In the Cinelume dub, Stella is supposed to be a beautiful person with a great big heart and a wonderful sould (according to Brandon), an awesome person who's never afraid to say what's in her mind (according to Tecna), who is cheerful, lighthearted and fun (according to Flora), a kind of crazy of crazy fairy who always makes the others laugh (according to Musa) and a loyal, warm and loving friend (according to Bloom) and Jennifer Seguin is great at making her, well Stella. She knew how to make Stella's tone impressive and not to childish at the same time. She knew how to throw insults with style, especially in season 1, i believe the episode is called Riven betrayal, or even how to play a character down to the bone, especially that Stella vs Chimera clip which you showed
Wow, we have literally the same 1st places for the Winx in the English dubs. Aisha and Bloom have the best voices in 4Kids, Flora and Musa best ones are Nick's and Stella and Tecna best ones are Cinelume's

4Kids might have script issues, but damn the actors were really good. That’s why it’s still my favourite version. I actually enjoy listening to the characters, whereas some of the other versions it feels like I’m listening to my maths teacher.
the nick dub will always be my fav winx dub yes I’m aware nick reuined winx but I cannot deny the fact that it’s goal of introducing more ppl to the winx club was definitely achieved i along with others in the fandom wouldn’t know what winx is without it and tbh it stills holds up atleast for me and yes it’s mostly cuz I’m biased and I have no problem admitting that but I mean who wouldn’t be biased to the first version of anything they watched well that and I don’t hear ages in voice acting they just all sound the age they’re supposed to be

While I like the Nick dub, I don't think it (or Fate) did much for expanding the American Winx fanbase by a lot. It still seems underrated. Hopefully the reboot is released on a streaming service when it comes to America rather than on TV.
I'm glad here in Brazil we got a really consistent voice cast for Winx Club. In every animated thing the cast remained the same except season 8 and The Mystery Of Abyss movie. And it's important pointing out not everyone in the cast for season 8 changed, Stella's and Aisha's voice actresses remained the same (only ones from the main girls that kept their same voices) and other characters like the Trix. Unfortunately Stella's voice actress, Ana Lúcia Menezes, and Tecna's va before season 8, Iara Riça, both passed away in 2021. May they rest in peace, they were really talented voice actresses, Ana also voiced Gwen from Ben 10 and Amy from Sonic (nowadays her daughter, Bia Menezes, voices Amy, probably she'll be voicing Stella as well in the future), and Iara voiced Blossom and Harley Quinn.
Here in Brazil, even though the exhibition of the show changed channels, the voices always remained the same from Season 1 to Season 7. Dubbing in our country is a great part of popular culture and voice actors are stars for anime and cartoon fans.

I wouldn't say that Musa is specifically Chinese coded as there are some specifically Japanese influences in her family to (e.g. Musa's mom's concert outfit clearly resembling a Kimono paired with a typical Japanese hairstyle) but yeah definitely vaguely East Asian
Actually she was specifically modelled after lucy liu, a chinese woman, so the mix ups are probably due to people on the team being like "thats chinese right" or just not caring enough to be thorough.
@@Aisha_Luv Yeah I know that she was inspired by Lucy Liu but Lucy also has Taiwanese in her family. So my point still stands. Especially because you wouldn't consider Musa American just because Lucy Liu is would you? It isn't a 'that's Chinese right?' it's a conscious choice to be inspired by multiple cultures for a FANTASY show. You cannot say where Flora is specifically from, or Tecna, or Stella, or Layla/Aisha or Bloom just because you know their influences.

It's not that she doesn't have Chinese influences it's that Melody Musas home plant, her family and her are influenced by different East Asian cultures. Also no one's stopping anyone from having Musa as a headcanon being half Chinese and half Japanese or anything else.

It’s funny that all the first places voice you choose are the most similar to the Italian cast. That proof you really understood the characterization of each character that original writers wanted.
Brittany Pressley’s performance as Flora kinda sounds like, a character in a horror movie who the audience immediately knows is a red flag, because of her way too sweet voice.
9:10 Jennifer's voice always made the most sense to me, espeically because Stella is older than most of the winx The newer dubs however, make it seem like the opposite
when I was younger (Nick era), my favorite voice was Romi/Musa. specifically when Tecna was sacrificed, her voice was amazing there! it almost made me cry, almost like Romi herself just witnessed someone she loved die in front of her. you know a person’s performance is good when you start to feel certain emotions.

Say what you want about the Cinélume dub, but Jennifer Seguin is the perfect Stella in my opinion. She has a kind of posh voice. She's truly peak Stella to me. When it comes to Caren Manuel...I know exactly what they were going for: the shopping and boy obsessed sorority valley girl. But my gosh did they have to make her voice so shrill? I wanna rewatch the 4Kids since it's literally a licensed abridged version of the series, but listening to Stella and Flora makes it really difficult💀
I grew up with the Cinelume dub so it will always have my heart (except for Musa having a severe case of the flu in season 3). 4Kids is a good dub as well but I haven't watched the dub for myself.
Their Nickelodeon dub voices rocks. I wish it could be the same in season 7 and 8. Also in World of Winx. Hearing their Nickelodeon dub voices are fun, and makes their battle actions more epic.
I honestly found Techna's and Musa's 4Kids voices to be kinda charming. A way to make them more distinct in the group. Like you could tell which of them is speaking without looking. Of course, my introduction to the series was through 4Kids. I didn't know as an impressionable pre-teen watching on CZcams that there were other dubs. I know Nickelodeon had the reins at that point, but I thought the 4Kids was the original. And for some reason, RAI English sounded like a virus, so I never watched that dub until much later, and that dub bored me. I do like the Nick Musa and Flora a lot better, though, but a little bit of my heart wishes that Musa kept her 2000s lingo.
I been watching winx ever since I was young, and was introduced to the 4kids version (later Nickelodeon due to 4kids not being able to dub more than 3 seasons or something like that) 4kids was really unique and I agree on all of them being distinct from one another ; I wish 4kids dubbed more than 3 seasons though, it would have been so cool 😂
Usually the first voice I hear will always be the "correct" voice and every other one will feel "wrong" 😅 So it's great to hear someone actually give reasons why they like/don't like a dub.
So can I. I grew up with the Nick dub and it still holds a deep place in my heart despite the many people they have against it and I also enjoy the cinelume dub especially and if you combine them together they could be great
@@adnanjusufovic5177 Yeah the Nick voices weren't bad in my opinion I think it was more so the direction in terms of rewriting certain parts of the original script. But overall the Nick dub deserved better treatment.
The Cinelume and Nick dubs are my favourite dubs of the series. The others just aren't good imo. Something I liked about the 2 I named, Nick in particular, is that most of the people sounded like they were using their ACTUAL voice. No effects, no faking accents, just natural, pleasing vocal delivery.

