no damage to the pan or any leak or damage to any other area under there. Once I had it all cleaned I found where a bolt was broken out between the two pans under the transmission we're also I noticed a scratch on the transmission pan and right above that there is the broken off bolt there. Went online and noticed it's some type of pressure valve tester for Chrysler manufacturing at one time deal. So anyhow my question is can I get the remainder of the bolt out and just put a regular bolt in there and seal it or do I have to buy that special bolt that goes in there with the cap any help would be appreciated thanks and I love the channel.

    • @Sellthoseflippingcars

    @BabaAsheri Před 3 lety +1

    Thanks for making videos and responding to comments that folks write on them.
    I have a 2013 T&C that I just serviced the transmission (new fluid and filter) yesterday. I have the dipstick you linked to but am having trouble getting an accurate reading on it. It seems the tube has one stopping point after I insert the dipstick. Even with the fluid pan measuring 140 degrees, I get no measurable fluid level on the dipstick at this first stopping point. If I wiggle the dipstick a bit, it then goes deeper into the tube by about 6-8 inches and hits another stopping point. From down there, even while cold, the fluid level then measures at 70-80mm! This was after adding only 4 quarts back into the transmission after emptying, changing the filter, and reinstalling the fluid pan. What am I doing wrong? Does the engine have to be off or running when taking the measurement? I appreciate any advice.

    • @Sellthoseflippingcars
      @Sellthoseflippingcars  Před 3 lety +1

      You are most welcome Jonathan! When testing your transmission in the Town and Country do you need to have the vehicle in neutral and running. Insert your dipstick 16.6 inches into the transmission fluid tube to get a proper reading

    • @Sellthoseflippingcars
      @Sellthoseflippingcars  Před 2 lety

      The dipstick should of came with a paper as well with charts on it. On the bottom of the chart you should see temperature with the side saying the number or visa versa. The chart will tell you what number you should be at. To know the temperature of your transmission you will have to use a code reader with live data to get the exact reading on the transmission temperature reading.

    • @Sellthoseflippingcars

    Hello brother. First, thank you for this great video. Second, Do you put fluid in the same place that you put the dip stick like other cars? Third, Have you had any problems with the heads for your 2014 Chrysler Town and Country? I had P0300 and P0304 on my 2014 Town and Country just prior to 100k miles. By the time I took it in it had 103K miles. The mechanic told me it was faulty heads Chrysler is refusing to extend my warranty like it did for 2011, 2012, and 2013 for the same defect. They extended the warranty in June of 2014 right when my car was built but they refuse to help me with the issue. So be careful with the heads being faulty and any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    • @Sellthoseflippingcars
      @Sellthoseflippingcars  Před 3 lety

      You are most welcome! It was fun making this video and I am glad that many people are finding it beneficial. Yes you add the transmission fluid in the same place that you put the dipstick. Make sure you let the vehicle run for two to three minutes before checking the transmission fluid level. Also make sure the vehicle is in park or neutral when checking the fluid. Sadly no I will not be able to find out if the heads were faulty On Our Town & Country. Due to a tropical storm crushing it with a tree. But I'm sure we will run into the Town and Country again it is a great vehicle.

    • @Sellthoseflippingcars
      @Sellthoseflippingcars  Před 3 lety +1

      Good morning Koneshua! On your 2014 Chrysler 200 the transmission dipstick that you need is the same one in the video. You can find it in the video description. That is where I would start, the transmission is all about hydraulic pressure. If you do not have enough transmission fluid in the transmission it will not build any pressure which in turn will not change gears.

    • @Sellthoseflippingcars
      @Sellthoseflippingcars  Před 3 lety +1

      If the fluid is good then you will be looking at a bad valve body. Here is the video I did on that czcams.com/video/aHyajCv-Fwg/video.html
      The replacement will be similar due to Chrysler using a similar transmission in your vehicle.

    Hey Zac, the ex has a 2014 T&C. She is getting a small leak that's appearing on passenger side with a reddish fluid. Seems to be coming from the area of power steering pump or fluid reservoir. I can't really tell. Is there any fluid that would have a reddish tint to it other than transmission?

    • @Sellthoseflippingcars
      @Sellthoseflippingcars  Před 2 lety +1

      No, power steering is clear, and brake fluid should be clear as well but is usually brown due to being dirty and burned. Red is transmission, check your transmission cooler lines on the passenger side.

    • @Sellthoseflippingcars
      @Sellthoseflippingcars  Před 4 lety

      If you want to make your shifts nice and smooth this is the video for you! After I changed the filter and fluid it was smooth clean shifts. Your transmission is in constant movement while the engine is running. The fluid coats the gears yet you still need more to replace the hot and used fluid. That is where your transmission filter comes into play. The filter cleans the fluid and all the contamination it has picked up on the gears. Clean fluid + Clean filter = Smooth beautiful shifts.

      @Sellthoseflippingcars  Před 3 lety

      As long as you get the leak fixed as soon as possible the transmission will not experience any additional where that is normally caused.

      😱 time to correct that ASAP Ericc, also check your fluid level before putting plug on. Just in case you lost any fluid

    Chock your wheels, and put on your e-brake before putting in neutral.

      Probably comments from Ford Windstar fans here that are lucky they can get 30K miles before needing a new transmission. Seen 2012 T&C with well over 258K miles still running strong on original motor and transmission used in taxi service. GM couldn't make a minivan to save it's life and Ford never got it right. Leave it to the company that invented minivans to build them to last. My 1994 3.3 Grand Caravan was pushing 327K miles when I sold it.

    The real best way to check the transmission on those vans is to junk the entire vehicle!

      Isn't that the same reason that no one knows about servicing their transmission fluid? If we all stay quiet and keep it short then no one will actually get all the information that they need. Thats why I say all my videos are for people of all experience levels

      The same place you put the dipstick, make sure you use a long funnel to prevent a mess. Thank you for watching!
