Dont understand how this is the goat. No hygrometer no self humidification. Just constant fan on boveda packs getting dried out to be replaced or rehydrated. How is this the goat. And most king chi or raching maching are put in water and it controls the humidity. Makes sence why it cost more. Always rember no matter what if everbody knows about it , you get what you pay for. But thank you for the reveiw but this is a good humidor but not even close to the goat.
I disagree. I don't claim that's perfect, but I to think it's the GOAT.
I agree with everything you are saying
Mine works better when it’s turned off . Wish I never bought one
I have this same model and agree it’s not the goat. Clickbait
It's a fridge. That's it.
Was thankfully able to pick one up as a return through a place that auctions off returns. Can't say I would have paid full price for it, but it was well worth it for the $150 I paid.
It does look really nice but hard to beat the value of the kingchii 48L 350 count especially if you can get it for the prime price of $241! Just wish I had just started with a winador from the beginning, having 10 tuperdors/small desktop humidors at once was way too much to try and manage lol. Cigar smoking is supposed to be a stress reliever not stressful in itself just trying to maintain a bunch of containers. Thanks for the video 🙌🏼
Wow! This is a really slick humidor...very interested, even though I certainly don't need to store 500 cigars. I'd have to smoke daily instead of weekly. LOL! Anyway, yeah...I'd expect to see a humidor that size having 2 or 3 zone hygrometers. I'd also love a filtered water connection....just connect the hose, set it, and leave it alone for the next five years. Cheers!
LOVE this style content.
thank you!
Nice review. Disagree on Goat status though. I weighed the pros and cons between this unit and the NewAir 840 and although more than double the price, the 840 was the clear winner. Biggest con that was not mentioned is the fact that this unit does not heat, it is only a cooler. For this of us in colder climates (New York) that alone is a deal breaker.
I run 2 schmecke 400 units . I personally think they are better . Because you don't need the boveda packs which can get expensive after a while . The schmecke has a reservoir that you fill with distilled water that has fans that circulate the humidity .It also heats and cools . They have been keeping my cigars perfect for years now .
I'll have to check one out. I think I would like the Boveda packs over distilled water, but I'll see if I can get one soon and check it out.
@@BeastMadeReviews 👊
I just ordered one! I know it’s no seasoning required but did u do anything before putting the sticks in? Like drop in some 84% packs for a few days?
no, I didn't. I just put them in there with the included Boveda packs.
@@BeastMadeReviews just threw some 72s in with about 100 cigars. About how long did it take to get to at least around 65-69%?
@@JordanTheJabber That I wouldn't be able to guess. You would have to check it with a hygrometer in the humidor, or with a CigarMedic for each cigar.
Excellent review 👍 New subscriber after this video, looks like an awesome humidor... heading over to pick me up one now with the 10% coupon... Thanks brother !!
Awesome, thank you!
@@BeastMadeReviews Smoking deal, your coupon was $75 off, that will defiantly help with the job of filling it up...Thanks again. 👍
I use an AcuRite "Digital Weather Station" with a wireless humidity/temperature sensor for a no-phone option ($25 from local hardware stores). I recommend the HT.w Wireless Thermometer/Hygrometer Water-Resistant for iPhone/Android ($70). I recommend avoiding the Chinese software products because they spy on people.
Ive got one that holds about 50. Im happy with it. Looks cool though. At that point i would just be showboating my cigar collection lol.
No self humidification, hardly goat! But you obviously got one for free and had to promote the video 👍
No humidifier self-humidifies. You have to have a humidification system in there. I've seen a lot of humidifiers, and this is by far the nicest one I've found. If you disagree, you do you.
500? 300 if you are lucky. All brands of electric humidors overstate real-world capacity. I bought a 1500-capacity and had a second one bc they don't hold anywhere near advertised. And they all have little room if you have more than 1 or 2 boxes. The 1500 are on sale for 999.99. A better value if you can afford the larger humidor.
This is advertising not I formation, surely you realise that?