I'm glad you revaluated Alejandra Reynoso, I've always found her really similar to Ilaria Latini (the original italian voice of Flora) and for the same reason I am glad you chose Romi Dames for First place for Musa and Jodie Resther for Tecna, they're also really similar to Gemma Donati and Domitilla D'Amico.
Growing up, I loved Musa from Nick because of how charming and beautiful her voice was. I wish I sounded like Musa when I was a kid because her singing voice is beyond beautiful too
Seeing this video i now am so thankful because in my country (Brazil) we had one dub for like 17 years (S1 till S7) and only S8 (till now) had a different dub Sadly Stella's and Tecna's VA passed away in 2021 (less than a moth apart from each other) but their voices will still be in our hearts and memories
2:41 I actually liked Haven Paschall for this role. I remember her as Serena from Pokémon XY & I thought her performance translated over well to Bloom too.
I definitely liked Haven as Serena too. For me, her best performance as Serena was from the earlier episodes where she was allowed to have variety in her pitch, making her sound more real. I never knew Haven voicing Bloom and Serena until now. And this is a fun fact that I will treasure! 😁
I'm pretty sure Musa had another Cinelume voice which you forgot to mention. It's the best and most memorable, quite high-pitched, a bit whiny but distinct, and it's mostly in season 2. I think it's the best Musa voice, especially when she goes "Charmix!" I must say I really appreciate all Stella's voices that are not too girly, especially Cinelume, 4kids, but mostly her Italian voice. She sounds like a strong Italian woman, especially during her angry moments, the voice gives her layers, and it contrasts her girly appearance a little. With Tecna, I've truly grown to love her 4kids voice. I know the accent is a stereotype, but Tecna with a higher-pitched voice is another example of taking the obvious away. Short hair doesn't mean she NEEDS a boyish voice, which was a go-to for most other dubs, so I love how 4kids went the other direction.
Romi Dames for Musa is just perfect in every way. My favorite voices for every other girl is their Cinelume voices (S1-3 Bloom and S2-4 Tecna to be exact), they're just so good imo.
I definitely wrote off the Nick dub for sounding so different from the 4Kids dub (which I grew up on and therefore am very biased lol). I didn’t think the characters sounded distinct enough from each other compared to the 4kids casting. I’ll definitely have to pay more attention whenever I binge season 4 again lol
id love to see another part if this video w dubs in different languages. it'd probably be hard to find all so im not expecting it or anything but i think itd be pretty cool lol
I'm so thankful to be blessed with the Brazilian Dub of the Winx, they didn't change ANY of the Winx's voices, even when they moved from CN(it used to air on CN around here) to Nick, only on S8 and Fate they changed the VAs for some characters, and sadly we lost the actresses for Stella and Tecna who passed away back in 2021. For me Ana Lucia will always be the perfect Stella, way better than many other dubs and original, and is not just my nostalgia speaking, her performance was and will always be perfect to me, even with the bad seasons, she managed to make Stella work (this also goes to the other actresses, we were very lucky), but if anyone has the chance give the Brazilian Dub a chance, it's great and consistent even the dub for Fate is decent.

