Carter Renk had a friend in ohio before I moved to North Carolina who had a supercharged tundra. It was his drift toy and his daily. He had 375k on the engine and tranny when I left 4 years ago lol.
Carter Renk if it's a 5.3 they are known for lasting a very long time I know a guy with one that has 280k on it with the original transmission and it runs great, he drives it most of the time. The 4.3s are pretty good too, but I've seen a lot more high mileage 5.3s than 4.3s

It's still shifting perfect too. We think it's probably the original tranny too. It seems like the 4l60 either destroys its self with in the first 150,000 or lasts forever. I had a 99 5.3 with the original tranny and I abused it from 180,000 till 210,000 with no issues...
Rebel Mechanics A nice fluid flush every once and a while helps to confirm this. But also, accurate use of the transmission (good driving) makes everything nice and smooth, eh? Beat that thang around the block a few more times before you get rid of it!
Robbie Riggs my grandpa's trany blew in a way in 2 of his like 9 rides. his 2001 chevy silverodo 1500 and his 1965 ford thunderbird. the truck max Speed was 180 km/h but it top'd out at 160. but he is always doing top Speed in the truck. in the car the only gear that worked prperly was revers and park. every other one was broken and turn'd into revers.
I used to do this in my 98 f150. 4.2L v6. We blew a spark plug and still got the truck to do burn outs. Took it home after 3 hours of drifting and replaced the spark plugs. Was amazed that there was zero damage to my truck.

Guys, that was the true and tried testing grounds for the LS1 engine. There you have it folks! These guys have video footage proof that GM builds the longest lasting and toughest trucks out there. Great job guys!!!
The 5.3 they use in the brand new trucks is still the same as this 5.3, the main difference is the computer programming, the new ones make 330 hp, these old ones make 285.

Chevy strong I did some similar stuff with a 1992 blazer 4.3 v6 thing was beat so far that a demo derby team wouldn't take it but the engine ran like a top and I would bounce off the limiter 99% of the time (also it was open manifolds) slammed it it to trees the engine would still be running now if I didn't hit a big rock and broke a oil coolant line ... my dad has a 1990 Silverado 3500 4x4 454 (its on my channel) that its been used as a plow truck since 06 never had a oil change since doesn't have brakes to stop we just put it in reverse or drive (its a turbo 400 that's why it can take the beating ) it still runs strong as the day we got it (2004) Chevy's always have out lasted our expectations in my family actually pretty much GM in general does
