If it sat for 10-15 years rings might just need some time to come back around. Old cars are the same, sit for many years it'll smoke at first but the oil it burns helps it but after letting it run and warm up should be good after. If not needs new rings yeah.
Yeah it’s a mixture of both but we didn’t bother to do anything about it we just needed something to start some content with but appreciate all the advice!!
Yeah it smokes like crazy, burns like that feel like it may be the valve stem seal? I got a 17hp briggs and it smoked the same way but found out the valve stem seal failed too late.. Valve dropped into the engine