@@pinkprincess6136 Rainbow wasn’t part of Fate’s production at all, it was all Netflix. In Winx’s case, a reboot is very needed. The last few seasons sucked, the writing was terrible and everything downgraded compared to the original seasons, luckily the reboot is supposed to be like seasons 1-4 and not childish like 7 & 8.
I didn't know there were so many voices for the winx I really love the 4kids voice for Musa and I love 4kids voice for Flora and I love Bloom's voice for 4kids and I love Stella's 4kids voice and I love Aisha's 4kids voice but really love Keke Palmer voice for Aisha I just think she voices her perfectly especially in season 5 when she wanted to save her family from Tritannus. I'm going to remember to watch your reaction to Avatar I forgot that you said you were going to do Avatar. And I love Tecna's voice from 4kids too.
Omg i can't imagine the headache it is to cycle through all these different dubs for english speaking fans. Thank god, the french version i grew up with kept the same cast through all seasons. As a side note, i started checking the english dubs out of curiosity and omg stella in english is soooo weird to me it's sooo different from the french version, she felt like a completely different person to me hahaha, tecna too.
For me, the Cinelume dub and the 4kids are the best followed by the Nick. I do have to add that I only watched the third season in English so I have my own personal favorites, but because my country dubbed over the English versions their voices sound more similar to the actors I grew up with.
My personal favorites will always be the 4Kids dubs, but I will give credit to a couple of the Nick, Cinelume and especially Duart. 3 Beep I must agree just doesn’t fit the characters at all. Here’s my ranking for the Winx: 1. Bloom- 4Kids, absolutely love her more feisty nature and plus Lisa Jaqueline doesn’t make her sound like such a self centered brat. I also really liked the Cinelume S4 voice 2. Stella- 4Kids, I know some complain she sounded too whiny or she was shouting a lot, but I feel it fit her more outgoing personality. I also like her Cinelume, only problem is she sounded too old 3. Flora- As much as I also liked the 4Kids voice, I’ll agree she sounded so high half the time it’s hilarious. I’d say her Duart voice was the best because she sounded like 4Kids, just in a lower pitch. Loved Nick, but she tended to be so dramatic, which isn’t Flora at all 4. Leila- 4Kids absolutely. She had the perfect delivery of making her a tomboy that kinda hates men, but also has insecurities of emotional abuse as a princess. I don’t mind her Cinelume, she just sounds too sweet imo. I really like her S4 Rai 5. Tecna- 4Kids both. I actually didn’t mind the accent mainly because it helps show that the girls come from very different worlds, not clumped together in the same solar system or even galaxy. But I think her S4 Rai voice was the best, only problem is I can only hear Francine from Arthur 😂 6. Musa- My personal favorite fairy and it’s largely because of her voice actress from 4Kids. Absolutely LOVED Lisa Ortiz as Musa, it just made her snarky side sound funnier, especially when she’s just teasing Stella specifically, but also has her moments when she’s upset, like Stella setting her up with Jared in S2. Plus I feel she also perfectly delivered when Musa was more emotional and sad, especially her episode, Magic in My Heart was actually sang by her VA too. I’m disappointed you forgot to mention Lisa Ortiz actually wrote all the music for the 4Kids dub, which gives her extra bonus points in my book, literally none of Musa’s voices sang for her. Also the Crystal Labyrinth episode, I feel Musa was very emotional in that episode. Never liked the first Rai voice because she sounded more stuck up and a snob instead of someone who isn’t a social butterfly. I’m gonna have to agree Nick had the second best voice, because her voice is similar enough to the 4Kids delivery, just in a lower pitch. And Romi Dames perfectly captured Lisa’s original sarcastic performance imo. 7. Roxy- Not a Winx for me, sorry, but here. Definitely her Rai voice. I’m sorry but her Nick voice made her sound so whiny and a bit of a crybaby. I don’t understand how you said that about Rai’s performance, considering Roxy actually gets hotheaded and slightly mad in a few scenes where she’s genuinely mad at the Winx because she’s scared of being a fairy and change. I’d say Duart would be 3rd. I’m sorry but I feel Roxy was a tad stuck up a couple times, which isn’t who she is, like she sounded like she was supposed to be the Winx’s age when she’s at least 3 years younger than them - 3 Beep and Dubbing Bros unfortunately had the worst performances. I was really excited when I saw the patron post yesterday because I love to see creators revisit old topics and have completely different opinions snd ket me just say you DID NOT disappoint! I was so happy to see the Nick dub VA's so high as ive always had a fondness for them ( especially Musa, Tecna, and Flora) Also i could be misremembering because i didn't go back and fact check but but im pretty sure that in the recasting videos and your old Winx documentary series you said most of the Nick voices were your least favorite and that it was a "middle of the road" dub at best (Paraphrasing of course) Thank you also for including Roxy and giving her the the attention she deserves! I had a thought about the Legendarium the other day, what if, (on top of the better fan made version where you have to play out the story) getting involved in the story, intentionally or not, also gets you stuck, and the more people are currently in there the more likely for someone to get stuck. It makes sense for it to be easier to be in the right place at the right time if you are in the story, right? I thought of a scene where the others are unavailable for whatever reason and the remaining one have to do something in the Legendarium by herself. Running around looking for the story, she hears someone say, "... Princess of 'whatever Kingdom'. She goes, "ME! I'm the Princess!" and everyone just goes along with it. Lol. Maybe the actual princess as depicted in the storybook is in the background somewhere.
When I started watching Winx Club in English, I realised how spoiled I'd been with the Dutch dub. Because every single one of the voices used there is just perfect for the character and portrays their personality and emotions very well! The only downside is that the Dutch script makes the show seem much more juvenile than it has to be. So I always end up torn between watching it in English for a more mature tone, or watching it in Dutch for the best voices 😆
Here are the voice actresses that I would choose for the Winx if I were in charge of casting and why? Bloom - Mae Whitman (Like with Bloom's 4Kids portrayal, I could see Mae giving Bloom a mix of both sweet and fiery at the same time. If her role as Katara in Avatar The Last Airbender is anything to go by she combine a sense of kindness and strong will with a bit of stubbornness thrown in to the mix.) Stella - Tara Strong (This girl knows how to play badass, funny and fashionable female characters before. I could her sounding like she played Juliet Starling from Lollipop Chainsaw minus the swearing of course.) Musa - Cristina Vee (I know that she's not asian, but she's the closest sounding to Musa's 4Kids voice without it being Lisa Ortiz herself. Plus she CAN sing. Not to mention she has played magical girls before so...) Flora - Kira Buckland (Okay in my defence, I wanted Andrea Libman to voice Flora. But I didn't want her to sound like the human version of Fluttershy. So I thought Kira would be a better fit. I could see Kira giving Flora some serious Team Mom energy while still having her badass moments. Tecna - Kath Soucie (Maybe it's just a me thing, but I kinda liked that the actress who played Tecna in the 4Kids dub gave her a British accent because it made her stand out from the rest of the main cast a bit more since she's from a very tech heavy realm. Also I really like Kath's performance as Agent K from The Replacements. Aisha - Cree Summer (I urge anyone to watch Mummies Alive or Mortal Kombat Defenders of the Realm for an idea of how Cree could do her take on Aisha.) Roxy - Lacey Chabert (Who better to portray the Fairy of Animals than Eliza Thornberry herself! Enough said, plus Lacey has voiced plenty of teenagers before, even in live action!)
I grew up watching Winx in German and I still prefer the German Voices. It´s what I´m used to, they fit well imo and it´s not as chaotic as all the different English voices.
@@will7922 i guess that depends on what you grew up watching. Of course if the voices are different from what you are used to, they will appear strange to you. But of course casting alone doesn't guarantee a good dub as also talked about in the video. A good script and direction is also needed and I believe the German dub has some skilled VAs
I grew up with Cinelume, but from the multilanguage clips I have seen, the German dub is definitely one of the better ones. The songs were great too - Heller als Licht is the only alternative Winx opening I actually like.
4kids bias OF COURSE, but Nick did great as well. If I had to fancast for the new season, though, I'd cast Jodi Benson (Bloom), Cree Summer (Aisha), Andrea Baker (Stella), Maria Canals-Barrera (Flora), Keri Walhgren (British Tecna), and Constance Wu (Musa).
@@Superlad945 I mainly chose JB because I watched a video about her voice acting career and I'd love for more people to appreciate her as a leading lady besides being Ariel (or Thumbelina). I do like Christy for Roxy, though...And I do like Ming Na-Wen for Musa. I mainly thought of Constance because of her work on "Velma." Edit: And no one hate me, but I also considered Awkwafina for Musa aa well.

Yeah, Jodi is my first choice because of her (and co-star Christopher Daniel Barnes, who I wouldn't mind playing Sky in this hypothetical) underrated vocal skills--though I could also see her playing Icy if she used her Vanessa voice...in any case, Christy is also someone to consider for Bloom. Salli Saffioti is also a second place for Aisha for me thanks to Clawdeen. But I won't go into the spiral of possible candidates!

