Many people may see me as a biased Morissette fan,when in all reality,i have loved my music for decades now,and yes have listened too some of the best female vocalist during that time,who i truly admire even till today,but i can honestly state,in my opinion,Morissette is the best live female vocalist,i have ever witnessed.she has it all,powerful God gifted vocal's,unique tone,and a very mystifying ability,too affect her watching audiences feelings,and lets not forget,her truly humble personality,she is a vocal phenomenon indeed.thank you Sofie,for your touching reaction.well done.
I totally and wholeheartedly agree with you! I am not a highbrow person but when it comes to following and being a fan of a singer, I do choose which one I'd like to hear and listen to. The first time I heard Morissette sing, I became her instant fan because of all the vocal qualities she possesses you mentioned and all the attributes she has as a person as well. I will be an avid fan forever and my only wish and I know it is also the wish of her myriads of fans in the Philippines and abroad that Morissette gets the global recognition she deserves. In time, it will come and Morissette is not in a hurry to achieve the elusive fame of being a world-wide phenomenon.

I'm was not too familiar with this song and the background story of Waitress, but when I heard it the first time from Morissette, it pierced my soul and made me teary-eyed. I eventually listened to the original singer and a couple of other cover singers of this song, but unfortunately it did not affect me the same way as Morissette’s rendition.

She is simply the best female vocalist on the planet today. I would have left off the gender ID, except there is Dimash, and he might have a thing or two to say about that. That is the wonder of Morissette that she gives you everything on every song.she never cheats the music. She never sings like we should be grateful, she sings like she is grateful we are there wanting to hear her sing. And, Boy Howdy, she certainly does that. When Mori sings a song it stays sung. From the first time I saw her I knew, that if there is a God in heaven, and there most certainly is, then she will be a huge star. I know her progress seems slow but when she gets there she will be there to stay. She is involved with Michael Bolten in Indonesia in a talent search show, but she is also the leading vote getter for the last 7 weeks running as her exposure becomes greater. I feel my mind starting to wander which is never good. So continue to enjoy Morissette.

Yeah, she knows how to make whatever she is singing her personal story that she passionately shares with you; personally. Intimately touches you with her wonderful voice. Neil Diamond did that to me with his Hot August Night Greek theator concert. Morissette is that good. Neil's carreer span like 50 years and I hope Morissette follows Diamond's foot steps.

I only came to know this song when I watched this video. I then checked out Sara Bareilles original and for comparison, other covers too. This version by Morissette is an absolute gem that I dare say is better than the original. It's also better than Sara's live version in my opinion.