If it doesn’t have built in humiliation, cooling/heating and you need to add boveda packs it not the GOAT.
I disagree
Not to mention it costs more than double humidors that have all the things you just mentioned. $600 for a basic humidor is insanity. Plus an additional $50-100/year on Boveda packs
@@pjbuma13 it doesn't have the be the best to you. But I think it's great.
Does this heat as well?
You didn’t mention it in your review and it is essential. If not, then this isn’t even an option. Temperatures always fluctuate and cigars like to live in a warmer climate. 70° is above classic room temperature (68°) and *definitely* heating becomes an issue for everyone during the winter.
Many cigar smokers, like me, who have roughly one every night (which isn’t that much, really) will buy boxes of cigars they enjoy frequently to both save money and to make sure their favorites are always on hand. On top of that, humidors are notorious for massively over stating how many they can hold. This one you reviewed is definitely on the smaller side, or if you prefer, the smaller side of medium electric humidors. 😉
I also find it odd that the Boveda packs hang down and take up so much space. On top of that, there is no front or back edge to keep cigars from just sliding or rolling out.
In a nutshell, it looks like you might want to dig a bit deeper, and test a few more, before stating that this is the BEST electronic out there.
I’ve been looking and heavily researching this topic for years now and I am still waiting for someone to build a real electronic humidor that properly solves all the real world problems cigar smokers who maintain a sizable collection have.
My 2¢!
Thanks for taking the time to at least dipping your toes into this complex issue!
Yes, it heats and he mentioned it @ 2:30 .
@@philwilliams8328 Not true. The comment he makes is the following:
“It has heat and UV protection.”
I.e., It will not heat up from direct sunlight. It is protected from the heat.
If it had cooling and heating, this would have been addressed in the temperature control portion of the review.
I looked elsewhere and nowhere does it state that this has a heating element (but their advertising DOES say that the glass protects against HEAT and sunlight; exactly what he says in this video).
I actually get the feeling that he didn’t actually use the damn thing and just reported based on the spec sheet. There are ABSOLUTELY better electric humidors out there than this!
In addition, everyone who HAS purchased this model has been extremely upset that they had to season the thing as it arrived horribly dry. Even Newair, the manufacturer, says that it has to be seasoned, which is the opposite of what they are proclaiming in their advertising.
All electronic humidors are just converted wine fridges unless they specifically state otherwise. I’ve been researching them for many years now and this has always been the case.
Unless you can show me where the manufacturer states it has a heating element, it just doesn’t have one.
Cheers!
@@T_bias Yes, you're correct as to it not being heated. My mistake. Also a ridiculous claim he made that it comes pre- seasoned! I've never heard such an asinine claim in regards to _any_ humidor.
@T_bias what brand is your best recommendation ?
@@philwilliams8328 Exactly! You just are not able to pre-season a humidor that is mass produced. MAYBE if you bought one from your local tobacconist who does it for you as a favor? But that’s a major stretch! LOL 😂
I'll give you a credit. It takes alot of afford and knowledge to talk about same subject and feature multiple times over again 😂. And making 2 min video into 8
Thanks! I take pride in my ability to make engaging reviews.
Having the so called GOAT, and then taking out a cigar wrapped in cellophane was all I needed to see...
plenty of people store cigars in the cellophane. It concentrates the flavor, while taking it off mellows the cigars. No right or wrong way.
Honestly hate that line or saying. That's the goat... I guess I'm old skool. Sounds more like an insult.
But kewl video
The best? All I read about is the cheap Chinese plastic smell that ruins your cigars in all New Airs.
The overwhelming smell in this humidor is Spanish cedar. Definitely not plastic.
@BeastMadeReviews man it's almost like the haters come out when anyone says anything at all. 😂 It's actually quite pathetic how many haters felt the need to spew their god-like knowledge on this video instead of scrolling by and keeping their negativity in their as... I liked the video and appreciate the info. So thank you and keep it up.