While the brand itself has a weird history with WC, I doubt most of the crew involved with TPATF knew about it, given that it's still kinda underrated here in America--and this was BEFORE the Nick dub. I really enjoyed Anika as Catwoman in the "Injustice" film (even if the movie itself was terrible), so that'd be a good pick! Staying on the Disney side, Tress MacNeille could potentially make a good Stella, given her performance as Daisy Duck and Anastasia Tremaine--though perhaps a bit deeper-voiced than what we're used to. Let's be honest: the show being streamed on Disney+ and having several Disney VAs would be the perfect reconciliation between Iginio and the company--though perhaps Nickelodeon's original seasons has scared him away from direct collaboration.
I agree I liked 4kids but wasnt a fan of Techna's British accent. Nick's voice actor (before butterflix of course) was on point with each character in my opinion of course
i swear i love roxy in cinelume and nick they just remind me of eachother, same with tecna in nick and cinelume season 3 they kind of compliment eachother

Yep! I feel like 4Kids get hated on so much because of a lot of censorship, but a lot of people don’t realize how stingy and ridiculous the American broadcasting for kids shows is. I actually really love a lot of the actors and especially the change in dialogue. To be fair the dub also skipped a lot of continuity errors the Cinelume dub kept running into (like Red Fountain being a magical school for wizards but the guys NEVER use magic)
The Cinelume/Rai English and Dubbing Bros. dub sounds like the girls were voiced by the same person. 4Kids - cheesy dialogue, but the characters had personality. The Nick dub is a bit of a hit and miss
I say that 4Kids is the supreme one, then it is the Nickelodeon one. I only do not like the change of Tecna's voice actress in te 3 season of the 4Kids dub; I have nothing against the actress, however, in my opinion, the voice dosen't suit her. Molte grazie per il video, caro Thomas! XOXOXO

nick has my favorite dubs by far. i not really from a voice acting talent stand point but mostly because of how personality the voices had. They were pretty distinct as well.
This just made me think about my language dub. When i'm really thinking about it Czech dub was good. All girls had a few voice actresses but almost all of them were amazing, the worst one was decent. Just if somebody wanted to know, here is how many different voices each winx had in this dub and my ranking of them: Bloom: she had 4 very different voices 1. Seasons 2 - 4 2. Season 1 and Lost Kingdom 3. Season 5 4. Season 6 - 7, Magical Adventure and Mystery Of Abyss Stella: 4/5 of Stella's dubs were pretty good 1. Season 2 - 4 2. Season 1 3. Lost Kingdom Tecna: first 2 are perfect for Tecna but even number 3 isn't bad. 1. Season 2 - 4 2. Season 1 and Lost Kingdom 3. Season 5 - 7, Magical Adventure and Mystery Of Abyss Layla/Aisha: both good fit for her, but i prefer the first one, she's much better with emotions in this. 1. Season 2 - 4, Lost Kingdom and Magical Adventure - in those she was called Layla 2. Season 5 - 7 and Mystery Of Abyss - in those she was called Aisha Roxy: both good but season 4 voice was perfection for Roxy's character 1. Season 4 2. Season 5 - 7 If you want go check them. I just realized how amazing dub Czechs have. No matter if it's real or animated or anything Czechs know hot to pick perfect voices for all characters and give a good performance. Czechs and Slovaks completely suck in making their own movies and series (every single one of them is horrible) but Czechs are masters in voice acting.

Since Norway isn’t that big of a country we don’t have that many voice actors so we often hear repeating people (seriously if you watch a new show there’s always minimum 2 voices you’ll recognise) so we’ve had a very consistent cast

I actually kind of like Musa’s Cinelume voice for seasons 3 and 4 and I might even go so far as to call it my favorite. Yeah she might sound “too old” but it just works for me.
I remember watching both Winx Club and Transformers Cybertron as a kid dubbed to my native language and it always felt really weird hearing Override and Techna speaking since they share a VA in both dubs, I first though I was just hearing things but after checking they actually do share the voice actor

It's incredible to think that the characters have so many english voices. The german dub has like... 3 changes in voice actors, but other than that they are pretty consistantly the same voice. At least for the main girls. They even got blooms original voice actress for the fate saga dub
It's honestly ridiculous yet hilarious because of how much dubbing history Winx Club has had. It reminds me of the dubbing history of the Neon Genesis Evangelion franchise. The original series' first dub was created by ADV Films in 1997, but they also made a Director's Cut version of their dub to correct the performances and replace the original actors that weren't really good. Then in September 1 of 2007, Studio Khara and Gainax created the era of the Rebuild movies which served as a reimagining of the manga and series but not as remakes, where the dub for the first 3 movies were created by Funimation where they had 3 actors from the ADV dub and 1 from the Director's cut version, Spike Spencer, Allison Keith, Tiffany Grant, and John Swasey. But they had to replace the rest of the characters' actors with ones that work for Funi. And then in 2019 when Netflix made the announcement of adding the original series they didn't want to pay extra for the ADV dub so they just got with their own Dubbing studio, VSI Studios, and made an entire new cast, and they even Irish musical theater actress Stephanie McKeon, who's very well known as playing Anna in the musical theater version of Frozen in the West End of London, England. She has had no experience in voice acting whatsoever until she was casted as one of the main characters in the series. She wasn't terrible but it was just the voice direction and script she was given brings her down to, like, a 7/10 for me. The Netflix dub is also controversial not just because of the cast but also because the script the actors were given was very literal. They had also changed a very important line that was important to the original story of both the manga and series, the subtitles were even changed and also changed the line like the that dub had. That line in particular also revealed that the lead role himself was bisexual and the guy he was with was gay, and the creator of the manga and series did that on purpose because he wanted to include self discovery that kids go through like sexualities. So with that line being changed, that just changes everything about the story. The original line was "It means I love you," in both the Japanese and original English dubs but Netflix's dub AND subtitles changed it to "It means I like you."And fun fact: Funimation had actually been trying to get enough money to pay for the rights to stream the series but when they did, Netflix got licensing last minute. Then in 2020, when Amazon added the Rebuild movies, they got with Dubbing Brothers (yes, the same studio for the God awful English dubs for the Winx Club movies) and re-dubbed all the movies. And because of that, Funimation lost the rights to dub the movies so Funi couldn't dub the final Rebuild movie so Dubbing Brothers did. Their dub for the 4th movie was actually good but not for the first 3 which is ironic. They also got almost ALL of the original ADV voice actors from the Director's Cut version of the OG dub unlike Funimation had 4 of the original actors of the ADV dub. And honestly, even with the original actors like Spike Spencer, the OG actors sounded like they didn't want to go through the dubbing process of the movies again because they already did with the Funi dub. And Allison Keith just sounded too old to play her character again compared to how young she sounded in the OG dub and Funi's dub of the movies. Amanda Winn Lee suffered through same problem with coming back from not being included in the Funi dub to play her character again because she sounded too old like Allison Keith did. But yeah, the dubbing history for Winx reminds of that situation.
In Turkey we have the BEST THE BEST voice actresses for Winx girls and we have them since 2004 Bloom,Stella,Musa,Tecna and Layla (Aisha) have the same voice through out the WHOLE FRANCHISE I mean you can watch season 8 and girls still have the same voice. Apparently we got a lot of Flora voices that’s kind of complicated but Stella’s Turkish voice actress is the BEST
Tbh, I quite prefer the Cinelume dub, but I am aware is just 100% personal nostalgia and bias. I feel like I might have been one of the 5 people that found Winx on Netflix when tbe earlier seasons were on there. Netflix had the Cinelume dub. I even like the way some of the characters sound sick with the audio quality and Musa's Cinelume voice just because of the pure nostalgia. I've rewatched the first 4 seasons like, 10 times but I've been considering rewatching everything in the 4kids dub considering how highly Thomas has been talking about it lately. I never bothered before cuz I just assumed it'd be terrible with the lore changes (I'm usually not a fan of that) and I'd heard some things about 4kids dubs for shows I've never watched
I would not recommend that you watch the 4Kids dub, if you grew with with Cinelume or Nick. They change so many things in the show and the girls personalities that it might as well be called an Americanized adaptation rather than a dub. Also - and 4Kids fans don't like this, in an old interview Iginio Straffi mentioned that he didn't like the 4Kids dub because it removes something 'essential.' Also, do keep in mind that whenever the show is dubbed in another country, the Cinelume/Italian scripts and songs are sent over. 4Kids got their rights revoked and as a result, the complete series was never released on DVD for that dub.
@@blazekerman4767 My main concern with trying to watch it is just finding it in the first place, I'll admit. But it's been over 20 years and the internet works hard. I don't know what I exactly expect with the 4kids dub other than cringe (I can already tell Musa's lines will kill me) and lore changes. But my main reason behind considering searching for it other than Thomas's opinions is to compare the two dubs. Just for fun. I intend to walk into it with as best of an open mind as I can muster if I ever were to.
I just rewatched the 4Kids dub (again…) and this time, I was paying more attention to Kerry’s voice acting. Honestly, her season one performances are really solid and don’t fall into that overly soft quality people dislike about Flora’s other voice actors. During seasons two and three, she definitely falls more into that overly shy and airy quality. But still, there are a lot of episodes where she maintains what made her voice acting so great in season one (especially the episode where Flora earns her Enchantix).
Musa sounds so dead in the cinelume dub, it was like she had a severe case of the flu.

