Great video! I actually have that set already but it doesn’t work:( I’m so bummed. I paired the gateway and remote with the app but the app just won’t find the bulbs! They flash and then stop as said in the instructions but then just nothing happens in the app:( I’ve contacted Ikea help desk but no help. Have you experienced trouble adding bulbs?
Hey Katarzyna, what a shame! Do they work with the remote? Or is the connection with the app faulty as well as the remote? You have probably already tried updating the app and re-installing the gateway I gather.. I have not had any issues with the bulbs, no. Perhaps there are some forums online where you can pose your problem. There are always some tech savvy people out there who know these issues. Hope this helps!
Just using the controller is possible, but you'll just be able to turn the lights on and off (like with the wall switch). You need the wifi bridge to cycle through colors and scenes.

yes! They remain on at all times. You can make different light plans for different rooms and thus turn each light bulb on and off independently through the app. The remote does a mere on or off, so you do need the app if you want to change different rooms to new light plans.
The remote works without an internet connection, so you'll be able to switch all lightbulbs simultaneously to different colors. However, changing the individual lightbulbs, or the moods, does require the app and thus an internet connection with the bridge.

What is the purpose of the Wifi bridge thingy?
it connects the light bulbs to your Wifi. This enables you to control the lights through the IKEA app.