In the Cinelume dub, Stella is supposed to be a beautiful person with a great big heart and a wonderful sould (according to Brandon), an awesome person who's never afraid to say what's in her mind (according to Tecna), who is cheerful, lighthearted and fun (according to Flora), a kind of crazy of crazy fairy who always makes the others laugh (according to Musa) and a loyal, warm and loving friend (according to Bloom) and Jennifer Seguin is great at making her, well Stella. She knew how to make Stella's tone impressive and not to childish at the same time. She knew how to throw insults with style, especially in season 1, i believe the episode is called Riven betrayal, or even how to play a character down to the bone, especially that Stella vs Chimera clip which you showed
Tbh I felt Stella sounded a bit of a typical mean rich girl. Plus I personally felt the actress sounded too old for the character

4Kids might have script issues, but damn the actors were really good. That’s why it’s still my favourite version. I actually enjoy listening to the characters, whereas some of the other versions it feels like I’m listening to my maths teacher.

Whenever I think about the voices of the Winx Club, it’s the Nickelodeon ones that bring out the true personalities of each girl
While I like the Nick dub, I don't think it (or Fate) did much for expanding the American Winx fanbase by a lot. It still seems underrated. Hopefully the reboot is released on a streaming service when it comes to America rather than on TV.
I grew up with the nick dub and I loved every bit of it. Expect season 7 and 8, those seasons aren't canon to me.
I'm glad here in Brazil we got a really consistent voice cast for Winx Club.
In every animated thing the cast remained the same except season 8 and The Mystery Of Abyss movie.
And it's important pointing out not everyone in the cast for season 8 changed, Stella's and Aisha's voice actresses remained the same (only ones from the main girls that kept their same voices) and other characters like the Trix.
Unfortunately Stella's voice actress, Ana Lúcia Menezes, and Tecna's va before season 8, Iara Riça, both passed away in 2021. May they rest in peace, they were really talented voice actresses, Ana also voiced Gwen from Ben 10 and Amy from Sonic (nowadays her daughter, Bia Menezes, voices Amy, probably she'll be voicing Stella as well in the future), and Iara voiced Blossom and Harley Quinn.

Here in Brazil, even though the exhibition of the show changed channels, the voices always remained the same from Season 1 to Season 7. Dubbing in our country is a great part of popular culture and voice actors are stars for anime and cartoon fans.

I wouldn't say that Musa is specifically Chinese coded as there are some specifically Japanese influences in her family to (e.g. Musa's mom's concert outfit clearly resembling a Kimono paired with a typical Japanese hairstyle) but yeah definitely vaguely East Asian
Actually she was specifically modelled after lucy liu, a chinese woman, so the mix ups are probably due to people on the team being like "thats chinese right" or just not caring enough to be thorough.

It isn't a 'that's Chinese right?' it's a conscious choice to be inspired by multiple cultures for a FANTASY show.
You cannot say where Flora is specifically from, or Tecna, or Stella, or Layla/Aisha or Bloom just because you know their influences.
I always thought she's Chinese, especially in her Fairy Dust thing, it looks like a Chinese lantern you'd see in Chinese festivals

Also no one's stopping anyone from having Musa as a headcanon being half Chinese and half Japanese or anything else.

It’s funny that all the first places voice you choose are the most similar to the Italian cast. That proof you really understood the characterization of each character that original writers wanted.
Brittany Pressley’s performance as Flora kinda sounds like, a character in a horror movie who the audience immediately knows is a red flag, because of her way too sweet voice.

when I was younger (Nick era), my favorite voice was Romi/Musa. specifically when Tecna was sacrificed, her voice was amazing there!
it almost made me cry, almost like Romi herself just witnessed someone she loved die in front of her. you know a person’s performance is good when you start to feel certain emotions.

Say what you want about the Cinélume dub, but Jennifer Seguin is the perfect Stella in my opinion. She has a kind of posh voice. She's truly peak Stella to me. When it comes to Caren Manuel...I know exactly what they were going for: the shopping and boy obsessed sorority valley girl. But my gosh did they have to make her voice so shrill? I wanna rewatch the 4Kids since it's literally a licensed abridged version of the series, but listening to Stella and Flora makes it really difficult💀

I honestly found Techna's and Musa's 4Kids voices to be kinda charming. A way to make them more distinct in the group. Like you could tell which of them is speaking without looking. Of course, my introduction to the series was through 4Kids. I didn't know as an impressionable pre-teen watching on CZcams that there were other dubs. I know Nickelodeon had the reins at that point, but I thought the 4Kids was the original. And for some reason, RAI English sounded like a virus, so I never watched that dub until much later, and that dub bored me. I do like the Nick Musa and Flora a lot better, though, but a little bit of my heart wishes that Musa kept her 2000s lingo.

@@adnanjusufovic5177 Yeah the Nick voices weren't bad in my opinion I think it was more so the direction in terms of rewriting certain parts of the original script. But overall the Nick dub deserved better treatment.
The Cinelume and Nick dubs are my favourite dubs of the series. The others just aren't good imo. Something I liked about the 2 I named, Nick in particular, is that most of the people sounded like they were using their ACTUAL voice. No effects, no faking accents, just natural, pleasing vocal delivery.

I'm glad you revaluated Alejandra Reynoso, I've always found her really similar to Ilaria Latini (the original italian voice of Flora) and for the same reason I am glad you chose Romi Dames for First place for Musa and Jodie Resther for Tecna, they're also really similar to Gemma Donati and Domitilla D'Amico.

I'm pretty sure Musa had another Cinelume voice which you forgot to mention. It's the best and most memorable, quite high-pitched, a bit whiny but distinct, and it's mostly in season 2. I think it's the best Musa voice, especially when she goes "Charmix!"
I must say I really appreciate all Stella's voices that are not too girly, especially Cinelume, 4kids, but mostly her Italian voice. She sounds like a strong Italian woman, especially during her angry moments, the voice gives her layers, and it contrasts her girly appearance a little.
With Tecna, I've truly grown to love her 4kids voice. I know the accent is a stereotype, but Tecna with a higher-pitched voice is another example of taking the obvious away. Short hair doesn't mean she NEEDS a boyish voice, which was a go-to for most other dubs, so I love how 4kids went the other direction.
Romi Dames for Musa is just perfect in every way.

I definitely wrote off the Nick dub for sounding so different from the 4Kids dub (which I grew up on and therefore am very biased lol). I'm so thankful to be blessed with the Brazilian Dub of the Winx, they didn't change ANY of the Winx's voices, even when they moved from CN(it used to air on CN around here) to Nick, only on S8 and Fate they changed the VAs for some characters, and sadly we lost the actresses for Stella and Tecna who passed away back in 2021.
For me Ana Lucia will always be the perfect Stella, way better than many other dubs and original, and is not just my nostalgia speaking, her performance was and will always be perfect to me, even with the bad seasons, she managed to make Stella work (this also goes to the other actresses, we were very lucky), but if anyone has the chance give the Brazilian Dub a chance, it's great and consistent even the dub for Fate is decent.

In Winx’s case, a reboot is very needed.
The last few seasons sucked, the writing was terrible and everything downgraded compared to the original seasons, luckily the reboot is supposed to be like seasons 1-4 and not childish like 7 & 8.

I didn't know there were so many voices for the winx I really love the 4kids voice for Musa and I love 4kids voice for Flora and I love Bloom's voice for 4kids and I love Stella's 4kids voice and I love Aisha's 4kids voice but really love Keke Palmer voice for Aisha I just think she voices her perfectly especially in season 5 when she wanted to save her family from Tritannus. I'm going to remember to watch your reaction to Avatar I forgot that you said you were going to do Avatar. And I love Tecna's voice from 4kids too.
Omg i can't imagine the headache it is to cycle through all these different dubs for english speaking fans. Thank god, the french version i grew up with kept the same cast through all seasons.
As a side note, i started checking the english dubs out of curiosity and omg stella in english is soooo weird to me it's sooo different from the french version, she felt like a completely different person to me hahaha, tecna too.

It’s in this kind of moments I’m so happy that I grew up with the french dub. It’s just PER-FEC-TION.
For me, the Cinelume dub and the 4kids are the best followed by the Nick. I do have to add that I only watched the third season in English so I have my own personal favorites, but because my country dubbed over the English versions their voices sound more similar to the actors I grew up with.

My personal favorites will always be the 4Kids dubs, but I will give credit to a couple of the Nick, Cinelume and especially Duart. 3 Beep I must agree just doesn’t fit the characters at all. Here’s my ranking for the Winx:
1. Bloom- 4Kids, absolutely love her more feisty nature and plus Lisa Jaqueline doesn’t make her sound like such a self centered brat. I also really liked the Cinelume S4 voice
2. Stella- 4Kids, I know some complain she sounded too whiny or she was shouting a lot, but I feel it fit her more outgoing personality. I also like her Cinelume, only problem is she sounded too old
3. Flora- As much as I also liked the 4Kids voice, I’ll agree she sounded so high half the time it’s hilarious. I’d say her Duart voice was the best because she sounded like 4Kids, just in a lower pitch. Loved Nick, but she tended to be so dramatic, which isn’t Flora at all
4. Leila- 4Kids absolutely. She had the perfect delivery of making her a tomboy that kinda hates men, but also has insecurities of emotional abuse as a princess. I don’t mind her Cinelume, she just sounds too sweet imo. I really like her S4 Rai
5. Tecna- 4Kids both. I actually didn’t mind the accent mainly because it helps show that the girls come from very different worlds, not clumped together in the same solar system or even galaxy. But I think her S4 Rai voice was the best, only problem is I can only hear Francine from Arthur 😂
6. Musa- My personal favorite fairy and it’s largely because of her voice actress from 4Kids. Absolutely LOVED Lisa Ortiz as Musa, it just made her snarky side sound funnier, especially when she’s just teasing Stella specifically, but also has her moments when she’s upset, like Stella setting her up with Jared in S2. Plus I feel she also perfectly delivered when Musa was more emotional and sad, especially her episode, Magic in My Heart was actually sang by her VA too. I’m disappointed you forgot to mention Lisa Ortiz actually wrote all the music for the 4Kids dub, which gives her extra bonus points in my book, literally none of Musa’s voices sang for her. Also the Crystal Labyrinth episode, I feel Musa was very emotional in that episode. Never liked the first Rai voice because she sounded more stuck up and a snob instead of someone who isn’t a social butterfly. I’m gonna have to agree Nick had the second best voice, because her voice is similar enough to the 4Kids delivery, just in a lower pitch. And Romi Dames perfectly captured Lisa’s original sarcastic performance imo.
7. Roxy- Not a Winx for me, sorry, but here. Definitely her Rai voice. I’m sorry but her Nick voice made her sound so whiny and a bit of a crybaby. I don’t understand how you said that about Rai’s performance, considering Roxy actually gets hotheaded and slightly mad in a few scenes where she’s genuinely mad at the Winx because she’s scared of being a fairy and change. I’d say Duart would be 3rd. I’m sorry but I feel Roxy was a tad stuck up a couple times, which isn’t who she is, like she sounded like she was supposed to be the Winx’s age when she’s at least 3 years younger than them

I was so happy to see the Nick dub VA's so high as ive always had a fondness for them ( especially Musa, Tecna, and Flora) Also i could be misremembering because i didn't go back and fact check but but im pretty sure that in the recasting videos and your old Winx documentary series you said most of the Nick voices were your least favorite and that it was a "middle of the road" dub at best (Paraphrasing of course) Thank you also for including Roxy and giving her the the attention she deserves! I had a thought about the Legendarium the other day, what if, (on top of the better fan made version where you have to play out the story) getting involved in the story, intentionally or not, also gets you stuck, and the more people are currently in there the more likely for someone to get stuck.
It makes sense for it to be easier to be in the right place at the right time if you are in the story, right?
I thought of a scene where the others are unavailable for whatever reason and the remaining one have to do something in the Legendarium by herself.
Running around looking for the story, she hears someone say, "... Princess of 'whatever Kingdom'.
She goes, "ME! I'm the Princess!" and everyone just goes along with it. Lol.
Maybe the actual princess as depicted in the storybook is in the background somewhere.
I grew with Rai so thats on top 4 me 😘😘
But i must say i used to think the 4kids dub was bad but once i started watching it, i really enjoyed

When I started watching Winx Club in English, I realised how spoiled I'd been with the Dutch dub. Because every single one of the voices used there is just perfect for the character and portrays their personality and emotions very well! The only downside is that the Dutch script makes the show seem much more juvenile than it has to be. So I always end up torn between watching it in English for a more mature tone, or watching it in Dutch for the best voices 😆

Bloom - Mae Whitman (Like with Bloom's 4Kids portrayal, I
could see Mae giving Bloom a mix of both sweet and fiery

kindness and strong will with a bit of stubbornness
thrown in to the mix.)
Stella - Tara Strong (This girl knows how to play
badass, funny and fashionable female characters
before. I could her sounding like she
played Juliet Starling from Lollipop Chainsaw
minus the swearing of course.)
Musa - Cristina Vee (I know that she's not asian,
but she's the closest sounding to Musa's 4Kids
voice without it being Lisa Ortiz herself. Plus
she CAN sing. Not to mention she has played
magical girls before so...)
Flora - Kira Buckland (Okay in my defence, I
wanted Andrea Libman to voice Flora. But
I didn't want her to sound like the human
version of Fluttershy. So I thought Kira
would be a better fit. I could see Kira
giving Flora some serious Team Mom
energy while still having her badass moments.
Tecna - Kath Soucie (Maybe it's just a me thing,
but I kinda liked that the actress who played
Tecna in the 4Kids dub gave her a British accent
because it made her stand out from the rest
of the main cast a bit more since she's from a
very tech heavy realm. Also I really like Kath's
performance as Agent K from The Replacements.
Aisha - Cree Summer (I urge anyone to watch
Mummies Alive or Mortal Kombat Defenders of the
Realm for an idea of how Cree could do her take on
Aisha.)
Roxy - Lacey Chabert (Who better to portray the Fairy
of Animals than Eliza Thornberry herself! Enough
said, plus Lacey has voiced plenty of teenagers
before, even in live action!)
I grew up watching Winx in German and I still prefer the German Voices. It´s what I´m used to, they fit well imo and it´s not as chaotic as all the different English voices.

@@will7922 i guess that depends on what you grew up watching. Of course if the voices are different from what you are used to, they will appear strange to you. But of course casting alone doesn't guarantee a good dub as also talked about in the video. A good script and direction is also needed and I believe the German dub has some skilled VAs
I grew up with Cinelume, but from the multilanguage clips I have seen, the German dub is definitely one of the better ones. The songs were great too - Heller als Licht is the only alternative Winx opening I actually like.
4kids bias OF COURSE, but Nick did great as well. If I had to fancast for the new season, though, I'd cast Jodi Benson (Bloom), Cree Summer (Aisha), Andrea Baker (Stella), Maria Canals-Barrera (Flora), Keri Walhgren (British Tecna), and Constance Wu (Musa).

I do like Christy for Roxy, though...And I do like Ming Na-Wen for Musa. I mainly thought of Constance because of her work on "Velma."

Yeah, Jodi is my first choice because of her (and co-star Christopher Daniel Barnes, who I wouldn't mind playing Sky in this hypothetical) underrated vocal skills--though I could also see her playing Icy if she used her Vanessa voice...in any case, Christy is also someone to consider for Bloom. Salli Saffioti is also a second place for Aisha for me thanks to Clawdeen. But I won't go into the spiral of possible candidates!
@@Superlad945 I never thought Disney did it as a jab. While the brand itself has a weird history with WC, I doubt most of the crew involved with TPATF knew about it, given that it's still kinda underrated here in America--and this was BEFORE the Nick dub.
I really enjoyed Anika as Catwoman in the "Injustice" film (even if the movie itself was terrible), so that'd be a good pick! Staying on the Disney side, Tress MacNeille could potentially make a good Stella, given her performance as Daisy Duck and Anastasia Tremaine--though perhaps a bit deeper-voiced than what we're used to.
Let's be honest: the show being streamed on Disney+ and having several Disney VAs would be the perfect reconciliation between Iginio and the company--though perhaps Nickelodeon's original seasons has scared him away from direct collaboration.
I agree I liked 4kids but wasnt a fan of Techna's British accent. Nick's voice actor (before butterflix of course) was on point with each character in my opinion of course

Yep! I feel like 4Kids get hated on so much because of a lot of censorship, but a lot of people don’t realize how stingy and ridiculous the American broadcasting for kids shows is. I actually really love a lot of the actors and especially the change in dialogue. To be fair the dub also skipped a lot of continuity errors the Cinelume dub kept running into (like Red Fountain being a magical school for wizards but the guys NEVER use magic)
At The end of The day , The italian voices are top tier

The Cinelume/Rai English and Dubbing Bros. dub sounds like the girls were voiced by the same person. 4Kids - cheesy dialogue, but the characters had personality. The Nick dub is a bit of a hit and miss
I say that 4Kids is the supreme one, then it is the Nickelodeon one. I only do not like the change of Tecna's voice actress in te 3 season of the 4Kids dub; I have nothing against the actress, however, in my opinion, the voice dosen't suit her.

This just made me think about my language dub. When i'm really thinking about it Czech dub was good. All girls had a few voice actresses but almost all of them were amazing, the worst one was decent. Just if somebody wanted to know, here is how many different voices each winx had in this dub and my ranking of them:

If you want go check them. I just realized how amazing dub Czechs have. No matter if it's real or animated or anything Czechs know hot to pick perfect voices for all characters and give a good performance. Czechs and Slovaks completely suck in making their own movies and series (every single one of them is horrible) but Czechs are masters in voice acting.

Since Norway isn’t that big of a country we don’t have that many voice actors so we often hear repeating people (seriously if you watch a new show there’s always minimum 2 voices you’ll recognise) so we’ve had a very consistent cast

It's incredible to think that the characters have so many english voices. The german dub has like... 3 changes in voice actors, but other than that they are pretty consistantly the same voice. At least for the main girls. They even got blooms original voice actress for the fate saga dub

It's honestly ridiculous yet hilarious because of how much dubbing history Winx Club has had.
It reminds me of the dubbing history of the Neon Genesis Evangelion franchise. The original series' first dub was created by ADV Films in 1997, but they also made a Director's Cut version of their dub to correct the performances and replace the original actors that weren't really good.
Then in September 1 of 2007, Studio Khara and Gainax created the era of the Rebuild movies which served as a reimagining of the manga and series but not as remakes, where the dub for the first 3 movies were created by Funimation where they had 3 actors from the ADV dub and 1 from the Director's cut version, Spike Spencer, Allison Keith, Tiffany Grant, and John Swasey. But they had to replace the rest of the characters' actors with ones that work for Funi.
And then in 2019 when Netflix made the announcement of adding the original series they didn't want to pay extra for the ADV dub so they just got with their own Dubbing studio, VSI Studios, and made an entire new cast, and they even Irish musical theater actress Stephanie McKeon, who's very well known as playing Anna in the musical theater version of Frozen in the West End of London, England. She has had no experience in voice acting whatsoever until she was casted as one of the main characters in the series. She wasn't terrible but it was just the voice direction and script she was given brings her down to, like, a 7/10 for me. The Netflix dub is also controversial not just because of the cast but also because the script the actors were given was very literal. They had also changed a very important line that was important to the original story of both the manga and series, the subtitles were even changed and also changed the line like the that dub had. That line in particular also revealed that the lead role himself was bisexual and the guy he was with was gay, and the creator of the manga and series did that on purpose because he wanted to include self discovery that kids go through like sexualities. So with that line being changed, that just changes everything about the story. The original line was "It means I love you," in both the Japanese and original English dubs but Netflix's dub AND subtitles changed it to "It means I like you."And fun fact: Funimation had actually been trying to get enough money to pay for the rights to stream the series but when they did, Netflix got licensing last minute.
Then in 2020, when Amazon added the Rebuild movies, they got with Dubbing Brothers (yes, the same studio for the God awful English dubs for the Winx Club movies) and re-dubbed all the movies. And because of that, Funimation lost the rights to dub the movies so Funi couldn't dub the final Rebuild movie so Dubbing Brothers did. Their dub for the 4th movie was actually good but not for the first 3 which is ironic. They also got almost ALL of the original ADV voice actors from the Director's Cut version of the OG dub unlike Funimation had 4 of the original actors of the ADV dub. And honestly, even with the original actors like Spike Spencer, the OG actors sounded like they didn't want to go through the dubbing process of the movies again because they already did with the Funi dub. And Allison Keith just sounded too old to play her character again compared to how young she sounded in the OG dub and Funi's dub of the movies. Amanda Winn Lee suffered through same problem with coming back from not being included in the Funi dub to play her character again because she sounded too old like Allison Keith did.
But yeah, the dubbing history for Winx reminds of that situation.

In Turkey we have the BEST THE BEST voice actresses for Winx girls and we have them since 2004 Bloom,Stella,Musa,Tecna and Layla (Aisha) have the same voice through out the WHOLE FRANCHISE I mean you can watch season 8 and girls still have the same voice. Apparently we got a lot of Flora voices that’s kind of complicated but Stella’s Turkish voice actress is the BEST
Tbh, I quite prefer the Cinelume dub, but I am aware is just 100% personal nostalgia and bias. I feel like I might have been one of the 5 people that found Winx on Netflix when tbe earlier seasons were on there. Netflix had the Cinelume dub. I even like the way some of the characters sound sick with the audio quality and Musa's Cinelume voice just because of the pure nostalgia.
I've rewatched the first 4 seasons like, 10 times but I've been considering rewatching everything in the 4kids dub considering how highly Thomas has been talking about it lately. I never bothered before cuz I just assumed it'd be terrible with the lore changes (I'm usually not a fan of that) and I'd heard some things about 4kids dubs for shows I've never watched
I would not recommend that you watch the 4Kids dub, if you grew with with Cinelume or Nick. They change so many things in the show and the girls personalities that it might as well be called an Americanized adaptation rather than a dub. Also - and 4Kids fans don't like this, in an old interview Iginio Straffi mentioned that he didn't like the 4Kids dub because it removes something 'essential.' Also, do keep in mind that whenever the show is dubbed in another country, the Cinelume/Italian scripts and songs are sent over. 4Kids got their rights revoked and as a result, the complete series was never released on DVD for that dub.
@@blazekerman4767 My main concern with trying to watch it is just finding it in the first place, I'll admit. But it's been over 20 years and the internet works hard.
I don't know what I exactly expect with the 4kids dub other than cringe (I can already tell Musa's lines will kill me) and lore changes. But my main reason behind considering searching for it other than Thomas's opinions is to compare the two dubs. Just for fun. I intend to walk into it with as best of an open mind as I can muster if I ever were to.

I just rewatched the 4Kids dub (again…) and this time, I was paying more attention to Kerry’s voice acting. Honestly, her season one performances are really solid and don’t fall into that overly soft quality people dislike about Flora’s other voice actors. During seasons two and three, she definitely falls more into that overly shy and airy quality. But still, there are a lot of episodes where she maintains what made her voice acting so great in season one (especially the episode where Flora earns her Enchantix).
